Helen Mirren at 80: the actress' iconic looks through the decades

British actress Helen Mirren has said she is 'ageing with fun' rather than 'gracefully' as she marks her 80th birthday. The Academy Award-winning actress from London, who turned 80 on Saturday, is best known for playing Queen Elizabeth in The Queen and detective Jane Tennison in Prime Suspect. She will also star in the upcoming Netflix film adaptation of The Thursday Murder Club, based on the book series by Richard Osman. In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, Mirren said she feels 'insulted' when people tell her she looks good for her age, adding that she finds it 'patronising'. Mirren said: 'I am not ageing gracefully at all! I hate that term – it sounds like you have to be elegant and accepting, and, no, I am not. 'We just do grow older, there's no way you can escape that. You have to grow up with your own body, your own face and the way it changes,' she added. 'It's not always easy but it is inevitable. You have to learn to accept it.' Advertisement Mirren's fearlessness has also been reflected in her bold and ever-changing fashion choices over the decades. From youthful glamour to regal sophistication, her red carpet journey is a dazzling testament to ageing on her own terms. Here's a look back at the actress' most memorable looks, from the 1960s to today. Helen Mirren at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023. Apple heiress Eve Jobs' wedding was a star-studded affair nothing short of a scene from a film – set in a quaint and picturesque area around the Cotswolds, in western England, and complete with a performance by Sir Elton John Eve Jobs at her hen party in June. The two have been together since 2022, per Hello! magazine, but Eve only went 'Insta official' with Charles in mid-2024, after the showjumper won an Olympic gold medal. The four-day festivities reportedly cost US$6.7 million, per the Daily Mail. Here's everything to know about Eve Jobs' wedding. 'The sleepy village in which it's taking place feels like it's turning into a no-go zone, with secret service operatives and blokes who look like they work for the FBI,' a source told The US Sun. 'This is a very quiet place not far from the Cotswolds. Everyone is used to tourists and famous faces, but this is something else.' The venue was a stunning private estate

Alexandra Saint Mleux may not be getting behind the wheel on race weekends, but she's certainly one of the most recognisable faces in the Formula One paddock. Photo: @alexandrasaintmleux/Instagram While she maintains a career in arts – she studied the subject and currently runs an art-focused Instagram page – Saint Mleux's eye for fashion is what's getting her plenty of attention. In just over a year, Saint Mleux's previously private Instagram account skyrocketed from under 1,000 followers to nearly 2.5 million, thanks largely to her incredibly chic appearances at numerous Formula One races and events. That fashionable profile has catapulted Saint Mleux into partnerships with a range of well-known brands – she's worked with Hailey Bieber's Rhode and in May, debuted her resortwear collection with Australian label Meshki during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend. Advertisement From China to Italy and the UK, here are five recent looks that have cemented Saint Mleux's status as F1's style icon. Earlier this year, Saint Mleux stole the spotlight at the Shanghai Grand Prix with looks that paid homage to Chinese heritage. On March 21, she stepped into the paddock wearing a black minidress by Hong Kong-based label Sau Lee that featured a Mandarin collar and red knotted accents in a nod to the traditional cheongsam. She added a modern twist with red ballet flats and dark sunglasses, perfectly matching the outfit's colour palette. For the finishing touch, Saint Mleux blended fashion, motorsport and romance by carrying a custom Ferrari Style Maranello clutch inspired by Leclerc's personal Daytona SP3. She ended the weekend with a soft pink co-ord that featured another cheongsam-style top, and Sau Lee's Vanessa midi dress in black, which she paired with a Saint Laurent Cinq-a-Sept mini bag and patent leather stiletto boots.
