Man fled through window after police found woman dead in Allston apartment

Yahoo22-04-2025
A woman was found dead inside an apartment in Allston on Monday night and a man seen fleeing through a window was arrested shortly after.
An 'unknown' 911 call for an incident on Glenville Avenue that was 'likely domestic' came in at 7:48 p.m. on Monday to the Boston Police Department, according to Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin.
A woman was found dead inside the apartment when officers arrived, McLaughlin said.
But as the officers were investigating the scene, a man who was also inside the home broke through a window and fled the apartment, McLaughlin said.
This led to a short foot chase through several yards and streets in the area, McLaughlin said. The man tried to steal someone's car from the neighborhood as he fled, but was eventually tased and arrested.
As of late Monday night, Boston police were still trying to determine the relationship between the man and the woman found in the apartment.
The investigation was 'very active and fluid" as of Monday night, police said, and at least one weapon was found at the scene. As of Tuesday morning, the identity of the man who was arrested and his charges were not publicly announced.

Over 100 bicycles, dirt bikes, and scooters seen entering and exiting Boston highways

Over 100 bicycles, dirt bikes, and scooters entered and exited highways in Boston this afternoon, prompting State Police to issue an air wing response. The group was first reported around 2 p.m. as they made their way into the O'Neil Tunnel on I-93 south via the Zakim Bridge. They initially exited the highway at Government Center but returned shortly thereafter. State Police encountered the group in the area of D Street and Summer Street, where a dirt bike collided with a cruiser. The operator fled on foot, and the bike was identified as stolen. Troopers then arrested a different individual, a 22-year-old, on a different dirt bike at the scene of the crash. He is expected to face charges including disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The State Police Air Wing has been deployed to monitor the group, which remains active in and around Boston. Authorities advise the public not to engage with the group if encountered on public roadways. This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available. 1 person arrested after over 100 people illegally ride bikes on Boston highways

Over 100 people were illegally riding bicycles, dirt bikes, and motorized scooters through the streets of Boston on Saturday afternoon, according to Massachusetts State Police. Police say they received reports of the group riding recklessly shortly after 2 p.m. The bikers originally rode into the O'Neil Tunnel on Interstate 993 heading south on the Zakim Bridge. They then left the highway at Government Center, but later returned to I-93, according to officials. Video from the highway shows bikers doing wheelies and other tricks as they ride towards the exit. At one point, the bikers exited the tunnel in the Seaport. Police say that a dirt bike then crashed into a police cruiser in the intersection of D Street and Summer Street. The rider then abandoned the bike and ran away, according to a press release. The bike was later confirmed to be stolen. Witnesses say they saw a bike leaning up against a police car, but it did not appear the vehicle was damaged from the incident. A 22-year-old rider was also arrested during the incident and is expected to face charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to police. His identity has not been released. It is unknown if any other bikers were arrested. Police did fly a helicopter over Boston throughout the day to monitor the riders. It was described by onlookers as a chaotic scene as the riders swerved around traffic. "They were doing some wheelies, yeah. They were riding pretty good," said Clint Sanders. "It was mostly kids. Yeah looked like mostly young kids." Zack Wendt, another witness, voiced mixed feelings about the incident. "It's definitely not safe," he said. "If they're dangerous, then it's not good, but if they're just riding around for a joy ride, let 'em do it." Authorities are now urging the public to remain vigilant and ask them not to interact with the group if they see them on a public road. Riding a bike on a highway is illegal in Massachusetts. The City of Boston website says that everyone is welcome to ride a bike on all public streets in the Commonwealth, but they are required to follow traffic laws.

Boston Police searching for suspect that stabbed man after argument at Stop & Shop in Dorchester

Boston Police are searching for a suspect after a man was stabbed multiple times following an argument at a Stop & Shop in Dorchester on Saturday. Officers were called to the grocery store on Blue Hill Avenue just before 12:15 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man in his fifties who had been stabbed multiple times. They said that the stabbing happened outside the store. "Preliminary information indicates that this incident stemmed from a verbal altercation between the suspect and the victim on store property," a spokesperson for the Boston Police Department said. The victim was taken to a nearby Boston hospital, where he is in stable condition. "At this time, no arrests have been made, and there is no information to suggest any ongoing danger to the public," the spokesperson said. It is not known what led to the argument and whether or not the stabbing happened inside the store or in the parking lot. Dorchester is a neighborhood of Boston. Stop & Shop is a popular grocery store that serves New England, parts of New York, and New Jersey.
