Over 50 Dead in Heavy Rains in Pakistan

Israa Farhan More than 50 people have been killed in northern Pakistan following flash floods and landslides caused by heavy monsoon rains, according to the country's disaster management authorities on Friday. The majority of fatalities occurred in the mountainous province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 43 people lost their lives, provincial disaster management officials confirmed. In the Pakistan-administered region of Kashmir, seven deaths were reported. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a fresh warning of further heavy rainfall in the northwestern regions, urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel in high-risk areas. Monsoon rains account for roughly 70 to 80 percent of South Asia's annual precipitation, providing vital water for agriculture and food security. However, they also bring destruction and loss of life. In 2022, catastrophic flooding during the monsoon season inundated one-third of Pakistan's territory, killing around 1,700 people. Authorities have deployed emergency teams to the affected regions, where many remain trapped under debris from collapsed homes. Rescue operations are ongoing as forecasters predict more rain in the coming days. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated

Egypt Sees Final Day of Heatwave on Friday, Cairo 38°C

Yara Sameh The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts that the country will continue experiencing a rise in temperature on Friday. Extremely hot and humid weather will prevail during the day nationwide. The weather will seem hotter due to the high humidity levels, which will push up the heat index 2-4 degrees. The country will also witness mist on agricultural and highway roads from the north of the country to Cairo. Wind will occur occasionally across the country. Light to moderate rainfall, sometimes thunderous, is also predicted to hit intermittently in Halayeb, Shalateen, and the far south of Upper Egypt. Furthermore, maritime navigation is also expected to be disrupted in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez, with winds averaging 40 to 60 km/h and waves ranging between 2:3 meters. The Mediterranean Sea will experience moderate waves ranging between 1.75 and 2.25 meters in height with northwest surface winds. Hot and humid weather is also expected to prevail in Egypt at night and in the early hours. The predicted temperatures for the following cities are 38°C in Cairo, 32°C in Alexandria, 32°C in Marsa Matruh, 45°C in Sohag, 46°C in Qena, and 49°C in Aswan. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated

Heavy Rain Paralyses South Korean Capital

Israa Farhan Torrential rain has battered South Korea's capital region for a second consecutive day, leaving at least one person dead, flooding hundreds of homes and roads, and forcing more than a thousand residents to evacuate. Between 250 and 300 millimeters of rain fell on parts of Seoul and nearby cities, including Paju, Incheon, and Gimpo, by Thursday morning. Streets in several districts turned into muddy rivers, stranding vehicles and prompting residents to rush to save belongings from flood-damaged homes. Authorities issued warnings for floods and landslides in areas close to rivers, streams, and hillsides. Emergency workers have rescued at least 145 people and responded to hundreds of incidents involving blocked roads and other storm-related disruptions. The severe downpour comes amid growing concerns over extreme weather patterns in the Korean Peninsula, with experts warning that climate change is intensifying rainfall events, raising the risk of flash floods and landslides in densely populated urban areas. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated
