The best dressed stars from the 2025 Met Gala

Vogue Singapore06-05-2025

The 2025 Met Gala has officially come to a close. While tonight's star-studded red carpet in New York City brought forward countless major fashion moments, a select few attendees stood out from the stylish pack.
The best dressed stars of the night paid close attention to this year's theme, 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,' as well as the dress code, Tailored for You. Unsurprisingly, all of the 2025 co-chairs made the cut: A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, as well as honorary co-chair LeBron James. Each of the co-chairs interpreted tailoring in their own original ways, offering a fresh and contemporary approach to suiting. Rocky, for one, wore his own AWGE design that featured a slick double-breasted technical wool jacket; It was inspired by the outdoorsy Marmot jackets that he would see around Harlem growing up. 'Marmots are a Harlem tradition,' Rocky told Vogue during his final fitting. 'That was our teenage jacket.'
A slick array of blazers, slacks, and ties abounded. Whether shorts suits (Doechii in Louis Vuitton!), formal tailcoats or vests worn without jackets—suiting dominated the night in all different forms and iterations.
A few gowns and skirt looks were also worthy of a best-dressed nod—like Anne Hathaway's Carolina Herrera shirt and ball gown, an homage to the great André Leon Talley. Cynthia Erivo dazzled in a shimmering jacket and ball skirt by Givenchy. In a custom Ugo Mozie design, Diana Ross also floated up the Met steps in a cascading gown that featured an 18-foot train—embroidered with the names of her own children and grandchildren, for a personal touch. Overall, it proved to be one of the most stylish, memorable Met Gala carpets in history.

A-ha front man Morten Harket diagnosed with Parkinson's disease

FILE PHOTO: Morten Harket of A-ha perform on stage during the annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Telenor Arena outside Oslo, December 11, 2015. REUTERS/Jon Olav Nesvold/NTB scanpix/File Photo OSLO - Morten Harket, the lead singer of Norwegian band A-ha, whose "Take On Me" track remains one of the most popular songs from the 1980s, said on Wednesday that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. In a statement on the band's website, and confirmed by record label Sony Music, Harket, 65, said he had undergone several rounds of brain surgery and that he was managing the symptoms of the disease. Parkinson's causes deterioration in the brain's nervous system, leading to tremors and other symptoms that can become progressively worse over time. The disease can be treated with surgery and medication, but there is no cure. Harket said he last year underwent neurological procedures to have electrodes implanted inside his brain and that this had reduced the symptoms. Known for the wide range of his voice, Harket said he did not know if he would be able to perform again. "I've got no problem accepting the diagnosis," he said, adding that it was difficult to balance medication and managing side effects of the treatment. "I'm trying the best I can to prevent my entire system from going into decline," Harket said. Formed in 1982 by Harket and his friends Paul Waaktaar-Savoy and Magne Furuholmen, A-ha saw a global breakthrough in 1985 with their debut album "Hunting High and Low" which yielded several hits such as "Take On Me" and "The Sun Always Shines on TV". "Take On Me" was recently featured in the second season of HBO's hit series "The Last of Us" when the main character Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, performed an acoustic version of the song. Vogue's Father's Day gift guide for all types of dads

With Mother's Day done and dusted in May, it's now time to give the men in our lives some much needed attention. After all, fathers are the quiet constants in our lives—protective, dependable, and devoted. They are the superheroes who support our dreams and give us the courage to always believe in ourselves. Their style, much like their presence, often leans into comfort: think crisp shirts, understated neutrals and mostly tailored silhouettes. Whether it's a sleek suit worn for boardroom meetings or a linen shirt with breezy shorts for a relaxing cup of coffee at a neighbourhood cafe, what he wears is often a reflection of his journey—refined and considered. As Father's Day is just around the corner, it is the perfect opportunity to treat the father figures in our lives to some well-deserved spoiling. Sartorial heavyweights of the fashion world have embraced the occasion, rolling out campaigns and collections that exude opulence and class. Burberry looked to how the comfort and warmth of a home is associated with a father's love, in a campaign starring footballer Phil Foden and his children. While Louis Vuitton, celebrated fatherhood with an exclusive capsule of limited edition Tambour watches and Damier jewellery.
