Israeli Troops Kill Youth in Bed During Pre-Dawn Raid into Qalqilya

DayofPal– 20-year-old Jassem Al-Sada was shot while sleeping during a raid on his village in Qalqilya. Locals say Israeli forces left him bleeding to death during their pre-dawn raid.
Grief and outrage swept through the village of Jit, east of Qalqilya, as hundreds of mourners filled the streets late yesterday to bid farewell to Jassem Al-Sadda.
According to family members, Israeli soldiers stormed the Al-Sadda home while Jassem was asleep in bed. He was shot multiple times and left bleeding on the floor, witnesses said, without receiving medical care from the soldiers.
His body was later handed over to Palestinian medics at the village entrance and transported to Darwish Nazzal Hospital in Qalqilya, where he was pronounced dead.
Jassem, the youngest member of his family, worked on a street cart to support them. His killing has sparked widespread anger and deepened fears across the occupied West Bank.
His funeral began at the hospital and proceeded through the streets of Jit, where villagers chanted against Israeli actions. Final prayers were held at the village's old mosque before his burial in the local cemetery.
The Israeli military raid on Jit included searches of multiple homes, including the al-Sadda residence. Locals described the operation as violent and unprovoked.
Elsewhere in the West Bank, Israeli forces continued arrest operations. In Bethlehem, two men, 40-year-old Shadi Ali Hassasneh and Ibrahim Walid Sabah from Tuqu', were detained.
In Al-Mazra'a Al-Gharbiya, northwest of Ramallah, three more were arrested, including two 15-year-old boys: Abdulrahman Hanoon and Mohammad Dadawyeh. Residents reported that homes were ransacked during the arrests.
Violence also erupted from Israeli settlers, who carried out attacks in several villages. In Ramon, east of Ramallah, settlers reportedly torched multiple vehicles and spray-painted racist slogans on Palestinian homes.
In Qaryut, south of Nablus, settlers burned seven cars and vandalized crops in the nearby village of Al-Mughayyer.
In another incident, undercover Israeli forces reportedly assaulted a Palestinian man, Mohammad Al-Khatib, outside his home in the Shu'fat refugee camp in occupied East Jerusalem. Witnesses said the man was beaten in front of his family.
The recent wave of military raids, arrests, and settler violence has intensified fears among Palestinians. For many, the killing of Jassem Al-Sadda has become a stark and painful symbol of the dangers facing young Palestinians under military occupation.

U.S. Judge Controversially Rules Desecrating Israeli Flag Is Racial Hate, Not Free Speech

DayofPal– A U.S. federal judge has controversially determined that desecrating the Israeli flag is an act of racial discrimination rather than political expression, a decision that civil liberties advocates say undermines decades of First Amendment protections. The ruling stems from a protest in Washington, D.C. last fall, where activist Kimmara Sumrall wore an Israeli flag draped over her shoulders. A demonstrator opposing Israeli policies pulled the flag off her, leading to an arrest. Though the demonstrator was later acquitted, Sumrall filed a civil lawsuit, claiming the act constituted racial bias. Judge Trevor N. McFadden agreed. 'Purposefully yanking on an Israeli flag tied around a Jewish person's neck is direct evidence of racial discrimination,' McFadden wrote, describing the Star of David on the flag as a symbol of 'the Jewish race.' He compared the act to using a racial slur against Black Americans. Critics say the ruling sets a dangerous precedent by equating criticism of a nation-state with racial animus and carving out legal protections for one national flag, protections not even extended to the American flag, which the Supreme Court has ruled can be legally burned in protest. Civil rights groups warn the decision could chill political dissent and blur the line between hate speech and protest. The ruling is expected to face appeals, with legal observers predicting it could eventually reach the U.S. Supreme Court. For now, it marks the first time in American history that desecrating a foreign nation's flag can be prosecuted as hate conduct. Such pro-Israel rulings highlight what critics see as the erosion of democratic principles in the United States, particularly when it comes to dissent over U.S. foreign policy. In a sweeping crackdown on pro-Palestinian activism, former President Donald Trump recently authorized federal actions targeting student protestors, civil rights attorneys, and independent journalists. Among those detained was Mahmoud Khalil, a prominent Palestinian-American organizer and legal advocate, who was arrested without formal charges under a national security directive. His detention drew widespread condemnation from human rights organizations, who describe it as politically motivated and emblematic of a broader campaign to silence voices critical of Israeli policy. Israeli Drone Kills Young Palestinian Girl Fetching Water in Gaza

