Warborne Above Ashes playtest start time – when you can play the MMO and earn exclusive rewards

Daily Mirror23-04-2025
More MMO action is on its way as Warborne Above Ashes prepares to launch into yet another playtest that you can be a part of.
Warborne Above Ashes is bringing a packed sci-fi world to the MMO genre with another playtest, and though the Warborne Above Ashes playtest start times are stunted across launch day, we still won't have long to wait before we can get stuck in.
MMO games have a habit of folding back to the Fantasy genre, and while we won't pretend not to love it, we could do with something a little fresher. We love the likes of Final Fantasy 14 and The Elder Scrolls Online (though our Tamriel adventures will be elsewhere now that Oblivion Remastered has been revealed), but there's no denying that getting lost in so many fantasy worlds at once leads to a little bit of mental crossover, making many worlds simply dissolve into each other.

Enter, Warborne Above Ashes, a new MMO set to chart new courses across Sci-Fi worlds and drop you into some brutal battles that put you on a full map stuffed with battlefields and total warfare. After a successful playtest in March, the game is prepared to enter yet another period of chaos with six unique factions, a stacked arsenal full of different playstyles to capitalise on and allow players to experience, customise and get used to.
All of this is to say that a new playtest is on its way to give players a new chance to try out the action that lies in wait in the sci-fi MMO, and the Warborne Above Ashes playtest start time is thankfully not far away. So, what can we expect from the incoming playtest? Here's what you need to know about the Warborne Above Ashes playtest start time.

Warborne Above Ashes playtest start time

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers baffling 'censorship' update stops you killing bosses

A strange update has been released for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers which stops players from killing historical figures, sparking a wave of negative reviews on Steam. Between Black Myth: Wukong and the upcoming Phantom Blade Zero, there's an ungoing wave of Chinese-developed Soulslike games at the moment, all mimicking FromSoftware's single-player formula. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, developed by Leenzee, is the most recent example. Set during China's Ming dynasty, the action role-player blends its historical setting with supernatural elements, as protagonist Bai Wuchang contends with a mysterious disease turning people into monsters. In a bizarre turn of events, the historical aspects of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers have become a controversial sticking point, after an update made alterations to the story and stopped certain historical characters from being killed. In the game's version 1.5 update, the developers delivered a comprehensive list of bug updates and alterations. While it all seemed relatively innocuous on the surface, one line raised some alarm bells. 'Added dialogs for some NPCs to complete some plots,' read the patch notes. 'We will further optimise the exhaustion animations in the future to improve the plot performance.' While 'plot performance' sounds like an awkward translation hiccup, players who downloaded the update discovered that this line actually refers to a dramatic change whereby you no longer 'kill' certain bosses and other enemies who are based on historical figures. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. LOL WUCHANG patch notes say they "optimized the exhaustion animation for certain NPCs" and what they mean is they made it so you can no longer kill any historically significant bosses or NPCs, and instead they just get "exhausted" and relax after the fight and talk to you LMAO — Lance McDonald (@manfightdragon) August 13, 2025 One of the most difficult and epic boss fights now ends with the boss no longer dying but instead saying 'it was all just a trial! And actually the path you are on is good! Hahaha!' Holy wow — Lance McDonald (@manfightdragon) August 13, 2025 As highlighted by Lance McDonald on X, certain bosses no longer die after you've defeated them but now collapse in exhaustion. These bosses, like Ming General Liu Cheng'en, have altered dialogue too. 'I won't stop you going forward but the people ahead will attack you like a monster,' the boss now says in his 'exhausted' state. The fight with Zhao Yun has similarly been altered, with players reporting that you no longer fight the actual person but his spirit instead. Before the update, when defeated, Yun dies and says: 'The mortal dream fades, my tale concludes, I understand now, all is as it should be.' However, now his dialogue has been altered to something more trivial: 'Ha, still set on this path? Good! That was the trial's purpose all along! Hahaha!' These changes have impacted other enemies. It's claimed the game's fourth chapter has now become 'insanely easy because 50% of the enemies are now non-hostile to the player and you can't attack them during the rebellion outbreak'. As for the reason behind these changes, McDonald claims this 'censored' update is due to 'pressure from Chinese players who were upset about being able to kill historically significant characters from the end of the Ming Dynasty'. The Ming General no longer dies and now just sits near the shrine and says "I wont stop you going forward but the people ahead will attack you like a monster" — Lance McDonald (@manfightdragon) August 14, 2025 Other players have left a wave of negative reviews on Steam following the update, noting how the alterations go against the plot of the game, as the crux of the story is based around coming to terms with death. More Trending 'Dev single-handed butchered the whole theme of the story by changing plotlines and catering to the idiotic nationalist, who would never touch the game,' one Steam review reads. 'Would not recommend until dev fix this or give global players a way to revert this themselves.' It seems Reddit posts from players complaining about the changes have been deleted from the game's official subreddit too, with one user sharing a screenshot of their deleted post on the 'Soulslike' subreddit. While it's unclear if these changes have been motivated by certain Chinese players or government pressure, the update is clearly something the developers are trying to gloss over. If furore continues though they may be forced to address it. Email gamecentral@ leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter. Inzoi Island Getaway release time, content and how to unlock new summery cosmetics in Twitch Drops

