An American couple who sold everything they owned back home have made South Africa their new home.
The couple, along with their two children, have been living in Cape Town for almost two years.
While they were confident about their decision to settle in the Mother City, a recent visit to Durban has left them torn between the two coastal cities.
After spending time in Durban, enjoying the great weather, meeting new people, and falling in love with the cuisine, they are now seriously considering making it their new home.
Husband Kenzo took to his TikTok account to ask South Africans whether they should make the move.
'Did I make a mistake moving to Cape Town over Durban?' he asks his followers.
As he describes what he enjoys about Durban, his wife, Kourtney, is heard chiming in the background, insisting that almost everything is better there.
She goes on to ask what the real difference between the two cities is, adding that they would have no problem packing up their home, kids, and dogs to make another move. 'We've done it before,' she says.

Even though Cape Town has been ranked one of the most beautiful cities in the world, it seems not everyone is keen to live there.
'Cape is the best city by beauty but if you wanna see great people and have some of the best times in your lives come to Durban you won't regret it truth be told,' said one viewer.
Another follower, who feels strongly about living in Durban, said: 'Durban is warm all year round. Biggest Indian population outside of India. Mostly English and Zulu speaking. Schools are amazing, affordable and the sports culture is huge for both children and adults. Something to think about for sure.'
Others prefer Durban over Cape Town simply because it's cheaper to live there.
One viewer put it plainly: 'Durban is cheaper than Cape Town. That is the major difference,' while another commented: 'Capetown is very expensive we only go there for vacation.'
Even some who live in Cape Town suggested that the couple move to Durban.
'Absolutely! I've been living in Cape Town for about 9 years, culturally it takes a while, people are cliquey, it's safer but you not going to have the same warmness and welcome like Durban. Oh and you get the racists,' said one TikToker.
Another added: 'I am a Capetonian living in Durban. I love Cape Town, but I found my success in Durban. I also feel it's a better place to raise children. Cape Town is a holiday destination.'

Letta Mbulu shares her story: life in exile and the enduring desire for home

Iconic singer, Letta Mbulu, has opened about about her life in exile and how she made sure that her children remained South African while living in the States. Image: System For the legendary singer, Letta Mbulu, home has always been where her heart is. In a recent interview with Umhlobo Wenene radio presenter, Dumza Maswana, she opened up about her life in exile with her husband, living legend Caiphus Semenya, and their children, Moses and Muntuyetwa, in the United States for almost 30 years. The 82-year-old 'Not Yet Uhuru' hitmaker revealed that not a single day went by without them thinking about South Africa. 'The sun wouldn't set without us thinking about home. Everything we did, with the students that were there and would come to our homes, we cooked food from home and spoke about things happening back home … That one day, we will also be free. And that was the topic,' she said. Mbulu went into exile in the United States in 1964, leaving South Africa to escape the oppressive apartheid regime. She remained in exile for 26 years, returning to South Africa in 1991 after the fall of apartheid. Video Player is loading. I'm grateful ❤️ — Dumza Maswana (@dumzamaswana) August 19, 2025 'We were very diligent when it came to such topics. We didn't like conversations that didn't relate to our politics. We would sit down and discuss true politics,' she added. Mbulu said that she even told her husband that the day they would be told to go, she would be the first to leave. 'I wanted to go home. I told him that after living three years in America. I said, You know what, I just want to be here for three years. I want to get out, and unfortunately, I was banned after my arrival. But our home was very important to us,' said Mbulu. Being in exile with her children, schooling in the States, the iconic singer also opened up about the steps she took to ensure that her kids didn't assimilate into American culture. 'When we noticed that they were starting to get Americanised and speaking a lot of English, their dad called them and said: 'Listen here, this house and yard is the Republic of South Africa. If I ever hear any of you speak English when you enter the gate, just know that I'll kill you. "So that's how they learnt. We taught them isiXhosa and SeSotho so they speak all languages, and today they're all grown up,' she said.
