'He was a massive life force' - bandmate remembers Tom Parker
One of Tom Parker's bandmates has remembered him as a "massive life force".
The Wanted star Tom, who was from Bolton, tragically died in 2022 at the age of 33, 17 months after announcing his diagnosis with an inoperable brain tumour.
Now, his bandmate Jay McGuiness has spoken out about the late star as part of BBC Two's Pilgrimage: The Road Through The Alps, which sees celebrities of differing faiths and beliefs walk together through the Austrian and Swiss Alps.
The 34-year-old reflects on Tom's death in the reality programme and told ITV's Good Morning Britain that grieving publicly can come with feelings of 'shame'.
He said: 'Especially with grief, there's often quite a lot of shame grieving publicly, and it's easy to feel like 'I don't want to cry' and all that sort of thing, and 'I hate the idea of crying'.
'I also am considering Tom's family and friends, wife and kids, every time I'm talking about him, whether I'm asked about him or not, that's a reminder about something that could be painful, that could be on the wrong day for them to hear about.

Speaking about Pilgrimage: The Road Through The Alps, McGuiness said he was 'never convinced that anyone knows' where people go after they die and added: 'I think maybe we don't find out until you're gone.'
Tom disclosed in October 2020 that he had been diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma and had begun radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
He married his wife Kelsey in 2018, and the couple had two children, Aurelia and Bodhi.
The Wanted formed in 2009, comprised of Parker and McGuiness, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Sykes, and had two UK number one singles and four UK top 10 albums, with best-known songs including All Time Low and Glad You Came.
McGuiness is currently playing William Shakespeare in the UK and Ireland tour of musical & Juliet.

'I'm a total idiot': Schwarzenegger on dancing in Netflix's 'Fubar' 2
At 77 years old, Arnold Schwarzenegger is playing the role that has always suited him best. In the Netflix series "Fubar," the Hollywood star and former Governor of California portrays an ageing action hero with a hefty dose of self-irony, delivering witty one-liners. It's clear that he is thoroughly enjoying himself. As of now (June 12), the streaming service is offering the delightfully over-the-top second season of "Fubar." Filming the new episodes was even more fun than the first season, says Arnie. "I think it was more fun because we knew each other," he cheerfully tells dpa. Schwarzenegger returns as CIA agent Luke Brunner, a native Austrian who is on the brink of retirement. At the start of season two, Luke is holed up in a safe house with his ex-wife Tally (Fabiana Udenio), his daughter and CIA colleague Emma (Monica Barbaro), Tally and Emma's ex-partners, and several CIA colleagues after their secret identities have been exposed. But the house is a little too small for this many people. "Everyone hears everything. Everyone sees everything. We are starting to get on each other's nerves," Schwarzenegger explains. "It's really, really funny. But (...) then it just goes from these very comedic scenes to a full-blast action scene. Then all of a sudden, you see the action." The nods to classic action films are intentional. "I'm back!" the "Terminator" star exclaims in the very first episode. Together, the two had to take down an arms dealer while repairing their father-daughter relationship. In the new episodes, they continue to engage in many amusing verbal sparring matches while tackling action-packed espionage missions—and ultimately trying to save the world. New to the cast is "Matrix" star Carrie-Anne Moss, who plays Greta, a former East German agent who once had a passionate affair with Luke. Luke had believed her to be dead, but now she completely disrupts his professional and personal life. In one of the best scenes, Greta forces Luke to dance. This naturally brings back memories of another Schwarzenegger action classic. "I danced a lot of hours for 'True Lies', and I practised a lot for this dance," the 77-year-old says. "I have to say that I'm a total idiot when it comes to dancing. It doesn't come natural." His dance partner Moss disagrees. "It's not true," she says. "You made it look like you did." Spoiler: She's right. It also gets funny when the two discuss the challenges of ageing, like the struggle to find a "funny line" when killing someone. Schwarzenegger: Some actors are 'miserable bastards' Schwarzenegger is, of course, not known for being a character actor. But "Fubar" is a perfect fit for him. It's still fun to watch the action icon — especially because "Arnie" himself is visibly having fun. "Some actors, they're miserable bastards," he jokes. "I'm not I'm not one of them. I don't even know why they're miserable because they have their wish. We're talking about famous actors that are very successful, but that you can see in their faces. They're cranky, they're angry." Schwarzenegger says he's happy to be able to work. "I always have fun. I'm so happy that I get to work, that I have a job, a challenge and good colleagues around me. I tell myself: 'Hey, who am I to complain? I'm having a great time.'" Many stunts done personally Even in his late 70s, Schwarzenegger says it was important to him to perform as many stunts as possible himself. "That stuff that was very easy to do when I was in my 40s is now much more difficult," he admits. "But when you get to a certain age, you want to make sure that you still can do the things. You practice earlier, you rehearse with the stunt guys, you try to figure out how are you going to fall there, how are you going to roll out of the scene and all of this stuff." Alongside the upbeat Schwarzenegger and co-star Moss, Oscar-nominated Monica Barbaro ("A Complete Unknown") shines as the perfect counterbalance to her father. Comedians Fortune Feimster (Agent Roo) and Scott Thompson (therapist Dr Pfeffer), as well as guest appearances by Schwarzenegger's "True Lies" co-star Tom Arnold, provide lots of laughs. With plenty of humour and action, the second season of "Fubar" is at least as entertaining as the first. All eight episodes of the second season are available on Netflix as of Thursday (June 12).

During an interview with ITV's This Morning, 'America's Got Talent' judge Simon Cowell opened up about being a parent to a now 11-year-old son. And as his son continues to get older, Cowell admitted that he's getting more and more nervous about an upcoming milestone, giving Eric his first cell phone. 'If he couldn't, I would say, 'You know what, be a drummer'.' However, Cowell is confident he won't have to have that conversation because at just 11 years old, Eric is already proving he has musical talent. 'Eric actually can play the drums well but he's quite shy. I walk and I hear him, and he stops. I say, 'Why are you stopping?' and he says, 'Well, I'm a bit embarrassed' and I say, 'Well don't be, you're really good.''
