If Wednesday's New York Yankees-Kansas City Royals showdown features any fireworks, Jazz Chisholm Jr. has no plans on watching from the bench.

Chisholm is starting at third and hitting fifth for the Yankees, one night after leaving early with a neck injury. The Yankees' star slugger hurt himself on an attempted steal of third base following a rough tag from Royals third baseman Maikel Garcia.
According to ESPN, TV cameras caught Chisholm expressing his frustration to Yankees third base coach Luis Rojas.
"I'm going to tell you one more time," Chisholm reportedly said, "if he tags me like that one more time, I'm going to smack the [expletive] out of him."
To his credit, Garcia made it clear he's "waiting" for Chisholm's response.
"It's just talk," Garcia told reporters.

Chisholm's feud with Garcia dates back to last October, when he called his Royals counterpart a "sore loser" and accused him of trying to injure Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe.

"I just feel like every time we have a problem, it's always been him," Chisholm said Tuesday. He also suffered a cut on his right thumb, though neither his hand nor his neck were enough to keep him out of Wednesday's lineup.
Chisholm has been on fire since returning from the IL last week, going 9-for-25 with two home runs, seven RBI, and four stolen bases in that span. He's raised his average to .215 and his OPS to .770, quickly erasing any doubts about how he'd fare upon returning to third base.

Chisholm has nine homers, 24 RBI, and 1.6 bWAR through 152 plate appearances for the first-place Yankees.

"And like, you know, they've only started winning recently and the air in the clubhouse is different when there's like expectations and things like that." "Even with different personnel, the vibe in the Astros' clubhouse has always been the same, the standard has always been high even through new managers... You know, if I'm a bettin' man, and I'm betting what team do I think has a better record at the end, I still kind of feel like it's the Astros."
