F1 box office collection day 2: Brad Pitt's F1 stormed theatres across the globe on July 27 and zoomed off to a massive global opening, performing way better than expected in the US and overseas. Directed by Top Gun: Maverick's Joseph Kosinski and featuring some real-life Formula One drivers, the movie has so far racked up around $39.5 million (₹328.5 crore) from 78 overseas markets in the first three days (Wednesday–Friday). This includes some paid previews held earlier in the week, according to Deadline.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Lewis Hamilton and Jerry Bruckheimer-backed F1 had a solid start in India. The film opened on Friday with an estimated Rs 5.5 crore net across all languages, among which the English version brought in the highest earnings, a Rs 5 crore haul, while Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu contributed smaller shares. On Saturday, Day 2, the film's early estimates showed a noticeable jump, landing at around Rs 8.5 crore, taking the total to Rs 14 crore net. The film performed the best in metro cities, including Chennai, which topped the list with over 62% occupancy, Hyderabad with 54%, and Bengaluru at 48%. On the other hand, the Hindi version had a lukewarm response at around 10.6%, while Tamil regions saw moderate interest at around 19%.

According to Deadline, by Sunday, the film's overseas earnings are estimated to reach $80 million to $85 million (Rs 668 crore to Rs 710 crore), making it surpass Brad Pitt's previous extravaganzas, including World War Z ($73.8M /Rs 616 crore) and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood ($64.6M /Rs 539 crore). Now, when you add the U.S. numbers, the film is racing towards a $140 million-plus (Rs 1,169 crore+) global weekend. It has already become one of the highest-grossing Apple Original Films.

In China, the film raked in around $6 million (approx. Rs 50 crore) by Saturday alone (please note that the Saturday number isn't included in the $39.5M total mentioned above). Meanwhile, China's Friday collection was the biggest ever opening day for an Apple film. The film also marks Brad Pitt's best debut in the country. In Mexico, too, the film held the title of best opening day for any Apple title, and the same goes for Australia.
In US, F1 opened with $25 million (approx. Rs 208 crore) across Friday, including earlier previews ($2.8M, approx. Rs 23 crore from special screenings before Thursday). The movie beat Killers of the Flower Moon, which made $23.2M (approx. Rs 193 crore) in its first weekend, making this Apple's best domestic opening as well.

Kuberaa hit the big screens on Friday, June 20, in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie, hit by weekday snags, earned ₹ 69 crore in its first week in theatres. Of this, Kuberaa collected ₹ 48.6 during the first weekend. During the first week in theatres, Kuberaa's Telugu variant earned ₹ 48.7 crore and ₹ 18.38 crore in Tamil. In Kannada, the movie minted ₹ 20,00,000, and ₹ 1.72 crore in Hindi. The movie's Malayalam version failed to earn anything at the box office. In the Hindi-speaking belt, the movie faces key competition from Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, which was also released on the same day and has earned ₹ 116.74 crore in 10 days. According to Sacnilk, Kuberaa was catapulted to near ₹ 80 crore by the improved earnings on Saturday, Day 9, when the movie witnessed a 68 per cent jump. According to Sacnilk, Kuberaa collected ₹ 117 crore worldwide until Saturday, including ₹ 88.85 crore (India gross) and ₹ 28.15 crore from overseas. Kuberaa follows the story of a beggar who undergoes a dramatic transformation. The film touches upon themes of greed, ambition, moral conflicts, and more faced by the cast, ultimately leading to redemption.
