Unless you're a bisexual woman living in Brooklyn, baseball caps might not be a huge part of your everyday wardrobe. But I—a bisexual woman living in Brooklyn—am here to inform you that they absolutely should be. Why? They'll cover up a bad hair day, protect you from the sun, and inexplicably make you look effortlessly cool. Baseball caps also have tons of styling potential that frequently gets overlooked, and adding a few to your wardrobe opens you up to a whole host of outfit opportunities you've probably never thought of. They're surprisingly versatile—yeah, they obviously look sick with cargo pants and leather jackets. But a ball cap also wears nicely with silk scarves, suiting, and tennis-inspired looks. Examples of all of these styling possibilities and more, right ahead. Like baseball caps, silk scarves have been having a main character moment these last few seasons. And what we've learned from this is that the two work twice as hard together. The accessory combo is unexpected and eclectic in the best way. I love to channel the TikTok's Wrong Shoe Theory with my accessory collection (Wrong Accessory Theory?), but it's also important to love your trucker hat for who it is. That means leaning into the vibe and playing up the Hot Mechanic energy in a barn jacket and utility pants. As with most accessories, baseball caps are an easy yes when it comes to trench coat styling. Together, the pair give off a casual-cool vibe. Taylor Swift's signature glam has its merits—I won't deny it. But if you're feeling a little edgier, try swapping her cherry red lip for a baseball cap in the same shade. It'll give a cool contrast to the classic all-black 'fit. If you've scrolled through street style pics from Copenhagen Fashion Week, one thing is clear: Those girls love a blue striped button-down. Add a baseball cap and a frilly bag to dupe the Scandi-girl look. Any frat boy will tell you: This is a winning combo.
