Emirates adds Turkish dramas to IFE platform in deal with Inter Medya
Emirates passengers can enjoy a curated collection of Turkish content via the airline's inflight entertainment system.
Turkish content distributor Inter Medya has struck a deal with Emirates to supply a slate of popular Turkish dramas to the airline's in-flight entertainment (IFE) platform, reflecting Emirates' ongoing commitment to offering diverse storytelling to its global passengers.
The partnership brings a curated selection of Turkish series to Emirates' ICE entertainment system, including Chasing the Wind, Interrupted, The Ivy, Dreams and Realities and Life Is Today. The titles represent a blend of romance, mystery and drama, tailored to appeal to a wide international audience.

The Ivy explores the dark secrets of a tranquil housing complex shaken by a murder, while Dreams and Realities follows four women from modest backgrounds in Istanbul as they pursue their ambitions and investigate the suspicious death of a close friend. Life Is Today presents the emotional journey of a young chief doctor reviving a struggling hospital, highlighting stories of resilience, love and healing.
The addition of these Turkish series enhances Emirates' already expansive entertainment catalogue and underscores the global reach and growing popularity of Turkish dramas. YouTube and Spotify accused of 'censorship' after blocking left-wing folk group in Turkey
YouTube and Spotify have been accused of "censorship" after the Turkish government blocked videos and songs by the left-wing folk band Grup Yorum. According to Turkish freedom of expression organisation IFOD, Turkish authorities blocked access to more than 450 videos by Grup Yorum on YouTube last week in the name of "protecting national security and public order". They said the 454 clips, shared since 2006 by dozens of YouTube accounts, had totalled more than 205 million views. IFOD said in a statement on Friday that at least one of the group's albums had also been blocked on Spotify and Apple Music. A similar request was put to streaming site Deezer, but they refused to comply. Legislation passed in 2022 handed the government's Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) powers to compel social media companies to comply with requests to take down content and hand over user data or to be subject to reduction of their bandwidth. Emirates, Air China ink MoU to explore enhanced partnership
Emirates and Air China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a strategic framework for expanding their existing reciprocal interline cooperation. The signing took place on the sidelines of the 81st Annual General Meeting (IATA AGM) and World Air Transport Summit (WATS) in New Delhi. The MoU was signed by Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer and Yan Fei, Air China's Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, accompanied by senior executives from both sides. Adnan Kazim said, 'Our partnership with Air China commenced 26 years ago, and approximately 18,000 Emirates customers have benefited from the expanded connectivity offered through our interline agreement. Building on this success, we've recently announced the launch of two new Chinese cities—Shenzhen and Hangzhou—which will strengthen our East Asia operations." Yan Fei said, 'Air China highly values the cooperation with Emirates. The signing of this memorandum is an important milestone for the deepening of the cooperation between the two sides." Under the MoU, Emirates and Air China will explore a reciprocal codeshare on select routes across each other's networks. This would allow each airline to place its code on the other's flights on China-UAE trunk routes as well as beyond Beijing and Dubai to an expanded list of points. * Emirates and Air China will also develop a framework for cooperation across cargo operations and respective frequent flyer loyalty programme, enhancing their value proposition for both travellers and businesses. To further ensure seamless connectivity for customers, the two carriers will explore coordinating flight schedules or adjusting minimum connecting times. Once activated, customers of both airlines will benefit from a seamless booking process, single ticket itineraries and wider lounge access to new and exciting destinations. Beyond commercial cooperation, both carriers plan to exchange best practices in areas such as revenue management, data analytics, digitalisation, brand management and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), among others, through joint knowledge sharing and familiarisation visits.
