🚨 Neymar completes stunning return to Santos
Brazilian icon Neymar has completed a stunning return to Santos from Saudi side Al-Hilal.
The Brazilian moved to Saudi Arabia in August 2023 but injuries saw him reduced to just seven appearances totalling 428 minutes of action.
As a result, Al-Hilal agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent, paving the way for the 32-year-old to return to his boyhood side on a free transfer.

He has signed an initial deal until the end of the season.
Prior to his move to Barcelona, Neymar appeared 225 times for Santos, still the most of any club in his career. In that time, he scored 136 goals and grabbed 64 assists.
Can he return to full fitness to help Brazil in the 2026 World Cup?

Angels' Mike Trout Inching Closer to Unexpected $50,000 Reward
Angels' Mike Trout Inching Closer to Unexpected $50,000 Reward originally appeared on Athlon Sports. One would understandably believe that Los Angeles Angels great Mike Trout would be satisfied with his $37.1 million salary for 2025. Advertisement In fairness to Trout, he's probably more than thrilled with his latest massive payday. However, that isn't stopping the three-time AL MVP from chasing some extra bucks in his latest All-Star Game push. Trout's 12-year, $426.5 million contract extension gives him a $50,000 bonus for winning All-Star Game MVP. Luckily for Trout, he currently ranks fourth among AL outfielders in All-Star voting. Major League Baseball announced on Monday that Trout had 889,474 votes, well ahead of Cleveland's Steven Kwan (810,746) and the New York Yankees' Cody Bellinger (712,153). Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike TroutDavid Banks-Imagn Images The top six outfielders advance to Phase 2, which begins June 30. However, the AL will likely only include four outfield finalists because the Yankees' Aaron Judge is guaranteed a starting spot if he leads the league in voting; indeed, Judge leads all players with nearly 2.7 million votes. Advertisement Trout is already a two-time All-Star Game MVP, so we certainly wouldn't be shocked to see him do it again. The nine-time Silver Slugger entered Wednesday hitting .225 with 12 home runs, 28 RBIs, and a .769 OPS. Although Trout is still a home run threat, he's only tallied two doubles in 221 plate appearances. His .439 slugging percentage looks acceptable at first glance—and it's well above the league average of .399—until you remember that Trout averaged a .587 slugging percentage from 2012-20 before injuries took their toll. Whether or not the 33-year-old Trout deserves an All-Star selection is up for debate. At his current pace, though, don't be surprised to see him at Atlanta's Truist Park next month. World Cup finalist Shaunagh Brown even more excited by home event
By Laura Howard, Sportsbeat While Shaunagh Brown represented England in the 2021 Rugby World Cup final, she insists she is even more excited for this summer with England set for a home World Cup. The former Red Rose and Harlequins player amassed 30 international caps and featured in England's agonising 34-31 defeat to New Zealand in the World Cup final in Auckland in 2021. Advertisement But though she will not be donning the white shirt this time out, the prospect of sell-out stadiums and a boom in visibility means Brown is more excited than ever for the summer ahead. 'I am looking forward to this World Cup more than I did the one I actually played in because it's at home,' said the prop. 'I've been part of the build-up, I've been on the trophy tour, I've been to the volunteer kick-off events and the buzz is unreal. 'The ticket sales just keep going up and up and the number of conversations I have with people telling me that they can't get tickets. That's incredible news because you're making them hot property if you can't get something, you want it even more. Advertisement 'I'm really excited to see how England perform.' Though New Zealand got the better of the Red Roses on their territory four years ago, Brown believes that hosting the tournament English soil can help them over the line to produce a moment akin to the Lionesses victory at Euro 2022. More importantly, though, she wants to see sporting bodies and authorities ensure momentum from the tournament is captured to keep shifting attitudes towards women's rugby. 'I still move in circles where people don't really know what rugby is and think it is just a sport that posh white boys do,' Brown explained. 'I hope we will get a Lionesses' moment, and I really hope England win the World Cup but it's all about the build-up, the tournament doing it right and local authorities getting involved. Advertisement 'It'll be people seeing, hearing, and realising that most people can play rugby and you don't have to be from a certain school or certain background or look a particular way. 'If you look at a lineup of a rugby team there's such a variation in shape, size, skin colour and hair type and you think, 'Oh maybe rugby is for me. Maybe I can do that. She looks like me, she sounds like me, maybe I can give it a go.'' The importance of role models was brought home to Brown as she spoke on the final day of the Youth Sport Trust's National School Sports Week at Torriano Primary School in Camden. Alongside Olympic sprinter Montell Douglas and Paralympic footballer Alistair Patrick-Heselton, Brown got involved in a carousel of different activities led by the pupils as they celebrated the importance of being active. Advertisement Torriano encourages activity everyday with pupils wearing active footwear and no uniform so that they are able to hit their recommended 60 minutes of activity each day. Brown and her sporting peers also participated in a Q&A to inspire the Torriano pupils, who were dressed up as their sporting heroes for Sports Star Friday. 