Maharashtra Congress president says office-bearers will lose post if they do not keep in step with party guidelines

on Tuesday said that if district presidents and party office-bearers do not follow the guidelines prescribed by the organisation, then they will be relieved from their post.
Presiding over a meeting of the MPCC, Sapkal said that as per the directives of the
AICC
, the MPCC will organise a 'Save the Constitution' and 'Sadbhavana' yatras across the state.
The MPCC has organised a
Sadbhavana Yatra
in Nashik on April 29, a Sadbhavana Satyagraha on May 1, and a Sadbhavana Yatra in Parbhani on May 4 and 5.
Sapkal said that in view of the directives of the AICC, the entire year is being observed as organisational year — all out steps will be taken to strengthen the organisation at all levels. "Office-bearers will have to devote time for the party. The district president will have to give 10 days in a month. They are expected to move around the entire district. They should take active part in the agitational plan given by the party," he said.

Sapkal said a specific action plan has been given to all party office-bearers and they are expected to submit their monthly report to the party. "If an office-bearer is absent for three consecutive meetings, then he will be relieved from the party post," he said.
On the language controversy, Sapkal said it was wrong on the part of the chief minister to impose the Hindi language. He said the decision appeared to have been taken unilaterally without consulting stakeholders or the language committee.
In the evening, Congress politicians led by Sapkal visited the recently demolished Jain temple. Sapkal was accompanied by former ministers Vijay Wadettiwar and Nashim Khan. "It was wrong on the part of the Mahayuti govt to demolish the temple," Sapkal said.

Aided school teachers: Kerala HC asks govt to provide details of steps needed for fair selection process
Kochi: High court has directed the director of general education (DGE) to file an affidavit within seven days, detailing the steps required to ensure a fair selection process for the appointment of teachers in govt-aided schools in the state. Justice D K Singh gave the order on a petition filed by certain higher secondary school teachers challenging the deduction of a levy towards the contributory pension under the National Pension Scheme (NPS) from their salaries. In its interim order, the bench observed that, as of now, managers have absolute discretion to appoint any qualified individual as a teacher without following any formal selection process or advertising the posts. The court also questioned how such appointments are being approved by the educational authorities despite the absence of a due selection procedure. Prima facie, the court noted that there appears to be a nexus between school managements and educational authorities, enabling appointments not based on merit but on considerations other than merit.
