Sordid new claims about Epstein, Trump and royal staff verbal abuse exposed in new Prince Andrew biography

West Australian7 days ago
Prince Andrew's already tarnished image is about to take another severe battering with the release of a new biography that sensationally details damning new allegations about his unsavoury behaviour.
From talking about 'p***y' with Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, to insulting royal staff and asking guests if they are wearing knickers, the book paints a very unflattering picture of the King's younger brother.
It also explores the concern of intelligence agencies that Russia has 'kompromat' or blackmail on Andrew over the Epstein scandal.
Andrew, who was given the nickname of 'Randy Andy' while at school, has become a royal pariah over his friendship with the late sex offender.
He was forced to step down from a roving UK trade ambassador role in 2011, before quitting all royal duties in 2019 and then being stripped of his military links and royal patronages in 2022 amid allegations of sexual misconduct.
Before her death by suicide, Australian Virginia Giuffre accused Andrew of sexually assaulting her when she was 17.
The Duke, who repeatedly denied the claims, paid her an estimated £7.3million ($15 million) in an out-of-court settlement in February 2022 without accepting any liability.
The book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by Andrew Lownie that is being serialised by the Mail, has already garnered global headlines with its claim that Prince Harry got into a physical fight with Andrew.
It claims 'punches were thrown' and the Duke of York was left with a bloody nose.
But Lownie also outlines in the book a number of Andrew's other alleged sickening interactions, including one with Donald Trump in 2000, shortly after they were introduced by Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein.
He writes that the now US president handed Andrew a list of masseuses after the pair spoke about 'p***y'.
The book, which the royal family tried to have banned, also recounts alleged remarks from Epstein, calling Andrew a fellow 'serial sex addict'.
'He's the only person I have met who is more obsessed with p***y than me.
'From the reports I've got back from the women we've shared, he [Prince Andrew] is the most perverted animal in the bedroom. He likes to engage in stuff that's even kinky to me — and I'm the king of kink!'
In another anecdote, Lownie writes that 'unbelievable cruel' Andrew verbally abused a member of the royal household.
During a exchange about a storm at Hillborough Castle in Northern Ireland, Andrew asked head of the household David Anderson if there had been any damage.
Anderson replied there had, to 'the tree which was planted by the Queen Mother'.
Andrew then mocked the staffer, asking 'Did you mean Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother?'' and enquiring how long he had been working for the royal family.
'And you still don't know the proper way to refer to my grandmother? You f***ing imbecile. Get out.'
In the book, Lownie details Andrew's allegedly bizarre behaviour at parties where he loved to play 'choo-choo trains' in which party-goers would make a conga line and make train noises.
He was also dubbed a 'nightmare to sit next to' with one friend quoted as saying, 'He makes ghastly jokes about whether you're wearing knickers. And you can't tell him to sod off'.
Another woman told Lownie: 'One minute you're having your bum pinched and the next minute he's reminding you he's Your Royal Highness'.
Of the altercation between Prince Andrew and Prince Harry, the book says it was triggered by something 'Andrew said behind Harry's back'.
Lownie claims that Andrew, behind closed doors, voiced scepticism about Harry's relationship with actress Meghan Markle, allegedly calling her an 'opportunist' and predicting that the marriage wouldn't last.
But Harry was quick to shut down those claims over the weekend. In a rare move, his spokesperson issued a statement to say 'I can confirm neither of those things are true'.
'Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry.'

