WisDOT: Closures announced for two Menasha bridges, maintenance work
MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has announced the temporary closure of two bridges in Menasha for scheduled maintenance work.
WisDOT officials say the closures will impact the Tayco Street Bridge and the Racine Street Bridge on Thursday, May 15, and Friday, May 16, respectively.
City of Green Bay no longer participating in 'No Mow May'
Tayco Street Bridge
Closed to all traffic on Thursday, May 15, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Routine washing and maintenance
Designated truck routes will serve as posted detours
Racine Street Bridge
Closed to all traffic on Friday, May 16, from 12:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
Additional maintenance work

Wisconsin DNR: Limit time outside due to Canadian wildfire smoke
MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Wisconsinites are once again being asked to limit their time outdoors on Tuesday into Wednesday due to ongoing air quality advisories resulting from the Canadian wildfire smoke. According to a release from the Wisconsin DNR, the smoke will be moving across the state throughout the day from the northwest to the southeast. Local nonprofit announces 2025 event to benefit lead singer of The Glam Band The DNR has also announced an advisory for particulate matter < 2.5 microns (RED). Health impacts are reaching the unhealthy level and could have short-term spikes in the very unhealthy level. Those with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children are advised to make their outdoor activities shorter and less intense. DNR officials say to consider moving outdoor activities inside if applicable. Other ways to stay protected from wildfire smoke are as follows: Check your local air quality index Current conditions can be found here. Stay indoors Close doors and windows Avoid activities that increase indoor pollution: vacuuming, frying food, burning candles, or using gas-powered appliances. Install a high-efficiency air filter. Use an N95 mask if outdoors for long periods. This is the second time this year that an air quality advisory has been issued in the Badger State as a result of the Canadian wildfire smoke. This specific advisory is predicted to last from noon on Tuesday through noon on Wednesday. BREAKING: Massive fire at Neenah Foundry, crews actively responding to scene
NEENAH, Wis. (WFRV) – The fire at the Neenah Foundry is still an active situation, with crews on the scene for response efforts. Initial photos show heavy amounts of black smoke and flames from the building. The Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue told Local 5 that the initial calls and dispatch were around 8:38 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, and that a Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) was requested; however, officials could not provide more details.
