Passengers hopeful of Vande Bharat train connecting Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar with Pune

Time of India5 days ago
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Speculations are rife that the Vande Bharat train expected to run on Pune-Shegaon route is likely to pass through Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
At present, Jalna-Mumbai Vande Bharat train passes through the city.
Its services are scheduled to be extended to Nanded soon.
Railway activist Raj Somani said a Vande Bharat train on Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Pune route would be a boon for passengers, and the Railway Board should clear the new train at the earliest. "There is no proper train connectivity between Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar at present. A Vande Bharat train on this route would be a win-win situation for the
Indian Railways
and passenger community," he said.
If introduced, Vande Bharat train would also be of help to devotees visiting the temple town of Shegaon from Buldhana district.
Public relations officer of Central Railway PD Patil said there is no official communication about starting a Vande Bharat train on Pune-Buldhana route.

This route is likely to be a boon for pilgrims and tourists, especially those heading to Shegaon, home to the famous Gajanan Maharaj Temple in Maharashtra. Pune–Vadodara Vande Bharat This high-speed connection will likely halt at Lonavala, Panvel, Vapi, and Surat, reducing the journey time between Pune and Vadodara from the usual 9 hours to around 6–7 hours. The route is expected to boost business and tourism links between Maharashtra and Gujarat. Pune–Secunderabad Vande Bharat Connecting two major IT and education hubs, this route is expected to stop at Daund, Solapur, and Gulbarga (Kalaburagi). It would help you to save 2–3 hours compared to current travel times on the same corridor. ‘Peak Indian Railways innovation': Viral Reddit post shows passenger casually resting on train's luggage rack

A photo of a passenger casually lying on a luggage rack in the chair car coach of an Indian train has sparked plenty of reactions online. The image shows the man casually using his phone as if he was resting on a regular train berth. Shared on Reddit's r/IndianRailways, the image captures the man stretched out in the overhead space, nestled amid several bags. The post was humorously titled, 'Bro needs to hesitate,' with a caption that read, 'Bro was so desperate, he literally lied into the luggage compartment of the chair car.' According to comments, the snapshot was likely taken mid-journey by another commuter. The photo quickly went viral, drawing a mix of amusement, concern, and social commentary. One Redditor joked, 'This is peak Indian Railways innovation,' while another took a more serious tone, saying, 'Bro needs to be in jail for putting others' lives in danger.' Many pointed out that while this kind of 'jugaad' might seem funny, it poses serious safety risks. A user commented, 'How is that even allowed, even in CCs running in Bihar, at most they allow people in alleyway, but never on luggage rack.' Another added a biting observation: 'Tbh an average Indian is considered as luggage here, the way our trains are packed (UP and Bihar trains specifically) it's clearly a luggage because no sane human travel this way.' Some people, though, could relate. One wrote, 'I was in the same situation, but it was grill in the passenger compartment. Had to because during Pongal, it's hard even to find a place to stand.' Odd seating arrangements on Indian trains are hardly new. Last year, a video surfaced showing a passenger crafting a DIY hammock between berths in a packed train, turning heads for his creativity in making space where there was none.

Indian Man Compares Cleanliness In India And Hong Kong, Sparks Discussion

An Indian travel vlogger's video comparing cleanliness in India and Hong Kong has gone viral, sparking a discussion on civic responsibility. In the clip shared on Instagram, vlogger Samal is seen walking along a pristine riverside in Hong Kong while pointing out what exactly makes foreign countries feel more "developed". "Kya hai foreign? Kuch bhi nahi hai foreign mein (What is so great about foreign countries? They have nothing). If we want to turn our cities into this, we can do so very easily. All we need is support from the government and the people. We have got it all - tall buildings, greenery, and rivers," he says in the video. What's missing? According to him, the missing piece is basic public discipline. "The only difference is cleanliness and civic sense. The roads here are clean. The flowerbeds only have flowers, not discarded gutka packets. Nobody has spat pan masala on them to change their colour. Nobody plucks flowers or steals plants," he says, as he shows spotless pavements and well-maintained flower beds. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Travel with Samal vlogs (@travelwithsamalvlogs) Further, the vlogger notes that the rivers in Hong Kong are free from plastic waste and garbage. "This is all a foreign country has, and we pay so much to come here. We could replicate this at home by learning from these countries. These might not seem like big issues, but such small actions are pushing India back. We are just as capable," he concludes. The video has struck a chord with social media users who agreed with the vlogger and called for a better civic sense. "Well said. We Indians have everything, except the much needed Civic sense," one user wrote. "When govt tried to give something new, we get amazed and everyone will just spoil it within few days. Example is vande bharat express. Some people just cant digest new developments," commented another. "I wish this could be replicated in India but we have no civic sense. We are too busy fighting over caste, religion and language to focus on such issues," remarked a third user. "I agree with you as I was also disappointed visiting Hong Kong. Felt nothing wow about the place. Similar malls. And they do have gallis with people who are poor too," one user wrote.
