Finally, the much-anticipated event of Miss World 2025 came to an end with Opal Suchata being crowned at the beauty pageant. The event had 108 contestants, with Nandini Gupta representing India. Nandini came a long way, but despite her 100 per cent efforts, she couldn't make it to the top 8. Though Nandini couldn't get crowned, the internet is pouring all the love and appreciation for taking the nation to this level. Who is Nandini Gupta?
India's contender at the finale, Nandini Gupta, won the Femina Miss India World 2023 title. She is 21 years old and comes from the city of Kota. Gupta holds a degree in Business Management. She completed her schooling from Saint Paul's Senior Secondary School in Mumbai and then went to Lala Lajpat Rai College to pursue her passion for business and leadership.
In her family, Nandini's father is a farmer and her mother is a homemaker. Gupta is the eldest among her siblings and has a younger sister. 'I grew up playing in the fields of mustard, millets, and black chickpeas,' she told SheThePeople in an interview.
In the same interview with Femina, Nandini revealed that apart from business management, she also dreamed of becoming Miss World.
She said, 'As a 10-year-old, I always wanted to compete in Femina Miss India when I wanted the crown for its beauty. But as I grew old, I realised it is just much more than the crown; it's a journey that only a few get to experience. A platform that gives you wings to fly high. Femina Miss India is a place which makes an ordinary girl extraordinary, keeping her simplicity intact.'
Needless to say, Nandini has proved herself to be an inspiration for many young women out there.
