May 12 (UPI) -- Aquaman and The Stand actress Amber Heard announced on Instagram Sunday that she has welcomed twins into her family.
"Mother's Day 2025 will be one I'll never forget. This year I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I've strived to build for years. Today I officially share the news that I welcomed twins into the Heard gang. My daughter Agnes and my son Ocean are keeping my hands (and my heart) full," Heard, 39, posted alongside a photo of three sets of llttle feet.
"When I had my first baby girl Oonagh four years ago, my world changed forever. I thought I couldn't possibly burst with more joy. Well, now I am bursting times three!!! Becoming a mother by myself and on my own terms despite my own fertility challenges has been the most humbling experience of my life," she added. "I am eternally grateful that I was able to choose this responsibly and thoughtfully. To all the moms, wherever you are today and however you got here, my dream family and I are celebrating with you."
Heard has been staying out of the spotlight in Spain since the televised 2022 court battle that saw her and her ex-husband, actor Johnny Depp, accusing each other of domestic abuse and defamation.
Heard and Depp co-starred in the 2011 film, The Rum Diary, and were married 2015-17.

Ncuti Gatwa addresses Doctor Who exit as he's replaced by Billie Piper

Ncuti Gatwa has released a statement after it was announced that Billie Piper is to replace him in . The Sex Education and Barbie star portrayed the Doctor for 18 episodes from 2023-2025. Former pop star Piper played Rose Tyler, assistant to Christopher Eccleston's Doctor, across 32 episodes from 2005-2006, making special appearances in 2008 and 2010. Addressing the cast change, former Attitude cover star Gatwa said (as per The Independent): 'You know when you get cast, at some point, you are going to have to hand back that sonic screwdriver and it is all going to come to an end, but nothing quite prepares you for it. 'This journey has been one that I will never forget and a role that will be part of me forever. There are no words to describe what it feels like to be cast as the Doctor, nor are there words to explain what it feels like to be accepted into this iconic role that has existed for over 60 years and is truly loved by so many across the globe.' The 32-year-old went on: 'The fans are truly the final character and beating heart of this show and I can't thank the Whoniverse, and the Whovians, enough for welcoming me in, and making this such a touching experience. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ncuti Gatwa (@ncutigatwa) 'I've loved every minute of it, but now is the time to hand over the keys to that beloved blue box and let someone else take control and enjoy it every bit as much as I have. I'll truly miss it, and forever be grateful to it, and everyone that has played a part in my journey as the Doctor.' Speaking in an Instagram post, Gatwa also said: 'Monsters, goblins, gods, human-eating Slugs, invisible brain altering creatures, evil barbers, conspiracy theorists… you've had quite a busy two years. Well done and rest up son.' Gatwa's final appearance as the Doctor was Saturday's finale (31 May). Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies meanwhile said in his own statement: 'What a Doctor! Thank you, Ncuti! As his final words say, this has been an absolute joy, and the team in Cardiff and everyone who has worked on this show for the past few years, are so lucky to have been part of Ncuti's great adventure as he shoots off to stratospheric new heights. 'Billie once changed the whole of television, back in 2005, and now she's done it again! It's an honour and a hoot to welcome her back to the Tardis, but quite how and why and who is a story yet to be told. After 62 years, the Doctor's adventures are only just beginning!' Today in Chicago History: Taylor Swift takes over Soldier Field

