Criminal charges won't be filed after "Senior Assassin" game left Grand Prairie teen on life support
Isaac Leal, 17, has been on life support at an Arlington hospital for nearly a month after falling off the back of a vehicle while playing a game called "Senior Assassin."
APD said Leal and other students were playing the viral game when Leal onto the back of a Jeep Wrangler. Leal rode on the back of the Jeep through a residential neighborhood on April 21.
Shortly after the Jeep made a turn, Leal fell off the vehicle and was injured. The driver of the Jeep stopped and 911 was called. EMS responded to the scene for what was described as an unconscious person and Leal was transported to the hospital.
APD said investigators found no evidence to support claims that the driver of the Jeep was driving recklessly at the time or intentionally trying to cause Leal to fall off the vehicle. APD said no criminal offense occurred.
Family reports encouraging signs for 17-year-old on life support
Leal's family said he is showing signs of responsiveness from the hospital bed where he has been for three weeks.

"Our kid is a fighter," said Jose Leal, Isaac's dather. "You know, basically, what I can say about my son — he's never been a person to give up."
Leal said his son moved his legs on command.
"We see certain characteristics, like a smile or we see tears coming down his eyes," Leal said. "You know, those are the things that we're looking at. That gives us hope."
While he fights for his life, a table was decorated in honor of the South Grand Prairie High School senior Monday night at the baseball team's annual banquet.

Injury prompts school districts to warn against playing "Senior Assassin"
Isaac Leal's injury and the attention it's received have prompted a number of North Texas school districts to issue warnings and threaten students caught playing the game. The "Senior Assassin" game has become an unofficial tradition among students across the country.
Family searches for long-term care facility
The family says it's yet to find a long-term care facility that will take Isaac Leal. Despite his grave condition, they haven't given up hope that he could attend his senior class graduation in two weeks.
"Isaac's supposed to be graduating May 25," Jose Leal said. "We're hoping that he's able to walk, be out of here before May 25. That's what we're hoping for. We're asking God to deliver."

Police release name of Wylie ISD employee who died at district transportation facility
An employee was killed Tuesday at the Wylie Independent School District Transportation Facility, according to a release from the Abilene Police Department. The pedestrian, Lupe Garcia, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was injured by a bus in the facility, police said. Beloved Florida Keys fishing captain killed after road rage dispute near Orlando
A well-known Florida Keys charter fishing captain was fatally shot near Orlando late last week following what police say appears to be an argument with another man over traffic. Joseph Hall, Jr., 43, was pronounced dead at HCA Lake Monroe Hospital in Sanford around 5:45 p.m. Thursday night. Just minutes earlier, witnesses told police they saw another man, 24-year-old Jaden Harris, running after Hall at an apartment building parking lot with a handgun and shooting at him several times. Harris, who stayed at the scene, told Sanford police officers that he was driving his white BMW sedan behind Hall's Jeep Gladiator on South Mangoustine Avenue, and that Hall was driving very slowly. Harris told cops he passed Hall, who reacted by acting like he was going to use his Jeep to hit the BMW, according to his arrest report. Harris told police he followed Hall to try taking a picture of his license plate. When they arrived at a Stop sign at West Seminole Boulevard and Mangoustine Avenue, Hall rolled his window down and called him an expletive for a female body part. Harris followed Hall as he made a left turn onto West Seminole Boulevard. Hall pulled into the apartment complex on Marbella Lane, Harris told police. There, Harris told police Hall blocked the parking lot exit with his Jeep and got out of the vehicle, approaching the BMW, according to the report. As Hall got closer to the BMW, Harris let him know that 'had it on him,' meaning his gun, according to the report. He said Hall 'lunged' toward the car, and that's when he fired his first shot, the report states. Per the arrest report, when the first officer arrived and found Harris standing by his car, the cop asked him if he was the one who shot Hall. He responded, 'I had to because he was blocking me in,' the report states. After detectives asked Harris to tell them more about what was said before he opened fire, he told them he wanted an attorney, so they stopped questioning him, according to the report. Based on what witnesses told police, what Harris told them, and after viewing security camera footage from the apartment building, officers arrested him on a charge of second-degree murder. The footage did not capture the shooting, but shows Harris' BMW rolling backwards before he catches up to it and puts the car in park. This corroborates what witnesses say, that he got out of the car and kept firing, according to the report. Detectives said Harris 'had several opportunities to disengage from pursuing Joseph but maliciously continued instead. Based on Jaden's post Miranda interview, he never stated that at the time of the incident he was ever in fear for his life.' Detectives also note in the report that neither Harris nor the witnesses ever said Hall was armed. 'Joseph did not cause Jaden any injury or harm to him that would justify the use of deadly force,' the report states. A judge ordered Harris held without bond until his scheduled Oct. 7 arraignment, according to Seminole County court records. News of Hall's death hit the Upper Keys community hard after his wife, Devi, with whom he shares two children, posted about it via Facebook on Saturday. 'He was full of life, laughter, and love, and I am so grateful for every moment we had together,' she wrote. Hall owned and captained the 65-foot Sailors Choice Party Fishing Boat as well as the Anglers Choice sportfishing charter boat, both based out of the mile marker 99.7 oceanside marina in Key Largo. Tributes from loyal customers, crew and colleagues have continued to pour in to the Sailors Choice Facebook page since Hall's death. 'We are so deeply sorry for your loss. Kick Streamer XenaTheWitch Arrested After Shooting Innocent Bystander With Paintball Gun
What should've been a harmless, free-for-all $30,000 Lady Bird Lake scavenger hunt in Austin turned into an actual crime scenario after Kick streamer Amaris 'XenaTheWitch' Sampson allegedly shot an innocent person in the thigh with a paintball gun. Yep, you read that correctly: the 29-year-old social media personality confused an onlooker with a participant, pulled the trigger, and found himself cuffed. Police verified the altercation took place sometime about 5:55 p.m. on August 9th along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. Sampson was booked into Travis County Jail as of Wednesday and now stands charged with two Class A misdemeanors: assault with bodily injury and deadly conduct. If convicted, she would face up to seven years in jail for a paintball splat. The Viral Video That Got Her Arrested The entire incident has been live-streamed and has gone viral since. During the course of the montage, pandemonium broke out: 'Adriana! That's a live worker you nearly killed.''Huh? Yeah, that's a work!''I don't give a f***.' Seconds later, one can hear the injured bystander utter: 'Yes, she f***** shot me. It was one of those girls.' A Pattern of Recklessness If you are one who is used to XenaTheWitch's antics, this is far from breaking news. Her streaming career has been controversial: Her cameraman was accused in January of taking an Uber driver's phone while live on stream and tossing it under the driver's car. She stunned everybody in November of 2023 by pissing out of her bedroom window on camera, yes, for views. So the paintball debacle appears more like a predictable overextension of a streamer attempting to outdo herself from her previous prank instead of an accident. Community Reaction and Fallout The streaming community is split. Some are running to her defense, labeling it a 'misunderstanding in the course of an event,' while others are saying shooting unarmed civilians in public is not 'content,' it's against the law. The victim reportedly told police that she had been injured and in agony, and APD was extremely adamant that Sampson's actions were reckless and endangered others in the park. Salt in the wound, the event was even hosted by fellow streamer Paul 'Ice Poseidon' Denino, who is himself known for controversy. The scavenger hunt was set up as wild and high-stakes fun, but the 'stakes' ended up being a police record.
