New Xbox Policy Will Make It Easier to Find New Games
Microsoft is finally taking action against spam game bundles that have been clogging up the Xbox Store. The company is cracking down on developers who have been using a shady tactic to flood the store with multiple, slightly different versions of the same game in bundles. The new policy means developers who create bundles of the same game to try to "maximize digital shelf space" violate the Developer Code of Conduct. This is a major change, and it seems to be in response to a ton of complaints from both developers and customers. I go into the store all the time to see what's new, and bundle abuse was pretty clear. I've seen Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion bundled in way too many games, even together. This actually got me to buy the games, though, so the tactic does work. There is also an issue where a lot of games that have easier achievements get released for low prices in bundles. This is seen as a way of getting easy Gamerscore, since the developers decide what achievements a game has. These bundles often include three versions of the same game, with one for Xbox Series X|S, one for both Series X|S and Xbox One, and a third for PC. This is a tactic that's mostly used by developers who release games with super-easy achievements, which some see as selling Gamerscore directly to players. According to an email sent to developers found by True Achievements, Microsoft has determined that these bundles are confusing players and are an attempt to manipulate search results. The company is no longer allowing bundles that contain different platform SKUs of the same game unless there's a "meaningful differentiation" between them. Meaningful differentiation basically means a bundle can't just be the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of the same game without any other changes. A good example of a meaningful difference would be something like a Standard, Deluxe, or Ultimate edition that offers unique content. I don't imagine many people would buy both the standard and deluxe edition of a game at full price, so that most likely won't be featured in bundles. The only issue here is that a difference can also be made in frame rate or resolution, but it has to be "notable." The email also states that having a single product with similar bundles taking up an excessive number of slots is not allowed. While this doesn't completely solve the problem of easy Gamerscore games, it's a huge step in the right direction. It should, at the very least, clear up a lot of the clutter in the store. Microsoft also mentioned in the email that developers who want to release multiple versions of the same game across different platforms should consider using Smart Delivery and Xbox Play Anywhere. This is basically a way to buy a game in one version and get it in every version it comes in for Xbox consoles. This is likely a way to fight achievement stacks, which is when you can get separate achievements for the same game on different platforms. It's about time because I like window shopping, but there is just too much clutter featuring the same games on the Xbox store. Source: True Achievements

This Razer Headset for Xbox Is Basically Free at Amazon While This Deal Lasts
If you're a gamer and you've got an Xbox you either have or desperately need a decent gaming headset. And while high-end models can set you back a couple of hundred, there are plenty of options well below that price point. And even better, with this deal we spotted, you can pick up a $50 for essentially $10. Right now, the Razer BlackShark V2 X Xbox wired gaming headset is discounted at Amazon for $40. When you redeem the on-page coupon RZR30, you will get a $30 digital credit toward future Amazon purchases. That means that in essence, you an get this headset for only $10. This price is for two of the four colorways: pink or white. Black is discounted to $40 currently but the coupon code is not redeemable on that variant. Once you purchase the headset at $40, as long as you've clipped the on-page coupon, your $30 digital credit will be confirmed via email within 24 hours after shipment is completed. For Prime members in many parts of the country, this headset is deliverable in a day or two. The Razer BlackShark V2 X has thick cushioned earcups to cover ears and isolate sound better, giving you a more intense, immersive experience. The cardioid mic is bendable for ideal placement and features improved pickup patterns for clarity. And note that this is not a wireless gaming headset. The wired headset has a 3.5 mm jack which is compatible with Xbox as well as other platforms. At this price, it's well worth considering picking one up as backup for an additional device or future use. Why this deal matters Though you'll have to spend the $40 upfront, the redeemable $30 coupon makes this a deal hard to pass up. Since the headset is already down to $40, with the $30 coupon you're essentially paying only $10. Unless you have no intention of future purchases on Amazon, this deal just makes sense if you're in the market for a new headset. But this is the kind of deal we expect to disappear rather quickly, so don't hold back if you're ready to buy.

HyperX's claims its latest headset lasts 250 hours on a single charge
HyperX has announced its latest flagship wireless gaming headset, and once again , the brand's primary mission statement seems to be chasing eternal life for headphone batteries. The Cloud Alpha 2 will last, according to its maker, for up to 250 hours on a full charge. While that number halves if you make use of the headsets's simultaneous Bluetooth connectivity, a more than 10-day battery life is impressive for any wireless headset. Its new multi-layer 53mm drivers are engineered to reduce distortion as much as possible, while spatial audio is supported via HyperX's Ngenuity software. The Cloud Alpha 2 isn't actually the longest-lasting headset HyperX has made. The honor still belongs to its 2022 predecessor , which could last for up to 300 hours on a single charge. On paper, losing 50 hours of battery life on a newer headset could be viewed as a disappointment, but the Cloud Alpha 2's ace card is its eye-catching RGB base station. With its colorful programmable buttons and pleasingly chunky-looking dial, you can tweak audio settings, launch shortcuts, adjust the volume and switch between connected devices. HyperX says the control station is the first of its kind on a wireless gaming headset. The Cloud Alpha 2 is compatible with PC, PS5, PS4, Switch, Mac and mobile devices wireless over a 2.4Ghz connection, as well as Xbox provided you're happy to go wired. It comes with a detachable 10mm boom mic, but you won't find any active noise-canceling tech built in. HyperX promises all-day comfort from breathable microfiber earpads and the memory foam support around the steel headband The HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 headset costs $300 and is available now.