Here's a look back at what happened in the Chicago area on June 2, according to the Tribune's archives. Is an important event missing from this date? Email us. Weather records (from the National Weather Service, Chicago) 1939: 'Well to do spinster' Rose Neary was found strangled with a radio cord and beaten to death with a hammer in her first floor apartment on Franklin Boulevard in Chicago, where she lived with her two dogs. Friends became concerned when Neary failed to appear at a celebration for her synagogue, which she helped plan. Though acquaintances — including an occasional chauffeur whom she loaned money to — were questioned, the case remains unsolved. Neary's belongings including fur coats, furniture and jewelry were auctioned later that month, with officials charged admission of 50 cents to prevent overcrowding of the apartment. 300 miles in Nebraska with Fred Hoiberg: The former Bulls coach opens up about his time in Chicago, recruiting in the Big Ten and going home2015: The Chicago Bulls hired Fred Hoiberg, who briefly played for the team, to be its 19th coach. Hoiberg compiled a 115-155 record with one first-round playoff exit before he was fired in December 2018. He's now the basketball coach at Nebraska. 2019: Illinois lawmakers voted to legalize sports betting, allowing a Chicago casino, slot machines at both city airports, casinos in the south suburbs, Waukegan, Rockford, Danville and Williamson County, slot machines at horse racing tracks, and spots betting at casinos and tracks. 2023: For the first of three sold-out shows on her Eras Tour at Soldier Field, Taylor Swift contained multitudes, presiding over a 200-minute extravaganza that often had the crowd of more than 60,000 devoted fans singing along to every word. The epic concert took the form of nine separate mini sets, each aurally and visually connected to a certain album, letting the pop phenom explore nearly every facet of a 17-year recording career that currently knows no limits. Swift paired each set change with themed wardrobes and a parade of choreographed routines featuring a squadron of dancers and, frequently, members of her backup band. She also integrated projections on a mammoth, curved, high-definition screen, as well as mobile platforms whose height and shapes fluctuated during songs. 'It was a stage whose magnitude dared make Soldier Field look mid-sized,' critic Bob Gendron wrote. Race Across The World contestants 'deeply saddened' by Sam Gardiner's death

Race Across the World winners and contestants have paid tribute to Sam Gardiner who died in a car crash at 24 years old. The car accident happened on the A34 in Gatley, near Cheadle on Monday and Gardiner died from his injuries days later on Thursday, Greater Manchester Police said. Gardiner took part in series two of the BBC travel show, that aired in March 2020, alongside his mum Jo. In the 2019 series, the contestants were tasked with travelling from Mexico City to the southernmost city in the world Ushuaia in Argentina. The mother and son were unable to compete in the final leg of the journey as they ran out of money but at the time Sam described the seven-week experience as "life-changing". Lovely messages have been shared in memory of the Race Across the World contestant from others who have taken part in the show from series two and beyond. Race Across the World series two winner Emon Choudhury — who took part in the show with his nephew Jamiul — led the tributes with his kind words. He wrote on social media: "Such heart breaking news." Choudhury posted photographs of them together on Instagram and wrote a message "in loving memory of Sam". His message read: "I'm deeply saddened to share that my dear friend Sam has passed away. Many of you will remember him from Race Across the World—where he and Jo showed us what it truly means to live fully, love fiercely, and embrace every moment with an open heart. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Emon Choudhury (@emonchoudhury) "Sam was pure sunshine in human form. his kindness was a beacon for anyone lucky enough to cross his path. He made us feel seen, supported, and braver than we ever thought possible. With every warm smile and encouraging word, he reminded us that life's greatest treasures are the connections we make and the love we share. "Though his journey here ended far too soon, Sam's generous spirit will keep guiding us. I find comfort knowing that his light lives on in the laughter we still carry, the dreams he inspired, and the countless ways he taught me that he was always stronger than me in every way. His love for Cheetos and the many stories we all have is something I will cherish and always remember. My journey on @raceacrosstheworld would have never been the same with out him. Every time I have a subway I'll always remember you. "Rest easy, Sam. You'll be forever missed, and never forgotten." Also from series two, contestant Lizzie Slater shared on Instagram: "Love you forever Sam." On her Instagram stories, she added: "Will always be a huge part of our race across the world family." Additionally series two contestant Jen simply wrote "love you" over a collage of pictures from their time on Race Across the World. In a statement, Mrs Gardiner and his father Andrew said: "We are devastated by the loss of our beloved son Sam in a terrible accident. "Sam left us far too soon, and whilst words will never fully capture the light, joy and energy he brought into our lives, we hold on to the memories that made him so special. Sam was adored by his family. As a son, brother and nephew, he was loyal, funny and fiercely protective. "He did Race Across The World in 2019, which opened his eyes to the wonder of adventure and travel. He was willing to go wherever the trail might lead and he touched everyone he met on the road. He found great happiness working as a landscape gardener on the west coast of Scotland."
