Taylor Swift buys back rights to all master recordings - but it's bad news for Reputation fans
Taylor Swift has bought back all the rights to her master recordings - but has suggested she won't be re-releasing her Reputation album.
"All the music I've ever made now belongs to me," the star announced on her official website.
"I've been bursting tears of joy... ever since I found out this is really happening."2
The popstar had originally lost the rights to her first six albums in 2019 when her first record label, Big Machine, sold them to music executive Scooter Braun.
Swift said she was not given the opportunity to buy her work outright, and so had instead been meticulously re-recording them, releasing four "Taylor's Version" albums.
Just her debut album and Reputation remain to be re-released.
Braun later sold his stake in her albums to Shamrock Holdings, a Los Angeles investment fund.
Swift said she was "forever grateful" to Shamrock for allowing her to buy the rights to her music back.
On the release of Reputation she said she had "not even re-recorded a quarter of it", and while she said that the album and her debut album could "have their time to re-emerge when the time is right", she said: "If it happens, it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have."

Have you ever sucked a dick?'' she told Air Mail. Another woman, the model Laura La Rue, recounted a similar experience to the outlet, saying that when she was 16 years old in 2008, she was at an event in a private residence in Beverly Hills where Leto was 'watching her so intensely'. 'He asked how old I was. I said, 'I'm 16. How old are you?'' La Rue told Air Mail. Leto, who was 36 at the time, proceeded to ask for her number. The two began an email correspondence, which eventually led to her visiting Leto's home in April 2009, the outlet reports. 'I remember him teasing me the whole time I was there,' La Rue said, adding: 'He was flirting with me. He'd lean in close, then pull away, like it was a game.' In a statement to Air Mail, a representative of Leto said: 'Their communications contain nothing sexual or inappropriate … and Ms La Rue later applied to work as Mr Leto's personal assistant, further underscoring the absence of anything inappropriate in any of their interactions.' Air Mail reports La Rue denying ever applying for a personal assistant role with Leto. During a separate visit, La Rue said, Leto walked out of a room completely naked when she was 17 years old. 'He just walked out, dick out, like it was normal … I thought maybe this was just what adult men do,' she told Air Mail. Another woman who spoke to the outlet said that she and Leto began a texting relationship while she was still underage. According to her, Leto would ask her inappropriate questions during her visits to his house, such as: 'Do any of the little boys you hang out with fuck you?' A touch of glass! Glam greenhouses create frenzy in US
In the gardens of wealthy Americans, there is a new status symbol. It is a $115,000 (£85,000) Victorian-style greenhouse, designed and made by Alitex, a family business based in Petersfield, Hampshire, run and owned by Tom and Hilly Hall. Such is the popularity of its bespoke glasshouses that Alitex is considering setting up a base in the US to expand sales despite uncertainty over tariffs. Its greenhouses are made of powder-coated aluminium with a painted wood effect. The UK-US trade deal reduced the aluminium tariff from 25 per cent to zero. British fans include garden guru Alan Titchmarsh who told celebrity chef Mary Berry: 'Mary, if you're going to buy a greenhouse it has to be an Alitex.' David Beckham has installed an Allitex greenhouse in the grounds of his family's Cotswold mansion and shows off his horticultural successes on Instagram. Now there is a growing US clientele, drawn by Alitex's elegant 19th-Century aesthetic. Tom Hall says hotspots are Connecticut and New Hampshire, where the Wall Street wealthy reside or have second homes, along with oil-rich Texas. Bespoke greenhouses in the UK are individually priced but the firm has come up with eight freestanding designs with the National Trust starting at £18,750. There is no greenhouse tradition in the US, Hall explains, adding: 'Here,if people don't have one themselves their parents or their grandparents did. But that's not the case in America, where they are seen as something novel.'
