Nikita Tszyu causes stir with breast milk, placenta acts

New father Nikita Tszyu has revealed he's been drinking his wife's breast milk and using her frozen placenta as a supplement as he prepares for his long-awaited boxing comeback next week.
Known as Australian boxing's dark prince, Tszyu also revealed that older brother Tim is heading to Japan and won't be at his fight against Lulzim Ismaili on Wednesday, August 20.
Tszyu, who welcomed his first child – a daughter named Curiosity – in June made his breast milk revelation this week.
'It's available and it tastes good,' he told Code Sports moments after meeting Ismaili face-to-face for the first time on Thursday.
'It's not for strength gains or anything like that. I'm drinking it because it's available.
'My wife eats a very clean diet and she's pumping out very pure breastmilk, so why not?'
As the news swept through Australian boxing on Thursday, cruiserweight world champion Jai Opetaia even weighed in, saying: 'There's actually no need to do that, bro,' with Nikita responding: 'Don't knock it till you try it!'
Tszyu seemed surprised at the reaction to his newfound hydration method.
'Everyone does it. Everyone's tried it. We've all been a little bit curious,' he said. 'We've just had a baby, so where else do you get it from?
'I'm still yet to do a breastmilk cappuccino, but that's the next step.
'We need more breastmilk though.'
Just add it to the list of quirky Nikita Tszyu tales.
Last week Code Sports revealed he had recently spent a morning as a tourist at the Erotic Heritage Museum in Las Vegas.
'It was quite beautiful really,' he said of his solo escapade. 'Sex is usually hidden and frowned upon in our society these days.
'I like the reactions I got when I showed people what I bought. It was just fun.'
Two years ago he revealed he ate a still-beating snake heart before drinking its blood while on a training camp in Thailand.
Nikita Bedwell and Nikita Tszyu.
More recently, he confirmed his wife – also named Nikita – freeze-dried her placenta, and 'The Butcher' is using it as a supplement during training camp.
Random side quests and unique diets aside, Tszyu says he is a changed man in the two months since Curiosity arrived.
'Looking into her eyes, it gives me so much strength,' he said. 'Coming home each day after a hard training session, my body is just thrashed and I see that little face.
'It gives me all this energy and all this light. It reminds of why I'm doing this.
'I want to keep my family life and my boxing life separate, so even when I come home from training, there's no boxing talk. Unless I want to talk about it, home is my way of escaping from this world.
'Boxing is quite crazy and chaotic and there's a lot of stress that can be obtained.
'Home is my safe place away from it.'

Tszyu says mum and baby will stay at home when he steps into the ring for the first since his war with Koen Mazoudier last August, and revealed older brother Tim won't be at the bout either.
The fight will be one month and a day since Tim's loss to Sebastian Fundora, and 'The Soul Taker' – who has attended every one of Nikita's bouts – is taking some time away from boxing.
That includes training for a marathon, and heading overseas.
'He's going to Japan – he needs some time off and time away just to reset himself,' Nikita said. 'The boxing world is cruel, and full of assholes who are full of things to say that are all bullsh*t.
'He just needs to go away and do what he needs to do.'
It's a double-edged sword for Nikita.
'I'm kind of jealous – I want to go to Japan,' he said. 'I feel like I was Japanese in a past life.
'I'm so drawn to that country and their culture. I wish I was Japanese.
'I've been once, when I was about 17. It's beautiful. I can't wait to go back.'

Jimmy Recard comes out on top after tough battle in Group 3 Vain Stakes at Caulfield

Don't miss out on the headlines from Horse Racing. Followed categories will be added to My News. 'J.R., Jimmy Recard. Raise your glass for the king of the bar.' Art again proved prophetic after Jimmy Recard's latest win in Saturday's Group 3 Vain Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield. Jimmy Recard, named after a 2008 song by Perth hip hop artist Drapht, gave his large band of owners a third opportunity to celebrate a win when he denied Tycoon Star in a physical finish to the Vain Stakes. Tycoon Star looked set to post a first-up win when he got into the clear early in the straight but laid in over the last 200m while Jamie Melham drove Jimmy Recard along the inside section of the track. Tycoon Star bumped Jimmy Recard but the Ciaron Maher-trained colt had a half-head to spare on the line, posting his third win in four starts. 'I just think he's improving every time he runs,' Maher said of the Bennett Racing-syndicated three-year-old. 'We had notions of taking him for a stakes race in Adelaide but we thought we'd reset for the spring. 'He's certainly started the spring the right way.' Maher combined with Bennett Racing to race Southport Tycoon, who won two Group 1 races before heading to stand at Widden Stud. Maher hoped Jimmy Recard could improve sufficiently to follow Southport Tycoon to stud. 'I was at the stallion parades for Southport Tycoon yesterday when Widden were introducing him. Hopefully this can be the next one,' Maher said. 'He's certainly a very well-bred colt and he's a great type. 'He's got a bright future.' Tycoon Star's jockey Mark Zahra said the Lindsay Park-trained colt had his opportunity to win at his first start since the Group 1 Golden Slipper. 'He was going to win but he was first-up and the winner's come along the fence where nothing has come all day,' Zahra said. 'He was strong enough to the line but I think he had his chance, he's still green though.' R5 Caulfield (VIC) 1100m Prize: $200,000 Soft 6 View Form 1st 5. ‘Diabolical': Horrible news for Brisbane Lions star

