A Stunning GA Wedding With Charm & A Floral Wedding Dress

Share with your friends! Pinterest LinkedIn Email Flipboard Reddit Just minutes from Downtown Savannah, GA, lies a small, charming chapel steeped in history. Nestled on the grounds of Bethesda Academy — the oldest continuously operating child-caring institution in the country — Whitefield Chapel has hosted its share of celebrity weddings, including those of Paula Deen and Mandy Moore. Pin On April 12, 2025, Nashville couple Macy Thompson and Charlie Gray tied the knot in this historic chapel. The event was full of thoughtful details — from colorful florals to live musical performances by a few of the couple's talented friends — but it was the bride's gown that truly stole the show (more on that later!). Pin 'My [now] husband is from Northern California, and I'm from Savannah, GA,' says Macy of how she picked her venue and location. 'We thought about doing a California wedding, but something called us to the mossy, charming city on the coast of Georgia. It's where my parents live, but I had also always dreamed of getting married in a small chapel with moss hanging down and the arches of the oak trees guiding me to my exit, so the Bethesda Whitefield Chapel was the best choice.' The best choice, indeed. The chapel's interior was quaint and full of charm, and Macy added subtle pops of color with floral accents. She then admits that her original color scheme was quickly forgotten when she found her dress. 'I had that classic wedding moment where everything I had pictured went straight out the window, including the bridesmaids' dress color. I needed to make sure everything tied back to my dress as much as possible without being a bridezilla,' Macy laughs. 'Thankfully, our wedding planning team at Elegant Savannah Weddings helped link us up with Hey Jude Florals.' Pin Pin Pin With bold, non-traditional florals setting the tone, it was only fitting that Macy's wedding dress made an equally unforgettable statement. Straying away from her 'Pinterest dreams,' Macy opted for the 'Esther' dress from Calla Blanche — a bold but perfect choice. 'I originally went shopping for a blush pink dress with feathers (I know it sounds ridiculous), but you know how it is when you find that one Pinterest wedding dress you dreamt about in middle school,' Macy recalls. 'I was ready to try on a ton of different dresses until I saw this beautiful, colorful dress. It reminded me of Scarlett O'Hara with the right amount of poof and color. It had a perfect sweetheart neckline, it was strapless (but with sleeves to add at the reception!), and it had a long train.' Pin For the reception, guests were welcomed to The Marshall House with fresh oysters, hors d'oeuvres, and signature cocktails. One of the most memorable moments of the night happened when two of the couple's talented Nashville friends took the stage. Their surprise performances were a nod to Macy and Charlie's love story and the musical roots they share with many of their closest friends. Pin Pin Pin Pin When it comes to advice for future brides, Macy says to go for the grand exit. 'You won't regret it,' she says. 'There are plenty of times to go out with your friends and hang out, but the whimsical feeling of setting sail into the night with your person is a moment you'll never want to miss.' Pin Pin When asked about the most memorable moment from her wedding day, Macy says nothing beats the quiet moments she spent with her groom. 'There were tiny moments, like right before we were announced at the reception, where it was just me and my husband,' she explains. 'We got to geek out a little together in the midst of everything. It helped slow down the evening a bit and recognize why we and everyone else were there to celebrate.' Is JD Vance about to deport a Canadian-born fashion writer who is an undocumented U.S. immigrant?

An American-based Canadian men's fashion writer who shared his story of being an undocumented immigrant in the U.S. put himself in the crosshairs of conservative critics questioning his legal status to remain in the country, including perhaps U.S. Vice-President JD Vance. In response to the heated L.A. protests over Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions in the city, Derek Guy, who works out of San Francisco, made a candid post on X detailing his experiences. I debated whether to share my story on here, but I guess I will. I think there's an idea out there that millions of violent criminals are pouring across the border, carrying machetes and drugs, looking to harm Americans. Certainly, while some people fall into that category, the… After the 1968 Tet Offensive in Vietnam and following an 'arduous journey,' his father and mother landed in Canada, where they found work as a janitor and secretary, respectively, and where Guy was born. Work eventually dried up, so his father went across the border to work with a sister in the U.S. 'He ended up staying in the US longer than he was supposed to — not knowing immigration laws — and asked my mom to come be with him. Of course, she went and carried me over the border while I was still a baby,' Guy wrote, noting he remains unclear about whether laws were broken when the trio crossed a border he considers to be still mostly 'porous.' 'But either way, since I came here without legal documentation, I eventually fell into the category of being an undocumented immigrant. Yet, I've been in the United States since I was a baby. My identity and roots are very much based in this country, no different from anyone else.' Many people commenting on his post felt differently, with several calling for his deportation. Eventually, X user @growing_daniel suggested Vance had 'the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever,' to which the VP reacted with a gif of actor Jack Nicholson nodding in a scene from The Departed. 'I think I can outrun you in these clothes,' Guy wrote, resharing Vance's post, accompanied by two photos of the vice-president. Guy, a freelancer who contributes to the likes of the New York Times and Esquire, has previously critiqued Vance's wardrobe choices on his X account, which has 1.3 million followers. Shortly after the former Ohio senator joined Trump's team last July, Guy opined that 'Vance's jackets don't hug him very well.' In summarizing a thread on tie choices during the vice-presidential debate with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz last fall, he wrote that Vance's 'was a distraction' and likened it to 'something you'd wear to summer garden parties.' At tonight's debate though, Vance's tie was a distraction, while Walz's tie helped viewers focus on his message. At something as serious as a national debate, Vance would have been better served by a conservative business tie, not something you'd wear to summer garden parties. In March, he responded to a user wondering why Vance's pants were so short, saying a bespoke tailor he spoke to suggested the pants 'are too slim, hence why they ride up on him like this.' i spoke to a bespoke tailor about this and he confirm: jd vance's pants are too slim, hence why they ride up on him like this In the remainder of his post about L.A., Guy said the best solution is 'systemic' and emphasized a necessity for citizenship paths for non-violent people such as himself and others, who 'are good, honest people.' 'Ultimately, I hope me sharing this story helps push back against the idea that all undocumented immigrants are MS-13 members. I know many people in my position and they are all like your neighbors.'
