MrBeast asks Fortnite for a ‘hood' skin after meme goes viral
Image via Epic Games
YouTube megastar Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has once again captured the internet's attention - this time with a viral meme and a humorous request to Fortnite. The 26-year-old influencer, known for his philanthropic stunts and challenge videos, took to social media on May 26 to ask Fortnite for a new skin inspired by the trending 'Hood MrBeast' meme.
A viral meme with gaming potential
The meme, which reimagines MrBeast with flashy jewelry, designer outfits, and urban haircuts, has gained massive traction across TikTok and YouTube Shorts. The internet's playful reinvention of the usually clean-cut content creator has led to millions of views, with the hashtag 'Hood MrBeast' quickly climbing trending charts.
Kai Cenat Meets Hood MrBeast
Joining in on the fun, MrBeast himself posted videos embracing the trend. One of them featured popular streamer Kai Cenat, with whom he mimicked the meme's signature style. Not long after, Donaldson tweeted directly at Fortnite's official account, asking, 'Can we have a hood MrBeast skin?'
The post quickly went viral, garnering over 480,000 views within hours.
Top gaming personalities like Clix, Lazarbeam, and NickEh30 voiced support, urging Epic Games to consider adding the meme-inspired version to the game. 'Please make this happen,' Clix tweeted, while Lazarbeam simply replied, 'Vouch.'
Could Epic Games say yes?
MrBeast already has an official skin in Fortnite, released in December 2022 as part of the Icon Series. The current skin offers multiple styles but hasn't returned to the item shop since 2024.
If Epic Games does approve a 'Hood MrBeast' update, it could take the form of a new skin or a fresh edit style added to the existing one.
So far, Fortnite developers have not responded to the request. However, the company has a history of embracing humorous and viral content. With creators like Ninja, SypherPK, and TheGrefg already featured in Fortnite's Icon Series, a second MrBeast skin would not be out of place - especially one riding the wave of internet culture.
The timing could work in Epic's favor. A new MrBeast skin could boost Fortnite's visibility among younger players, especially those active on TikTok and YouTube. It could also reignite interest in the game's competitive scene, with top streamers already championing the cause.
Whether it started as a joke or a genuine proposal, MrBeast's latest tweet has opened the door to yet another potential crossover between internet fame and the virtual battlefield.
