Post your questions for Lush frontwoman Miki Berenyi
In her memoir, Berenyi charted her path through a troubled childhood and into the late-80s UK music scene, where Lush initially distinguished themselves from their moodier shoegaze peers with bright, chiming guitars and Berenyi's wistfully beautiful vocal lines. As Britpop became a pop cultural phenomenon, the band upped the tempo, sharpened their focus, and wrote songs which still stand out: Single Girl and Ladykillers, both Top 30 hits, eye-rollingly lamented toxic male suitors, while Ciao! was an evocative duet with Jarvis Cocker.
The band ended in tragedy after the suicide of their drummer Chris Acland, and Berenyi left music behind for a time, working as a subeditor for a magazine publisher. Lush briefly reformed in 2016, and in 2022, Berenyi published her memoir Fingers Crossed: How Music Saved Me from Success, described by the Observer's Kitty Empire as 'a salutary corrective to a much mythologised musical era; it's often extremely funny. But it's also a nuanced portrait of personal survival.'
Berenyi has also fronted Piroshka, a band featuring members of Elastica, Modern English and Moose, the latter namely her partner Kevin McKillop. The couple have since formed the Miki Berenyi Trio alongside guitarist Oliver Cherer, and are gearing up to release their debut album Tripla on 4 April.
Ahead of its release, Berenyi will answer your questions – post them in the comments below before Monday 17 February. Her answers will be published later that week.

Oasis fan felt 'like family member had died' after £250 Murrayfield ticket was bogus
Instead of singing her heart out all night, Charisse was left 'bawling her eyes out' when she said the ticket she purchased wouldn't load outside the stadium. An Oasis fan has told how she felt like she had experienced a "death in the family" after her ticket to see the Britpop brothers at Murrayfield turned out to be bogus. Charisse Quinn, from East Ayrshire, had got herself fully kitted out for the gig and splurged on a £250 ticket from resale site Viagogo for the last night of the Edinburgh stint of the Live '25 tour on Tuesday, August 12. But instead of singing her heart out all night, the 42-year-old was left crying her eyes out, when the ticket she purchased failed to load outside the stadium. After being contacted by Edinburgh Live, Viagogo bosses apologised to Charisse and confirmed she received a refund and was given the opportunity to see Oasis another night. Speaking to Edinburgh Live she said: "I'd finished night shift on the Tuesday morning and came home for a couple hours sleep. "My partner had bought the ticket on Friday and all day on Tuesday we were waiting for them to send the actual ticket, but they said that it was going to be guaranteed. Regardless, but nothing came of it. "My partner was working and he couldn't concentrate at his work because he was too busy trying to get in touch with Viagogo." When arriving the ticket didn't load and Charisse was unable to get into the gig. She said: "I'm still heartbroken about it. I went back to work last night and I'm a mental health nurse so all my patients were asking me how it was and it's just, I know this sounds really dramatic right, but it actually feels like a death in the family. "Because I was that excited for it, especially since it was a last minute ticket purchase and then this happened. "The fact that I spent money on my whole outfit as well as getting there. Before that I was out for drinks with some of my friends and all that and it was just such a high and then I was absolutely devastated." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! A Viagogo spokesperson said: "Viagogo is a safe, secure and regulated marketplace. We are aware of an isolated issue affecting a customer who was unable to access their tickets for the Oasis event on 12 August 2025, despite receiving a ticket transfer confirmation from a fan seller. "This incident fell short of Viagogo's standards and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this caused. The customer has received a refund and given the opportunity to see Oasis another night. "There is no financial incentive for sellers to list tickets on our marketplace that they cannot deliver, since they are not paid until after the buyer successfully gets into the event. Sellers in breach of our terms and conditions will face consequences including fines and removal from the platform."

Amazon shoppers swear by 'breath-taking' £20 scent that 'lasts a whole day'
'Every time I wear it, I feel confident, polished, and a little more myself. The bottle is gorgeous, too — a perfect reflection of the fragrance inside. A true gem in my collection' Amazon shoppers are flocking to buy a £21.99 perfume that they insist makes them feel confident. Khamrah by Lattafa is proving popular on shopping giant Amazon with it having over 25,000 ratings. Khamrah is quite spice forward, opening up with cinnamon and nutmeg which is brightened with bergamot. The heart is a warm blend of dates, praline, tuberose and mahonial. It rounds out with a warm base of vanilla, tonka bean, amberwood, myrrh, benzoin and akigalawood. This is a great option as autumn slowly approaches. For those who like the date note but want something sweeter then perhaps Lush's £28 Sticky Dates is worth checking out. Khamrah has been compared to Angel's Share by Kilian (£310) although while the packaging is similar there are not many overlapping notes. How to get Sol de Janeiro's new 'seductive' summer fragrance for under £9 Lorraine Kelly's makeup artist shares anti-ageing product from Boots for 'dewy' skin Khamrah has pulled in an average of 4.5 out of 5 from 25,343 global ratings. One shopper said: "The bottle is stunning—heavy, well-designed, and comes in premium packaging that feels high-end. Performance is excellent with long-lasting wear and strong projection. Perfect for evening wear or colder months, Khamrah is a standout choice for anyone who loves warm, sweet, and seductive scents without the designer price tag." Another insisted it boosted their mood, writing: "This perfume is simply breath-taking. The scent opens with a beautiful burst of freshness and gently melts into warm, sophisticated notes that linger all day. It strikes the perfect balance between subtle and noticeable — never too strong, but impossible to ignore. Every time I wear it, I feel confident, polished, and a little more myself. The bottle is gorgeous, too — a perfect reflection of the fragrance inside. A true gem in my collection!" The spices can be quite divisive, with one shopper saying: "I saw all the hype about Khamrah by Lattafa and decided to blind buy it. It's a really strong fragrance, but I didn't like it because the cinnamon was too much for me. If you love cinnamon, you'll probably enjoy it, but it's not my type. The first day I wore it, it was so strong that someone complimented me at night, even though I had sprayed it in the morning! The longevity is crazy. I ended up giving it to my friend, and she loves it." Another review commented on a booziness in Khamrah, that we often see noted in the more expensive Angel's Share people associate with the scent. They said: "The fragrance is sweet boozey and spicy and settles down after it dries down to a sweet and spicy fragrance. Absolutely love the longevity and projection. Easily lasts a whole day long on my skin. Great value for money."
