In a bid to strengthen the organisation of Maharashtra unit of the party, the Congress leadership has chalked out mandatory tasks for office-bearers, ranging from district to block level. 'District presidents should travel to different blocks for at least 10 full days a month, implement the agitation programmes given by the party, and hold at least one meeting a month, while block presidents should travel to wards for at least eight full days a month. They should participate in the agitation of the district Congress. They should hold at least one meeting in a month,' said Maharashtra Congress chief Harshvardhan Sapkal after the meeting of state executive committee. He said that All India Congress Committee (AICC) has declared 2025 as the year of organization, and accordingly, emphasis will be placed on strengthening the organisation. 'State office-bearers will have to tour the districts assigned to them for at least six full days a month and fulfil the responsibilities given by the state office for two days. A report should be submitted to the state office on the 10th of every month. If the office-bearer is absent in three consecutive meetings without any genuine reason, he will be relieved of duty,' the Congress state president said. Sapkal said the Sadbhavana Yatra will be organized in Nashik on April 29 and the Sadbhavana Satyagraha on May 1. The Sadbhavana Yatra and the Constitution Protection Yatra have been organized in Parbhani on May 4 and 5, he said.

Mumbai: MPCC president Harshawardhan Sapkal on Tuesday said that if district presidents and party office-bearers do not follow the guidelines prescribed by the organisation, then they will be relieved from their post. Presiding over a meeting of the MPCC, Sapkal said that as per the directives of the AICC , the MPCC will organise a 'Save the Constitution' and 'Sadbhavana' yatras across the state. The MPCC has organised a Sadbhavana Yatra in Nashik on April 29, a Sadbhavana Satyagraha on May 1, and a Sadbhavana Yatra in Parbhani on May 4 and 5. Sapkal said that in view of the directives of the AICC, the entire year is being observed as organisational year — all out steps will be taken to strengthen the organisation at all levels. "Office-bearers will have to devote time for the party. The district president will have to give 10 days in a month. They are expected to move around the entire district. On the language controversy, Sapkal said it was wrong on the part of the chief minister to impose the Hindi language. He said the decision appeared to have been taken unilaterally without consulting stakeholders or the language committee. In the evening, Congress politicians led by Sapkal visited the recently demolished Jain temple. Sapkal was accompanied by former ministers Vijay Wadettiwar and Nashim Khan. "It was wrong on the part of the Mahayuti govt to demolish the temple," Sapkal said.