'We want people to participate, we want people to enjoy winning but as a mass group of children and in a whole generation we just want to encourage movement,' explained Brown. 'I'm very passionate about the active uniform principle. It's about not making it a big thing that you have to get changed into your PE kit before you can run. Advertisement 'Actually, just make activity a normal part of their everyday with no barriers. They're in the playground because they've got trainers on so they can just run around.' National School Sports Week is an annual campaign by the Youth Sport Trust, dedicated to celebrating the power of PE, sport, and play to build brighter futures. This year, powered by Sports Direct x Under Armour, marks the 30th anniversary of the Youth Sport Trust, who is a UK leading children's charity for improving young people's wellbeing through sport and play. Happy Birthday, Messi! Top World Cup, Copa America moments from his big day
Lionel Messi turns 38 on Tuesday and the greatest to ever do it has gifted fans with some incredible feats on the pitch throughout the years. With the Inter Miami star's birthday falling on June 24, he's often on duty with Argentina during his big day. As such, some of his biggest games at the World Cup and Copa América happen around that date. And not all of them are the happiest of times. As we celebrate yet another year of Messi, let's look back at his most memorable birthday moments: 2006: World Cup (Germany) Age: 19 What a way to celebrate your 19th birthday! Messi actually made his World Cup debut as an 18-year-old phenom in a group stage game against Serbia & Montenegro on June 16, scoring his first goal ever at the tournament. But on the day he turned 19, Messi played 36 minutes in the 2-1 win over Mexico in the Round of 16. Days later, he could only watch as an unused sub as Argentina fell to Germany in the quarterfinals. 2010: World Cup (South Africa) Age: 23 Not the most memorable summer in terms of performances. Appearing in his second World Cup, Messi celebrated his birthday in between two Argentina wins. Coached by the late Diego Maradona, Argentina defeated Greece 2-0 in its last group stage game two days before Messi turned 23. Three days later, the Albiceleste beat Mexico in the Round of 16 to reach the quarterfinals. Messi had no goals (the only World Cup in which he didn't score) during the tournament and Argentina were bounced out by Germany once again. 2014: World Cup (Brazil) Age: 27 Before his third World Cup, Messi famously declared one wish for his 27th birthday – to finally win it all. So on the day before his actual cumpleaños, Messi scored two goals against Nigeria in a June 25 group stage win and it seemed his wish would come to fruition. Alas, another loss to Germany (this time in the actual final on July 14) ensured that his wish would stay unfulfilled. 2015: Copa América (Chile) Age: 28 A most tense birthday as Messi prepared to turn 28 and take on Colombia on June 26 in the Copa América quarterfinals. Argentina needed penalties to advance and eventually reached the July 4 final against hosts Chile. But Messi's luck ran out as Chile pulled off the upset and left him another year without a major trophy. 2016: Copa América Centenario (USA) Age: 29 Ever feel like some birthdays are repeats of previous ones? No doubt this one did for Messi. Two days after turning 29, he and Argentina lost to Chile again in the Copa America final on June 26 on penalties. Three years straight in a major final, and three defeats. After the heartbreaker in East Rutherford, N.J., Messi announced his retirement from international duty. Luckily, he would reverse his decision just two months later in August. 2018: World Cup (Russia) Age: 31 Yet another disappointing birthday for Messi on the pitch. Just days before, Argentina had suffered a 3-0 loss to Croatia on June 21 – their heaviest defeat in a World Cup group stage game since 1958. More concerning was the image of Messi looking stressed and seemingly suffering a headache before that game. Then, two days after turning 31, Messi looked to be in better spirits at the team's 2-1 win over Nigeria – in which he scored his only goal of the tournament. 2021: Copa América (Brazil) Age: 34 A birthday celebration worthy of a trophy! The 2020 edition of the Copa América had been delayed after the COVID-19 pandemic and moved to Brazil. It was there that Messi, after turning 34 during the group-stage phase of the tournament, guided Argentina to its first Copa trophy since 1993. And with Messi finally claiming his first major piece of silverware with Argentina, it was a summer to remember. 2024: Copa América (USA) Age: 38 After winning the World Cup during the winter of 2022 in Qatar, the next major tournament for Messi to celebrate with his Argentina teammates was at the 2024 Copa América. With several ornate cakes adorned with sparklers and a replica World Cup trophy at the team's hotel in New Jersey, the Albiceleste had plenty to celebrate at the captain's 38th birthday bash. Repeating as Copa América champions also didn't hurt the party. Want great stories delivered right to your inbox?
