PGA Tour releases 2026 schedule: Doral returns; signature series expands
The Tour announced its 2026 schedule Tuesday with a few significant adjustments, including a return to Doral, which hosted an event between 1962-2016.
The Miami Championship will be played April 30-May 3, replacing the Mexico Open which will be moved to the fall portion of the schedule (yet to be released). Doral's Blue Monster hosted a LIV Golf event from 2022 through this year.
Continuing with the calendar-year schedule, the new season will begin in Maui with the signature event Sentry, Jan. 8-11. The one notable West Coast swing change is the WM Phoenix Open and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am swapping places, with the Scottsdale event going first. Pebble will now be followed by fellow signature event The Genesis Invitational, which returns to Riviera Country Club after a one-year absence because of the L.A.-area wildfires.
The Florida swing remains unchanged — with the Cognizant Classic, Arnold Palmer Invitational, Players Championship and Valspar Championship in March — followed by the run-up to the Masters at the Texas Children's Houston Open and Valero Texas Open.
Between the season's first two majors, there will be three signature events in four weeks: the RBC Heritage, Miami Championship and Truist Championship (up from two during that stretch in '25). The Truist will return to Quail Hollow after a one-off at Philadelphia Cricket Cub while Quail hosted the PGA.
The Wanamaker Trophy will be awarded next May at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania, followed by another Texas double in the CJ Cup Byron Nelson and the Charles Schwab Challenge. The two had been separated by the PGA in recent years.
The summer schedule is similar to 2025, with the Corales Puntacana now being held opposite The Open and the Rocket Classic moving to late July.
The Wyndham Championship will again be the regular-season finale, leading into the three-event FedExCup playoffs, which will conclude Aug. 30 at the Tour Championship (which appears will have the same format as this year).

The news came on Tuesday when the PGA announced next season's Tour schedule which included a stop at Doral in the first weekend of May — one of several signature events between the Masters in April and the start of the PGA Championship on May 11. Doral will play host to the 2026 Miami Championship which will boast a $20 million purse, however there are still some issues to be worked out by new CEO Brian Rolapp and his team. "We're excited to showcase the game's greatest players competing at golf's most iconic venues," he said in a statement (via The PGA moved away from Trump Doral in favor of Mexico City back in 2016 when Trump was first running for office as part of the Republican party. Doral debuted on the Tour way back in 1962. However, issues finding a title sponsor began to pop up after Trump purchased the resort in 2012 and still appear to be plaguing the venue to this day. The PGA is still reportedly looking for a sponsor for next year's tournament so it'll be interesting to see what company decides to step up. Trump Doral has played host to several rival LIV tournaments over each of the last four years but doesn't currently have a spot on the Saudi-backed league's calendar as of right now. More issues could arise On top of the sponsorship troubles, the Miami Championship's placement on the schedule could also pose an issue for the Tour. With where its sandwiched between so many of the year's big events, some of the PGA's top golfers could elect to pass up on an appearance at Doral with five massive tournaments over a six-week stretch — including the first two majors of the year. Time will tell how the Tour's athletes ultimately handle where they choose to participate but it's still noteworthy that the Trump-owned course is coming back to PGA competition. The first round of this playoff finale begins on Thursday morning. Im has finished between second place and 24th in each of his last 5 appearances at East Lake, which is impressive no matter the Tour Championship's format. Ludvig Aberg (-105) vs. Russell Henley (-118) Henley isn't very long off the tee, which can put him at a disadvantage at a longer course like East Lake. Viktor Hovland (-125) vs. Collin Morikawa (+100) Hovland has already won here once and he's up against Morikawa, who has been trending down for weeks. Cameron Young (-110) vs. J.J. Spaun (-110) Spaun is a steady player, but Young has a higher ceiling, especially after he broke through with his first win recently. Tour Championship – Top Asian It's Hideki Matsuyama and Im going head-to-head in this market and given Im's impressive track record here, he's the better value over Matsuyama, who's -175. Matsuyama hasn't had a top-10 since winning The Sentry in his first start of the year. Tour Championship – Top English It's risky to bet against Tommy Fleetwood (-140) and Justin Rose (+300) at a course where Hall has never played, but he's been too consistent and impressive in the last 2 months to ignore. Hall may not win the tournament but he can very easily finish higher than Fleetwood and Rose. Tour Championship – First-round leader Burns shot 4-under par in the first round last year, which didn't put him anywhere close to the top of the leaderboard thanks to the starting strokes, but it was one of the lowest rounds of the day.