DaysofPal- Disturbing footage has emerged from northern Gaza showing the moment an Israeli drone targeted and killed a Palestinian girl as she attempted to fetch water for her family in Jabalia. According to Palestine Online, the child, already suffering from hunger and thirst amid Gaza's deepening humanitarian crisis, was struck by a missile fired from an Israeli reconnaissance drone. Witnesses said she was carrying water when the strike instantly killed her, leaving her small body in charred fragments. The incident underscores the grim reality for civilians in Gaza, where Israeli forces has continued to target residential areas and civilians regardless of age or gender. Areas like Jabalia, Zeitoun, Shuja'iyya, and Tuffah have been declared 'red zones' by the Israeli occupation forces, coming under continuous bombardment by land and air. Only last week, separate drone footage revealed unprecedented destruction across eastern Gaza neighborhoods, documenting entire streets, homes, and infrastructure reduced to rubble. Since October 2023, ongoing Israeli crimes in Gaza have been described by human rights groups and international observers as genocide. The genocidal campaign has included mass killings, systematic starvation, destruction of civilian infrastructure, and forced displacement, in defiance of United Nations resolutions and orders from the International Court of Justice demanding an end to the violence. Health authorities in Gaza report that the war has claimed more than 61,000 lives, left 154,088 people wounded, and displaced hundreds of thousands. Over 9,000 remain missing, while famine conditions have killed at least 227 people, including 103 children. The death of the young girl in Jabalia serves as another stark reminder of the escalating civilian toll in Gaza, where basic survival, such as the simple act of fetching water, has become a deadly risk. Orthodox Church in Gaza: Israeli Assault on Zaytoun District Aims at Genocide and Forcible Displacement

DaysofPal- The Orthodox Church in Gaza has condemned the ongoing Israeli military assault in the Zaytoun neighborhood east of Gaza City, warning that its true objective is the extermination and forced displacement of the population. 'This is our land and we have no other place. We will not leave, no matter the consequences,' said Elias Al-Jelda, a member of the Council of Trustees of the Arab Orthodox Church in Gaza. Al-Jelda described the assault as 'a true annihilation of history, land, and every marker of Palestinian existence,' accusing Israeli forces of systematically demolishing homes, carrying out mass killings, and destroying essential infrastructure. He said the situation reflects 'genocide by every measure', noting that civilians are left with no refuge as entire streets are turned into mass graves. The Orthodox official also warned that the offensive targets some of the oldest Islamic and Christian holy sites in the world in an effort to erase Palestinian identity and memory. He stressed that the Israeli actions amount to 'a massacre' that spares neither Muslims nor Christians but affects the Palestinian people as a whole. Since last week, the Zaytoun neighborhood has faced continuous bombardment, with nearly 400 homes destroyed through a combination of explosive drones, heavy airstrikes, and artillery fire. Local residents and rights groups say the campaign mirrors previous Israeli offensives in Rafah, Khan Younis, and northern Gaza, where entire districts were leveled to force mass displacement. The assault comes less than a month after Israeli forces bombed the Church of the Holy Family in eastern Gaza, one of the enclave's oldest Christian institutions. The strike killed three people and wounded nine others, including parish priest Father Gabriel Romanelli. The church, affiliated with the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem, has since become a refuge for civilians, particularly Christian families displaced by the war. Christian leaders in Gaza have called on the international community to intervene urgently to halt what they describe as a campaign of genocide, protect the population, and safeguard holy sites under threat of destruction.