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu blasts Australia's Gaza protests as ‘shameful' after Sydney Harbour Bridge march

Benjamin Netnayahu has blasted Australian protests against the war in Gaza, calling them 'shameful' and saying they 'buy into' Hamas propaganda. The Israeli Prime Minister overnight held a press conference in English to set the record straight, as he sees it, after Western allies, including Australia, condemned his plan to occupy all of Gaza. An Australian journalist asked Mr Netanyahu if his Western counterparts, who consistently support the Israel's right to defend itself, 'are now struggling to stomach what they're seeing you and your military doing in Gaza'. 'First of all, those who say that Israel has a right to defend itself are also saying, 'but don't exercise that right,'' Mr Netanyahu told reporters. 'When we do what any country would do, faced with this genocidal terrorist organisation that has performed the worst attack on Jews since the Holocaust.' The war in Gaza was sparked by Hamas' October 7 attacks on Israel in 2023. Militants killed more than 1200 in the shock assault, slaughtering entire families. Much of the violence was celebrated by perpetrators and sympathisers online. Israel's furious response has decimated Hamas, but also killed tens of thousands in the process. Most of the dead are civilians, including women, children and aid workers. Me Netanyahu said his country was 'actually applying force judiciously, and they know it'. 'They know what they would do if right next to Melbourne, or right next to Sydney, you had this horrific attack,' he said. 'I think you would do at least what we're doing … maybe not as efficiently and as precisely as we're doing it.' He went on to say Israelis were 'against the Palestinian state for the simple reason that they know it won't bring peace'. 'It'll bring war,' Mr Netanyahu said, directly countering rhetoric put forward by the Albanese government. 'To have European countries and Australia march into that … rabbit hole just like that, fall right into it and buy, this canard is disappointing, and I think it's actually shameful. 'But it's not going to … change our position. 'Again, we will not commit national suicide to get to get a good op-ed for two minutes. We won't do that.' More to come.

6.54am While you were sleeping Here's what's making news further afield this morning: One hundred days in, how does the prime minister measure up? A right-wing activist group which came to prominence campaigning against the proposed Indigenous Voice to parliament, has launched a campaign to kill off 'weakling' Liberals who support the net zero climate target, heightening Coalition tension over energy policy. The Reserve Bank of Australia will begin its two-day deliberations later today ahead of an official interest rate decision on Tuesday, in which a cut is all but guaranteed. An interest rate reduction would mark the third this year, and follow a shock decision last month to deny relief to Australian home buyers and businesses. It comes after the June-quarter inflation figures showed headline inflation at its lowest levels since early 2021, while underlying inflation also eased. CSIRO researchers say they've developed a new algorithm that can block images from being used to create deepfakes, as Australian state governments scramble to criminalise sexually explicit AI-generated content. Labor is about to dump proposed new laws to regulate artificial intelligence as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's caucus splits on whether to clamp down on the sprawling technology. And Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has branded Australia 'shameful' in its advocacy for Palestinian statehood, 6.40am The top stories this morning Good morning, and welcome to Brisbane Times' news blog for Monday, August 11. Today we can expect a cloudy day and a top temperature of 22 degrees. In this morning's local headlines: Brisbane's Olympic Games organising committee faced an unexpected challenge in their bid to protect Games branding when a local council beat them to the trademark for 'Logan 2032' by just 13 days. Six people, including a woman in a critical condition, were hospitalised after a three-car collision in Logan on Saturday night, while another man was struck in a separate hit-and-run in Logan after a road-rage row. The NRL Integrity Unit has requested an explanation from South Sydney after star recruit Brandon Smith was stopped by police at Coolangatta airport ahead of his 150th NRL game on Sunday against the Titans. As an 11-year-old, several rare tumours were removed from Max Shearer's brain and donated to the Queensland Children's Tumour Bank for research into childhood cancer. Since then, the now 21-year-old has raised $150,000 for the foundation to help other sick kids. Six nights, three lodges: is this Queensland getaway Australia's most luxurious? And it was a mostly disappointing weekend for Queensland NRL and AFL teams. After the Broncos' injury-laden Thursday loss to the Storm, the Lions were pipped at the post by the Swans in an overcast Gabba thriller on Saturday, while the Dolphins were blasted off the park in a 52-point demolition by the Sydney Roosters – however, the Gold Coast Suns scored a win over Carlton. On Sunday, the Titans and the Cowboys suffered narrow losses, to the Rabbitohs and Eels respectively, but the