Inzoi is getting a new expansion, and the Inzoi Island Getaway release date is right around the corner. Here's everything you need to know about the new DLC and the Twitch Drops Inzoi is gearing up to launch its new Island Getaway expansion, offering players the chance to unwind on a tropical island while mining, crafting and swimming. ‌ Despite mixed reviews suggesting that Inzoi may not be the next contestant to The Sims ' throne, the game is certainly striving to make its mark. Its early access release showcased a more photo-realistic, second-life-style approach to the life simulator genre, aiming for photogenic and Instagram-worthy moments – and now it's whisking you off on holiday. ‌ The Island Getaway DLC is due to arrive soon, promising sun-soaked adventures and additional crafting elements to differentiate itself. Whether this will actually succeed remains to be seen, but the latest Inzoi@Cahaya stream provided an extensive sneak peek at what the new expansion has in store. ‌ But there's more to the expansion than just sunbathing opportunities. In response to criticism about a lack of content in the game's early access stages, Krafton has added new vehicles and quality-of-life changes to help players better understand their Zoi's emotions and determine their next steps towards happiness. So, when exactly is the Inzoi Island Getaway release date? And what can we expect? Here's everything you need to know. Inzoi Island Getaway release time The Inzoi Island Getaway release time is scheduled for 11pm PDT on Tuesday, August 19, and 2am EDT / 7am BST on Wednesday, August 20. This information comes directly from Krafton, with the timing based on the release of a new update, presumably to deploy all necessary files to support the new DLC, launching simultaneously according to new Twitch Drops information shared on the Inzoi website. Inzoi Island Getaway Twitch Drops While waiting for the Inzoi Island Getaway release, Krafton has unveiled some new Twitch Drops for the game in anticipation of the expansion's arrival. If you've linked your Twitch account to your Krafton ID, you can watch influencer pre-release streams for 15 minutes to unlock the Cahaya Summer Straw Hat, and for 30 minutes to unlock the Cahaya Summer Shirt. The Inzoi Island Getaway Twitch Drops began at 6.30pm PDT / 9.30pm EDT on Thursday, August 14 and 2.30am BST on Friday, August 15, and will continue until 4.30pm PDT / 7.30pm EDT on Tuesday, August 19, and 12.30am BST on Wednesday, August 20. The items will be available in-game in the Create A Zoi menu marked with an 'N' icon. What's new in the Inzoi Island Getaway expansion? The latest Inzoi Island Getaway expansion transports you to the exotic island of Cahaya, offering a plethora of new activities such as mining, fishing, farming, and selling your produce. It's a shift towards a more Stardew Valley -esque gameplay, promising a unique gaming experience. You'll be transported to this new island location via an airport bus available in every town, where you can explore, purchase property, indulge in a massage, or simply bask in the sun. However, beware of storms and natural disasters that could disrupt your tranquil getaway. The update also introduces several quality-of-life improvements, including new inner emotions icons, a revamped GUI for better understanding your Zoi's emotions, and the addition of elevators to your builds. Enhanced light rendering, the introduction of scooters and motorcycles, and more await players in the broader game. It's a robust update, but whether it will lure players away from The Sims 4 and other life simulator games remains to be seen. In essence, the Inzoi Island Getaway expansion, as a free content drop, has the potential to revolutionise the entire gaming experience. We look forward to seeing you on Cahaya, hunting for gems in the soil.

Battlefield 6 second beta has more bugs than the first one say fans

EA has acknowledged there are certain problems with Battlefield 6's second beta, with some claiming it's buggier than the first one. While it's still too early to gauge Battlefield 6's success, especially since the game's not due until October and is competing against Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7, first impressions have been overall positive. The first open beta, in particular, was a huge hit, attracting more players than Call Of Duty. While the initial beta wrapped up this past weekend, a second one has already begun and includes a new map and gameplay modes to warrant a revisit. Unfortunately, this second beta risks losing some of the goodwill the first one created, since there are reports of players encountering multiple issues, both on PC and consoles. EA has acknowledged the beta is suffering from matchmaking problems at the moment, and is promising to have these resolved ASAP, according to the official Battlefield Reddit account. 'The team is aware of ongoing matchmaking issues for some of our players when attempting to matchmake on playlists. We're actively investigating this and working towards a solve as soon as possible,' it reads. In a follow-up comment, EA has advised you 'ensure that you have the most recent client update' or try using the repair functionality if you're trying to access the beta through the EA app. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. There are also reports of DLSS and DLAA not working either, but EA believes it's figured out what's causing this and should have it resolved later today. If you missed the first beta and fancy playing the second one, doing so is very simple. It's freely available to download via Steam, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox store with no code or special access required. Just go to the online stores and search for Battlefield 6, and you'll find it available to download, as if it was an ordinary free-to-play game. The easier access is obvious a benefit, but it sounds like the beta has more issues besides matchmaking not working properly. A quick look through the Battlefield 6 subreddit brings up multiple threads from players suffering from crashes or struggling to get the beta working in the first place. It's already claimed that it's buggier than the first beta, with a handful of players reporting instances of losing health when switching classes and instantly dying with nothing to indicate they were even hit. More Trending If the current player numbers on Steam are anything to go by, though, these issues may not be too widespread. At the time of writing, there are roughly 367,000 people playing the beta according to SteamDB. Those numbers aren't as high as the 500,000+ it enjoyed last weekend, but it's not too significant of a drop and can be justified by it being a Thursday afternoon (or morning from a US perspective). So, things will likely jump up once the weekend hits. Hopefully, there won't be as many cheaters plaguing the beta this week either. It wasn't a good look for EA considering it's implementing brand new anti-cheat software. That said, those instances have ideally helped improve the software, with EA claiming it has successfully prevented at least 330,000 cheating attempts.
