Nothing Phone 3 coming in July: Here's what we know so far about the flagship phone
Last week, Nothing, on its official X handle, confirmed that the Phone 3 will be coming sometime in July. The company's first-ever premium phone, said to offer a flagship experience, will most likely be powered by Qualcomm's newest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
And while nothing is certain at the moment, several leaks and rumours in the last few days have hinted that the Nothing Phone 3 will look different from the company's existing smartphone lineup. From design to price, here's everything we know so far about the Nothing Phone 3.
On Thursday, May 29, Nothing shared a post on X saying that it has 'killed the Glyph interface.' This might mean that the Nothing Phone 3 may not feature the company's iconic Glyph interface and introduce a new design language that looks different from its existing offerings. Following the post, the company also shared a close-up shot of the Nothing Phone 3, and while it doesn't show much, the Phone 3 looks like it will fit right in with Nothing's quirky design approach.
It's all in the details. Phone (3).

On the hardware front, the Nothing Phone 3 is expected to sport the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Qualcomm's fastest chipset to date. According to Smartprix, the smartphone was recently spotted on the GSM database and has been reportedly certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) bearing the model number 'A024'.
Several leaks and rumours have also hinted that the Nothing Phone 3 will sport a 120Hz 6.77-inch AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Speculations also suggest that the phone will offer up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. All of this may be backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 50W wired and 20W wireless charging. However, since nothing is certain at the moment, the company might opt to go with Silicon Carbon battery technology.
The back of the Nothing Phone 3 is said to feature a triple camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary lens, but there are no details about its ultrawide and telephoto sensors. As for the software, the upcoming smartphone will most likely run on Nothing OS based on Android 16 out of the box, but rumour has it that the Nothing Phone 3 will come with Android 15.
Carl Pei has also said that the Nothing Phone (3) will be made from 'premium materials' and have 'software that really levels things up.' As for the price, Pei has confirmed that their upcoming flagship will be priced somewhere around 800 pounds, which means the phone will cost somewhere around Rs 90,000, but it won't be surprising to see the top variant crossing the Rs 1 lakh price tag.

Goodbye to change: QR code ticket payment on tech zone route buses
1 2 3 Kolkata: The perennial problem over loose change may soon be a thing of the past with several bus owners providing UPI payment options to their passengers. The latest to introduce this system are four buses plying between Barasat and Santragachhi and the Botanic Garden, both of which cater to passengers of Sector V and New Town. They have introduced a digital payment system on buses to address the issue of change, said owners. QR codes are provided inside the buses, allowing passengers to easily pay fares via UPI interface or Google Pay. According to the bus owners, all vehicles on this route will implement the digital payment system in the future if the trials are successful. A total of 38 private buses operate on the Barasat to Howrah Shibpur B Garden route. Bus owners report that conductors face issues due to the lack of change daily. "To obtain change, they have to pay a commission, which costs Rs 150 for Rs 1,500 worth of change, leading to significant expenses. As a result, owners are turning to digital payments as an alternative," said a conductor. One of the owners, Gopal Nandi, operates two buses on the B Garden-Barasat route. A few months ago, he pasted QR code stickers on the buses for digital payments. Another owner, Biltu Das, followed the same path, reducing the hassle for bus staff. Single buses on several other routes — like DN 16/1 (Dhamakhali to Barasat), Mourigram-Salt Lake minibus and 56 (Ruiya Purbapara-Howrah) — had introduced UPI payment in 2023 but the facility was eventually discontinued. "We found that most passengers on our route travel to Sector V, New Town and Rajarhat offices. Most of them prefer not to carry cash, let alone coins. As such, we often get into arguments over payment of fares. Now that we have introduced UPI payment, the conductor just needs to check his phone for confirmation of payment. This also saves time in issuing tickets. However, since not everyone uses cashless mode of payment, the old system will continue," explained a staffer on the Barasat route. The move was welcomed by multiple passengers who even posted the payment method on Kolkata Bus-o-pedia, an FB forum of bus lovers. "I was heading towards Karunamoyee from Exide. I had to pay a fare of Rs 18. But I had a Rs 100 note in my pocket. The conductor asked me for change but I did not have any. Then he simply said that I can pay through UPI. I was amazed to use it," recalled the passenger on FB. "Nice initiative. More buses need to implement this UPI payment system," said Supriyo Nandi. "It was introduced a few years back at Bangalore bus services… In fact, a few days back I paid a Toto through UPI. So why not use it in buses," said another passenger Sandipan Ghosh. Aniket Banerjee, general secretary of Kolkata Bus-o-pedia, said that the system needs to be regimented. "The QR code needs to be framed so that it cannot be misused," he said.

ECR unveils AI-based system to boost train safety
Patna: General manager of East Central Railway (ECR), Chhatrasal Singh, on Friday inaugurated an advanced AI-based system at Ara coaching depot under Danapur division to modernise railway maintenance. Danapur DRM Jayant Kumar Choudhary said the system automates coach cleaning and water refilling, while smart sensors detect alarm chain pulling (ACP) and other anomalies. "AI integration will boost monitoring, safety and passenger comfort," he added. "The AI-based system, a first in Indian Railways, marks a major step toward cleaner, safer, and more efficient services," said Singh. Danapur ADRM Aadhar Raj, credited with developing the system, said a live demo was successfully tested on the Ara-Durg South Bihar Express. "The device alerts staff or control rooms to issues like fire, brake binding, hot axle, water shortage, foul odour, ACP, and coach breakdowns via ultrasonic sensors," he said. Initially, all rakes of eight long-distance trains from Ara will be equipped, followed by wider implementation across ECR. Each device costs Rs 1 lakh, and fitting an entire 24-coach rake costs Rs 24 lakh. The system was developed by a Danapur team over the past year. Singh announced a Rs 1 lakh cash reward for the team.
