Joe Root hit a magnificent hundred on day three of the Fourth Test between England's 2-1 lead on India at Old Trafford.
Root's 38th Test century bumped him up to second on the all-time leading run-scorers list in Test cricket.
But it was Stokes, 34, that hit the headlines after the ball caught him in his genitals.
Stokes was batting when a ferocious shot rocketed between his bat and, well, found its mark.
Cameras zoomed on Stokes writhing in pain, leading to a wave of sympathetic groans from viewers at home.
The commentator said: "Oh! Movement, pain. He's been hit in the midships again."
While Prakash Wakankar on comms joked about what the physio could do about it.
The British commentator then added: "Sorry if you heard any expletives there, but perhaps you can understand why."

A third added: "That's got to hurt."
Stokes, ever the warrior, eventually picked himself up, though with a noticeable limp to remain not out as England went 544-7 after the first Innings.
England lead India by 186 runs with three wickets remaining.
Meanwhile, Root pushed past Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis and Ricky Ponting while scoring 150.
It's now only Sachin Tendulkar keeping him off the summit.

The Yorkshireman, 34, has a way to go to eclipse The Little Master's tally of 15,921.
He needs a further 2,513 runs to become No 1 - but at the relatively young age of 34, Tendulkar's record seems achievable.

Hugo Keenan - Lions win was 'a moment you play rugby for and you dream of'

Hugo Keenan, the British and Irish Lions' match hero, was resolute in his decision to score the game-winning try against Australia, despite head coach Andy Farrell's pleas for him to pass. With just 51 seconds remaining, Keenan sprinted over the line to give the Lions their first lead in a thrilling 29-26 victory at Melbourne Cricket Ground, securing a series win with one match still to play. The Ireland full-back had Jack Conan as an option on his outside, but he chose to kick into high gear, outpacing Len Ikitau to score the try. Farrell said: 'I was screaming, pass it, pass it, pass it! And knowing Hugo, he was never going to pass it! He was always going to back himself!' Keenan saw his chance and took it as the Lions completed a magnificent comeback in the second Test, having trailed 23-5 after just half an hour. 'Andy mentioned it after. I think he backed me in the end. Jack was outside and he would have finished it himself, but where there's a will there's a way!' Keenan said. 'It's a bit surreal. It was a class moment. It was off the back two minutes of phase attack, the lads digging deep. 'It meant the world to myself and everybody that was out there, the 23, the lads who weren't playing, the backroom staff, the 50,000 Lions supporters out there and everyone at home. It's a really special moment. 'I jumped into the crowd at the end a few times! It was unbelievable walking around the stadium. My parents were there, my brother, my uncle and aunt, my girlfriend. 'I've about 10 friends over from Ireland who have spent a bomb to be here but they are all saying it is absolutely worth it. Really cool moments which make it extra special.' The try was a personal triumph for Keenan, who entered the Lions camp with a calf injury and was then struck by a stomach bug that lasted for 12 days, resulting in him losing a stone in weight. 'It's been a mad whole trip. It's not how I imagined it going, getting sick for two weeks and coming in to camp a bit injured,' he said.. 'It's been a rollercoaster but these things happen for a reason and thankfully I was in full health come the last two Tests. I'm delighted to be involved and delighted that we got the result. 'It's special moments having our family and friends out on the pitch with us at the end. It's those moments you play rugby for and you dream of.'

Padraig Harrington takes two-shot lead heading into the final round at Senior Open Championship

Padraig Harrington will take a two-stroke lead into the final round of the Senior Open Championship at Sunningdale after posting a second successive 65 at the famous venue. The Dubliner recorded six birdies in his third round, which included a lengthy putt from off the green on the par-three 13th and a birdie at the last after a scintillating approach from the right-side rough left him with a tap-in to reach 13-under after 54 holes. His third round contained just one bogey, after missing the fairway left at the 12th and being forced to lay up. Closing out in style 👊🏻🇮🇪 #SeniorOpen | @padraig_h — DP World Tour (@DPWorldTour) July 26, 2025 In the final round, Harrington will be paired with 1997 Open Champion Justin Leonard, who also posted a 65, which contained seven birdies and two dropped shots, leaving him at 11-under heading into Sunday. One stroke further back is Thomas Bjorn, who had a frustrating day on the greens but registered timely back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17 to get to 10-under. There are a quartet of players in tied-fourth on eight-under par, including Kevin Sutherland and Steven Alker. Ernie Els, on seven-under, enters the final round six adrift of Harrington after a sluggish start to his round on Saturday. After his 65 on Friday, Harrington admitted he rode his luck after a "weird" round and wasn't much more enamoured with how he struck the ball today. "I still wasn't comfortable," Harrington told Sky Sports after his round. "I don't think I rode my luck as much today. I certainly didn't play much better than yesterday. Maybe a bit more cautious today. "I don't feel very good about how I'm hitting the ball. I'm trying to get away from that and not worry about that because clearly I'm scoring well. Better off shooting 13-under par and not feeling so good about it than thinking you're swinging it great and being level par. "I just need to get out and play golf tomorrow. Hit the right shot at the right time rather than just play, swing." Both he and Leonard are vying to become the fifth player to add the Senior Open Championship to the Open Championship, after Darren Clarke, Tom Watson, Gary Player and Bob Charles. Harrington, who won his second US Senior Open last month, is attempting to become the third Irish winner of the event, after Clarke (2022) and the late Christy O'Connor Jnr, who won it two years in succession in 1999 and 2000. As far as the prospect of joining that select group, Harrington wasn't looking too far ahead. "I'm not going to think about that. Those are the sort of things where you're getting ahead of yourself. I'll wait til tomorrow to try and digest that."

The forward could feature in an Arsenal shirt for the first time on Thursday as Arsenal start pre-season with victory against poor AC Milan side Gyokeres spent five years in British football between 2018 and 2023 across spells at Brighton, Swansea and Coventry. The impressive forward particularly excelled with the latter, scoring 43 times in 116 outings for the Sky Blues. Goals flowed even more freely for Gyokeres after he completed a £21m move to Portuguese giants Sporting two years ago. The 6ft 2in ace crashed in 97 goals and 102 appearances for the Lisbon side, including a stunning Champions League hat-trick against Manchester City last season. Gyokeres now fills a gaping hole in Arsenal's front line. With Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz both out injured during the second half of last season, boss Arteta frequently had to play midfielder Mikel Merino as a makeshift No9. The Spaniard has now landed the combative, prolific front man that he so desired. Gyokeres is the sixth signing of what has been a busy summer window at the Emirates. He follows Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera through the door at the Emirates. 4
