Kris Jenner, 69, channels Coco Chanel in elegant ensemble during Paris visit for Kim Kardashian's jewellery heist trial... following the duo's slew of pointed 'secret meaning' outfits

Daily Mail15-05-2025

Kris Jenner stepped out once again during her Paris visit to support her daughter Kim during the trial for her 2016 diamond heist.
The reality matriarch, 69, looked incredible in a boxy Chanel jacket, with the fashion house's CC logo on the buttons, paired with wide-leg black trousers and heels while departing the Ritz Hotel on Thursday afternoon.
Far from merely being a journey for justice, in true Jenner-Kardashian style, the mother and daughter have treated their trip to the French capital as a fashion parade.
Throughout their stay, dramatic ensembles appear to be steeped in meaning, complete with dripping jewels, masculine suits and recreations.
Kim was seen wearing a lavish diamond necklace and earrings as she testified at the trial of the gang accused of robbing her at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room in 2016 - a moment she revealed led her to believe she would be killed.
The influencer was joined by mother Kris as she made her way into the courtroom on Tuesday. Kardashian - who was dressed in a black blazer, skirt and sunglasses - waved at onlookers and press before pulling her mother aside for a brief chat.
It marks the first time Kim confronted the suspected 'grandpa gang' of Paris robbers who are accused of stealing jewellery worth millions of dollars from her.
In the aftermath, Kim was said to have vowed to stop showing off her jewels on social media.
For her court appearance, the reality star wore a $3 million necklace by Samer Halimeh New York, crafted in 18K white gold and featuring 80 diamonds, culminating in a 10.13-carat pear-shaped center stone.
She added a Sloan Pave diamond ear cuff worth $8,300 and a second Serti Sur Vide Earcuff by Repossi made up of 12 pear shaped diamonds for 4.55 carats.
Jeweller Zack Stone noted that Kim was sporting a diamond anklet that had been given to her by daughter North.
Stone told MailOnline: 'Kim's anklet looks like it could be the sentimental piece she received from North for Mother's Day, featuring the birthstones of her four children.
'Set with round-cut diamonds, it's delicately accented with a single pearl, a pear-cut garnet, a pear-cut zircon, and an emerald-cut emerald. I'd estimate its value at around $8,000.
'On her right hand, Kim is sporting a massive ring. While the exact cut is hard to confirm, the diamond appears to be at least 20 carats, set in a solitaire design that further emphasises its remarkable size.
'Given these details, it's safe to assume the ring carries a hefty price tag - my estimate would be around $3.5 million.'
Inside the courtroom, Kardashian broke down in tears as she shared her fears that she thought she would raped that evening.

'Ordering a woman to be sexually exploited is as easy as ordering a takeaway': How trafficking victims are being sold online

*Sarah thought she was going to a job interview to become a waitress. Warning: This story includes graphic descriptions of sexual exploitation and abuse, including rape Instead, she was lured to a strange man's flat and held against her will for six months. "One of the very first things he did was ask for me to hand over my passport to check that I had the right to work," she says. "I remember him asking me kind of odd questions, like, 'do you like sex?' "I remember him taking me into another room within this flat and closing the door behind him, then locking the door. And then I was raped." She says her passport was used to create an online profile to advertise her for sex. She had no control over the adverts, no access to the accounts, and was repeatedly abused by her trafficker and the men who booked her through the website. "My abuser would say: 'This man would like to see you, he's booked you, but he's requested sloppy seconds. Okay? I am going to rape you again so that when you go and see this man, you will take that to that man'," she tells Sky News. Sarah says she was forced to take on different names to match her trafficker's rotating online personas. She ultimately escaped after threatening to scream unless her abuser let her go. "He just glared at me, furious," she recalls. "But he opened the door. That was the moment I had. That was the moment I took. I ran out and never saw him again." Sarah's abuser is now in prison. But the website that he used to facilitate her abuse is still operating. A Sky News investigation has uncovered thousands of potential indicators of sexual exploitation on two of the UK's most prominent adult service websites, raising serious concerns about how traffickers may be using these platforms to advertise and abuse victims like Sarah. Analysis of more than 50,000 adverts on AdultWork and Vivastreet - two of the country's largest escorting platforms - revealed a high concentration of red flags linked to organised exploitation, including repeated use of the same contact numbers, and/or duplicated advert text, across adverts for different women in different geographical locations. These patterns, highlighted by the Sex Trafficking Indication Matrix (STIM), a research tool used to identify signs of trafficking, suggest some profiles may be linked to coercive networks. In one case, the same phone number appeared in eight separate adverts for at least five different women, all listed with identical ages, nearly identical descriptions, but different photographs and spread across multiple UK regions. Neither platform is accused of criminal activity, but experts and campaigners say the scale and nature of these indicators are red flags for potential abuse. Prostitution is legal in England and Wales. But the controlling of prostitution for gain, sometimes called pimping, and the more severe crime of trafficking, are not. "These platforms make it as easy to order a woman to be sexually exploited as it is to order a takeaway," said Kat Banyard, director of campaign group UK Feminista. "There are big questions for national policing to answer about why it is that this important investigation has had to be done by Sky News, and why it wasn't national policing that was launching an investigation to uncover the scale of potential criminality on these sites." Over several months, Sky News used STIM indicators to assess escorting adverts across two platforms. On Vivastreet alone, more than 7,000 were linked to phone numbers that appeared multiple times - more than half the total number of listings at the time. On AdultWork, over 1,000 ads were found to contain duplicated descriptions. In one example on AdultWork, the same wording was used in 357 different listings - a sign that content may have been copied and pasted to cover for multiple individuals under a single operator. The websites told us duplication can reflect legitimate activity, such as touring sex workers using aliases. However, opponents say their structure allows abusers to hide in plain sight. Sky News can also reveal that officials at the Home Office met representatives from escorting websites 25 times between 2017 and 2024, under the previous Conservative government. Critics argue these discussions have failed to lead to meaningful safeguards or regulation. A Home Affairs Committee report in 2023 was highly critical of this kind of engagement. And in parliament, pressure is building to take stronger action. Labour MP Tonia Antoniazzi has tabled an amendment to the Policing and Crime Bill that would seek to ban such websites altogether. "This is a thriving, multibillion-pound industry, and we're acting like there's nothing to see here," she says. "It's horrific, and I think more people need to be speaking out about it - this gives parliamentarians the opportunity to discuss and debate it on the floor of the house." In a statement, a Vivastreet spokesperson said: "Experts are clear that indicators that may suggest exploitation can have innocent explanations. "For example, it is a fact that many sex workers use different names and personas, and 'touring' - moving for short periods of time to different areas to take bookings - is a well-known practice. "We take safety extremely seriously and deploy industry-leading security measures to detect, report, and remove potentially exploitative content, including new requirements that all adult category advertisers must undergo age and ID verification." AdultWork said: "Sexual exploitation is not tolerated in any form. "We have strict internal policies in place to reinforce this and we are continually updating our internal systems for detecting accounts and requesting additional documents for evidence of legitimacy. "We make it a priority to fully cooperate and comply with all law enforcement requests. Additionally, any indications or reports of trafficking are fully reviewed and if we find them to be suspicious, we proactively contact law enforcement." Whether escorting platforms can be better regulated - or whether they should be outlawed entirely - remains a point of national debate. But with mounting evidence of potential exploitation and growing political scrutiny, campaigners say inaction is no longer an option. "These platforms are so poorly moderated and poorly regulated," Sarah says. "No one can sit behind a screen and know if someone's being coerced or is at the mercy of a predator."

