Reeves-Maybin, who also serves as the National Football League Players Association president and was a captain for the Lions, was a Pro Bowl selection in 2023. He recorded 14 tackles in 10 games last season -- he missed time due to a neck injury -- and was also a key special-teams contributor. 2024 was the second year of his second stint with the Lions. He spent his first five seasons in Detroit before playing one season (2022) with the Houston Texans.
The release will open up a little under $2 million in salary cap space but leave $2.75 million in dead money for the Lions.
