Burnett, during her conversation with Mamdani, suddenly played a portion of the assemblyman's rap music video, 'Nani.' He had shared the video in 2019 on YouTube under the name Mr. Cardamom. In the throwback clip, Mamdani is featured alongside his friends and Indian-born British-American actress Madhur Jaffrey.
Throughout the video, they dance at various places, including a food truck. At one point, Mamdani is seen rapping while wearing an apron without anything underneath. What does the interview show?
During the interview, Burnett starts playing videos from Mamdani's recent campaigns, including one in which he talks about his place of birth and how he got his middle name. As the interview continues, a snippet from his appearance on The Breakfast Club podcast appears on the screen.
What follows is Burnett introducing the politician's creative side and playing a portion of the rap video. As the rap continues, Mamdani, clearly caught off guard, tries to maintain his composure. However, eventually, he gives in and starts laughing. 'I didn't think it was going to be on CNN,' he says.
The video is posted on the official X profile of the talk show with a caption that reads, 'Watch as #NYC Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani watches his past performance as a rapper and responds to critics who say he's not ready to run New York. He speaks one-on-one with @ErinBurnett.'

'Look, I can't say much on the matter, but I do know Diljit personally, and I know he has a deep sense of patriotism. He's truly a son of the soil. If you look at his major concerts, he always ends them by waving the Indian flag. And I know for a fact that he's not someone who does anything fake, he's genuine. No one asked him to do all this, but at every concert, he declares 'I am Punjab' and proudly takes India's name. Now, I don't know the full details of the casting process, since actors usually don't make those decisions. But I do know that he has immense love for the country, and those who can see the truth will understand it in a few days.' This film was shot in February. A lot of things happened after that which are not in our control. When it (Pahalgam attack) happened, the producers knew that they can't release this film in India anymore. But, they decided to release it overseas as they have invested a lot of money in the film. They will 100% suffer losses because they are removing an entire territory.' Producer of Sardaar Ji 3, Gunbir Singh Sidhu, earlier told NDTV that the film was shot before the Pahalgam attack and that, at the time, there was no such ban in place. He also spoke about the financial ramifications of Sardaar Ji 3 not getting a release in India, stating that '40 percent of our revenue loss has happened.' Bhanwar Lal Vishnoi, popularly known as Yatra Guru Ji, a travel vlogger from Rajasthan, is under fire for posting videos that many believe disrespect women from Nagaland and tribal communities. His recent YouTube uploads, featuring provocative thumbnails and insensitive titles, have sparked widespread outrage on social media. The backlash intensified after a video was posted on June 18, in which Vishnoi commented on the appearance of people in Nagaland. In the clip, he says, 'There's something I want to say, the faces here all look kind of similar. As I walk ahead into a more crowded area, I feel like I've seen these people before. He is not showing our culture in the videos, but selling our bodies for his views." After facing backlash, Yatra Guru Ji posted a new video where he said sorry for hurting the people of the Northeast and for showing women in the wrong way. He also told his audience that his team is now working on changing the thumbnails of the videos. While apologising, Bhanwar Lal Vishnoi also explained why he used such pictures and titles. He said he used them to get more views, as this type of content attracts more attention. At the same time, he also said that his videos are clean and meant to share useful information. Surprisingly, Bhanwar Lal Vishnoi has also shared content with YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who is currently facing serious accusations of sharing sensitive details about the Indian Army after Operation Sindoor.