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez 'dial down the bling' on Venice wedding after furore around THAT all-female space flight... but it'll still cost nearly £10m, ALISON BOSHOFF reveals

The eyes of the world will inevitably be on Venice later this month when financial colossus Jeff Bezos marries fiancee Lauren Sanchez. Everyone in the Italian city is expecting a staggering display of wealth from Amazon-founder Bezos, with money to burn, and Ms Sanchez, who looks like she enjoys lighting the match. And yet, despite the huge wealth and profile of the couple and their celebrity guests, it can be revealed that this will be a publicity-shy and surprisingly small event. Modest, even. With fewer than 200 guests – a fraction of what was expected – and a final bill which is said to be less than £10million, it is clear that the bride and groom are dialling down on the bling. As an impeccably placed source tells me: 'The wedding has had a make-under.' Indeed, the event is going to cost the equivalent of loose change for the groom, who is worth $220billion and spends $34million a year just to run his yacht – the $500 million Koru. The yacht will be moored at San Basilio – the closest the giant vessel can get to the centre of Venice due to regulations to protect the city's fragile ecosystem – and be in sight of the Hotel Cipriani, where many guests will be lodged. It's thought Jeff, Lauren and their immediate families will stay on the nine-bedroom yacht. Other guests will be split between the Cipriani and Aman hotels nearby. The only famous couple definitely going are actor Orlando Bloom and his wife Katy Perry. Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian are invited, but their attendance has not been confirmed. Instead, the guests of honour will be Bezos' mum, Jackie, who had Jeff when she was 17, and his adoptive father and life-long inspiration, Mike Bezos. The island of San Giorgio Maggiore will potentially be the destination for the couple's nuptials The couple loaned him $245,000, their life savings, to start Amazon in 1995 and Mike, who now runs the Bezos family foundation, is a particularly impressive individual, having emigrated to the US alone from Cuba aged 16. So why the – relatively – humble plans? I understand part of the reason was the PR disaster of the all-female Blue Origin 'space flight' in April – when Lauren and her five crew, including Perry, donned skin-tight space suits to blast to the edge of the Earth's atmosphere. The project attracted huge criticism for being a meaningless stunt. I am told the couple have not sent paper or email invitations, the better to sail under the radar. And they have trimmed their guest list to the bare bones. 'It is very sweet, very understated,' says a guest. 'It is not an ostentatious blow out. 'They understand that the space flight criticism was bad for a reason and are responding to it by being less 'Marie Antoinette'.' The source adds: 'People really underestimate Lauren and Jeff. Truly, they are good people. They don't want the wedding to be a lightning rod for inequities in the world. It's just a wedding.' That's as maybe, but the celebrations are still expected to take place at jaw-droppingly beautiful – and exclusive – locations. Sources in Venice believe the nuptials will happen at the Fondazione Cini – a monastery on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. Crucially, it will be free on June 25 – the most likely day of the wedding – as it is closed to the public on Wednesdays. Having twice hosted the G7 summit, it can offer complete security and privacy and is close to where the Koru will dock. Sources also expect celebrations at the palazzo apartment owned by Bezos' close friend Diane von Furstenberg. Local sources indicate that all 79 rooms of the fabled Hotel Cipriani have been block booked from June 24-26. A suite in high season costs around £20,000 a night. The Cipriani boasts the largest swimming pool in Venice and the Casanova gardens, where the infamous seducer used to meet his conquests. The couple are also believed to have booked out the Aman Canal Grande, the 24-bedroom palazzo where George Clooney tied the knot with lawyer Amal in 2014. Plans are being co-ordinated with the mayor of Venice's office to minimise disruption but some locals concerned about overtourism are planning protests. 'This city is not for sale, it is not a playground for the rich,' said activist Ruggero Tallon.