Don't miss out on the headlines from AFL. Followed categories will be added to My News. Brisbane's Jarrod Berry has suffered a 'diabolical' injury in a sad finish to the club's massive win over the Dockers on Friday night. The Lions secured a spot in the finals with a commanding 57-point win at Optus Stadium, but it has come at a cost with key midfielder Berry's return from a shoulder injury now a mystery. FOX FOOTY, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every match of every round in the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season LIVE in 4K, with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? Join now and get your first month for just $1. Berry suffered a dislocated shoulder injury when he was shoved in the back by Andrew Brayshaw in the final quarter. The 27-year-old was clearly not expecting contact as a loose ball bounced towards him before Brayshaw cannoned into his back. You can watch the incident in the video player above. Andrew Brayshaw shoves Jarrod Berry. Photo: Fox Footy. The contact sent Berry falling forwards where he put both hands out to brace for the impact of falling onto the turf. That impact was enough to force Berry's left upper arm bone to be dislodged from its shoulder socket. He was in obvious pain as he was helped from the field by medical officials with his shoulder looking all messed up. He was immediately subbed out of the game. Leading footy reporter Jon Ralph on Fox Footy called it 'diabolical for Jarrod Berry'. However, the Code Sports journalist reported on X on Saturday the club is hopeful Berry will be fit in time for the club's first game of the 2025 Finals Series. 'The Lions are fairly hopeful Berry will miss round 24 then be ready to play in a first final,' he posted. 'He is tough as nails. Scans tomorrow but he is prepared to play with the dislocation.' Berry has a history of multiple shoulder injuries. Ralph initially said on Fox Footy the injury looked 'diabolical'. 'So that is a horrible, horrible injury,' he said. 'He will know that the road ahead is very full of pitfalls.' Jarrod Berry of the Lions is assisted to the medical room. Photo by. Lions coach Chris Fagan said the injury 'didn't look good' during his post-match press conference. 'His other shoulder is the one he's had operated on,' Fagan said after the game. 'So now the other one's popped out. I don't know the full extent. Obviously, there'll be scans and stuff like that. It didn't look good. 'But sometimes they can find a way to strap them up and get them through the season and have an operation at the end of the year. 'It's not ideal. He's been one of our better players this year, very reliable leader. So fingers crossed for him.' The AFL has not announced its match review verdict from Friday night's matches but it is possible Brayshaw may be cited for the reckless contact. The win means the Lions have qualified for seven consecutive finals series. Originally published as 'Diabolical': Horrible news for Brisbane Lions star

TristanRogers dead at 79

Tristan Rogers has died at the age of 79. The Australian actor - who was best known for playing Robert Scorpio on General Hospital - passed away on Friday (15.08.25), just weeks after it was announced he had been diagnosed with cancer. His manager, Meryl Soodak, confirmed the news to ABC 7 Eyewitness News and reflected on how Tristan's long-time role on the medical drama had "meant everything to him". She added: "He loved being Scorpio and he created that role from nothing. "He was supposed to work a day and he ended up making it into something huge. He was just a genuinely loyal, kind human being and he loved his family." General Hospital's executive producer, Frank Valentini, said everyone who worked on the show had been left "heartbroken" by Tristan's death. He told People magazine in a statement: "The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers' passing. Tristan has captivated our fans for 45 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio). "I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. Tristan was a one-of-a-kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace. Co-star Emma Samms, who briefly dated Tristan and played his on-scren love interest Holly, was "grateful" they had worked together for so long. She wrote on social media: "I am incredibly sad to hear the news about Tristan. I loved working with him and we were both so grateful that we got the chance to do that for more than 40 years. "He taught me how to be comfortable in front of the cameras and he introduced me to spontaneity and fun even within all the trials and tribulations that Robert and Holly endured.' Genie Francis felt "lucky" to have known the star. She shared a photo of them together and wrote on X: "My heart is heavy. Goodbye my spectacular friend. My deepest condolences to his wife Teresa and their children. Tristan Rogers was a very bright light, as an actor and a person. I was so lucky to have known him." Rick Springfield remembered his late co-star as a "charming" and "witty bloke". He posted: "Aussies are made of tough stuff but even tough stuff has its expiration date. Our friend Tristan Rogers, a charming, self deprecating, handsome and witty bloke from the Great Southern Land went home today. Bless and keep your spirit Tristan. Cancer sucks." The veteran actor joined General Hospital as Robert Scorpio in 1980 before leaving in 1992 when his alter ego was apparently killed. He briefly reprised the role - in ghost form - for a week in 1995 and made sporadic appearances in 2006. In 2008, he joined General Hospital: Night Shift and also appeared in four episodes of the main show the same year. He made frequent further appearances between 2012 and 2018 and rejoined the cast on a more permanent basis from 2019, with his most recent appearance coming last year. Away from the medical drama, Tristan also had a stint as Colin Atkinson on The Young and the Restless, appeared in over 100 episodes of The Bay, and received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for his work in Studio City. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Parkerson, and children, Sara and Cale.
