Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has been banned from driving for six months after she was caught speeding in her Audi S3, according to British news outlets.
The 35-year-old star, who played Hermione Granger in the film franchise, drove 38 mph in a 30 mph zone in Oxford, England, on July 31 last year, BBC reported. The offense was caught on a speed camera on a restricted road in the city.
Watson was charged via mail and pleaded guilty to the offense on March 3. On Wednesday, the actress was sentenced for the violation at a lower court in Wycombe. She did not attend the 5-minute hearing.
In addition to the six-month driving ban, the actress was also fined £1,044 (roughly $1,400 U.S.), which she has to pay within 28 days.
This is Watson's fourth driving offense in less than two years, according to the Daily Mail. She received three points on her license for this July 2024 speeding offense, in addition to nine points from driving offenses in January 2024 and October and November of 2023.
At the time of the speeding incident, Watson was driving her Audi S3, which was towed away by police last year after it was illegally parked while she met with her mom for lunch at a pub across the street, the Mirror reported.
The actress has been studying for a doctorate at Oxford University.
Watson rose to fame in the eight Harry Potter films that premiered from 2001 until 2011. J.K. Rowling's beloved books are now being turned into an HBO television series, set to debut in 2027. The role of Hermione Granger will be played by 11-year-old Arabella Stanton.
Coincidentally, in a separate hearing at the same court on July 16, another Harry Potter star was also handed the same sentence for speeding.
Zoë Wanamaker, who played Madam Hooch in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was also banned from driving for six months and fined £1,044 for driving 46 mph in a 40 mph zone in August 2024 in Berkshire, England, according to the Mirror.
Like Watson, the 76-year-old also had nine points on her license before the speeding offense. Wanamaker did not attend the sentencing.

Paul Merton addresses rumour he got Bruce Forsyth job hosting Strictly

Paul Merton has addressed the rumour that he was the reason Sir Bruce Forsyth was hired to host Strictly Come Dancing, stating: 'It wasn't quite like that.' It's long been claimed that the comedian was one of the reasons the BBC decided Forsyth should lead the Saturday night dance competition when it launched in 2004. His hiring came shortly after Merton recruited Forsyth to be a guest presenter on satirical panel show Have I Got News for You, which is believed to have put him on the BBC's radar to co-host Strictly alongside Tess Daly. Merton was asked in a new interview if he was responsible for getting Forsyth the job, to which he told Saga Magazine: 'I asked if we could have Bruce as a guest presenter on Have I Got News for You in 2003 and he was brilliant, a consummate professional, as you'd expect.' Merton continued: 'That seemed to reignite his career and the following year he landed Strictly.' He added that, while he has 'no idea if I had anything to do with' Forsyth's hiring, he 'would be extremely honoured' if he did 'because he was a lovely man'. At the time of Forsyth's appearance on Have I Got News for You, the entertainer's career, which was launched in the 1950s, was starting to wane. Paul Merton brushed off claims he got Bruce Forsyth the 'Strictly' job (BBC) He spent the previous decades hosting game shows including The Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right and The Price Is Right. It was Strictly that put him back on primetime television. Forsyth returned to Have I Got News for You as guest host in 2010 and, in 2013, he became the oldest person to perform at Glastonbury Festival, aged 85. The presenter, who stepped down as host of Strictly's live shows in 2014, made his final TV appearance on a Children in Need-themed Strictly special n November 2015. His health soon deteriorated and he died of bronchial pneumonia aged 89 on 18 August 2017. Claudia Winkleman, who replaced Forsyth as Daly's co-host, added: 'We all miss him dreadfully.' Ahead of his death, Forsyth admitted that Strictly had limited his talents. He told Hello: 'On the Generation Game, for example, I could have fun – I was allowed to be 'Loose Bruce'. I could do whatever I liked and interact with whomever. 'That's the real me. A presenter on Strictly isn't the real Bruce.'

Among the attendees were the "360" singer's parents and Daniel's bandmates Adam Hahn and Ross MacDonald, per PEOPLE. 1975 frontman Matty Healy was not in attendance. Charli, whose real name is Charlotte Aitchison, went public about her relationship with Daniel in 2022. She then announced her engagement to the musician in 2023. Charli and Daniel have a long history of musical partnership. They first collaborated on No Rome's 2021 single "Spinning," which featured both Charli and the 1975. Daniel later produced "Crash," "Selfish Girl," and "How Can I Not Know What I Need Right Now" from Charli's 2022 album, Crash, and worked with her on the soundtrack to the 2023 comedy Bottoms. The 1975 multi-instrumentalist also had a prominent presence on Charli's acclaimed 2024 album, Brat, producing the tracks "Club Classics" and "Apple," the former of which name-drops him in the line "I wanna dance with George" and features the back of his head on the art for its single release. Daniel also gets a shout-out on the song "Sympathy Is a Knife" with the line "George says I'm just paranoid." Charli revealed that the song "Talk Talk" is about a flirtatious moment between her and Daniel at the 2020 NME Awards. "We were both sort of sat on different tables, and we were texting each other, but we weren't hanging out," she explained in a TikTok. "But we were both looking over at each other. It was very, like, one of us would look, the other one would look away, and then vice versa." "I saw that he went to the bathroom, so I was like, 'Oh, I'll go to the bathroom, and maybe we'll bump into each other and we won't be texting all the time,'" the musician recalled. "But then I got halfway there and was like, 'This is insane.'" The Brat track "I Think About It All the Time" chronicles the singer's complicated feelings about the possibility of having a child with Daniel. "It's kind of talking about feeling kinda existential about that and wondering, 'If I don't have a child, will I miss out on this facet of life, or actually is that just a societal pressure?'" she explained in another also contributed backing vocals to the Japanese House's reinterpretation of "Apple," which he also produced, from Charli's Brat remix album, Brat and It's Completely Different but Also Still Brat. "When i hear his voice i cryyyyyy i love him so muchhhhhhhhh," Charli tweeted about the track. Daniel also worked on the remix of "I Might Say Something Stupid," from the same album, with the rest of the 1975. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly
