The Philadelphia Eagles are conducting more work on running backs in the upcoming NFL Draft.
According to his Instagram story, Syracuse running back LeQuint Allen visited the NovaCare Complex this week on a pre-draft visit. Allen is a Millville, New Jersey native, so this qualifies as a local visit.

Allen is a versatile back with adequate size and speed. He's decisive and gets what he can on most carries but lacks burst, imagination and contact force to create on his own. He's a reliable pass-catching option with natural hands and an ability to run routes and find yards after the catch. His pass-protection willingness and execution stands out against others in this class. Allen's ability to cover kicks and return punts adds to his value as a potential Day 3 pick who could compete for a role as a third-down option.
Philadelphia hosted Texas RB Jaydon Blue on a top-30 visit last month, so they're clearly interested in adding more talent to their backfield. The Eagles extended Saquon Barkley this offseason and have newly signed A.J. Dillon and second-year player Will Shipley behind him.
Kenneth Gainwell was the team's primary pass-catching back on third downs last season. With Gainwell leaving for Pittsburgh in free agency, Allen's versatile skill set could help fill those snaps.
Allen posted 2,085 rushing yards and 30 total touchdowns over his final two seasons at Syracuse.

The San Francisco 49ers agreed on a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles to bring edge rusher Bryce Huff to the Bay Area in exchange for what was initially reported as a "mid-round" draft pick. Advertisement We now officially know the exchange included a conditional fifth-round pick that could turn into a fourth based on Huff's performance with the 49ers. Judging by both teams' situations, you could argue that they both came away winners here. San Francisco was facing a mass exodus of quality defensive players this offseason and needed help on the edge opposite of Nick Bosa. For Philadelphia, they were clearly not in favor of keeping Huff after a letdown season resulted in him being a healthy scratch in the Eagles' Super Bowl win. What do the grades say? Pretty similar. ESPN believes both teams benefitted equally and earned a B+ in the deal. Advertisement On the San Fran side, Seth Walder writes: "This is a pretty reasonable play for San Francisco. As poorly as Huff played last season, there's still plenty to like in his history, and his pass rush win rate remained solid despite his struggles. "Though that shows Huff slowing down, it's still a better-than-average get-off for an edge rusher." The best part of the deal for the 49ers is the cost financially. Huff had restructured his contract with Philly to make this work, allowing San Francisco to just under $8 million for the year. Philadelphia is stuck paying more, but the restructure is much more beneficial than being responsible for his three-year, $51.1 million contract without the player. The Eagles benefit as they get to unload a player who did not meet on-field expectations last season and be rewarded with a high Day 3 draft pick. Advertisement "From 2020 to 2022, Huff recorded a 26% pass rush win rate at edge -- a top-10 number at the position had he qualified ..." Walder continued about Huff's 10-sack season that earned him that contract ahead of last year. "His win rate fell to a career-low 19% (which is still higher than average), but the sacks weren't there (2.5) and his playing time dipped before he missed time in the second half of the season to have wrist surgery." The Eagles still have a loaded roster and this departure shouldn't do too much to their pass rush depth with them bringing back a collection of formidable pieces in Nolan Smith Jr., Azeez Ojulari and Joshua Uche. Plus, Philadelphia gets to save a bit of cap space by shipping off some of Huff's contract. Everything seems even right now, but that's the funny thing about grading trades with over three months until the season starts. Things can happen one way or another to cause drastic reconsideration for the true winner here. Advertisement The Niners are banking on reuniting Huff with defensive coordinator Robert Saleh (his head coach during his career-year with the New York Jets in 2023) will pay major dividends. As the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles may not feel a strong sense of urgency to swing for the fences. Then again, the chance to repeat as champions could be just the exact type of motivating factor general manager Howie Roseman needs to execute his latest blockbuster trade. Specifically, analyst and former NFL general manager Marc Ross would like to see the Eagles swing a trade for Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro sack artist Trey Hendrickson. 'The Eagles dominated the Chiefs in the Super Bowl with a relentless pass rush, but Philadelphia has questions on that front heading into the 2025 campaign, given the loss of Josh Sweat, Nolan Smith's injury and the inherent need for young guys like Moro Ojomo (2023 seventh-round pick) and Jalyx Hunt (2024 third-rounder) to level up. General manager Howie Roseman hit big on the trade for wide receiver A.J. Brown in 2022. Trading for Hendrickson, who's in a contract standoff with the Bengals, could provide a similar effect for the defense. Plus, the Eagles just cleared more cap space by dealing Huff. This would be a case of the rich getting richer — and a move I wouldn't put past Philly. That move not only opened up a few more snaps for others, it also cleared more cap space. In other words, the Eagles could certainly look to reinforce their pass-rush with the NFL's reigning sack leader. Though, in addition to paying whatever price the Bengals are seeking, which may be roughly a second-round pick, Philadelphia will still have to come to terms on a contract extension for the four-time Pro Bowler. Hendrickson is currently set to make $21 million this season in the final year of his contract. Yet, after recording an NFL-high 17.5 sacks, Hendrickson should be able to command at least $30 million per season. He may even creep closer to the $40 million annual salary Myles Garrett is earning from the Cleveland Browns. Is that a price the Eagles are willing to pay? Clemson is one of the biggest college football hype trains rolling into 2025, expert says The Clemson Tigers understandably have a lot of hype heading into the 2025 college football season. After the year quarterback Cade Klubnik had in 2024 (3,639 passing yards, 36 TDs), and a host of other talent returning on both sides of the ball in defensive linemen T.J. Parker and Peter Woods and receivers Antonio Williams, Bryant Wesco and TJ Moore, Clemson is as high as No. 2 in various post-spring top 25 rankings (USA TODAY Sports, ESPN). With 83 days remaining until the Tigers open the season against LSU at Memorial Stadium on Aug. 30, CBS Sports has Clemson on its list of the 12 biggest "hype trains" with the most offseason buzz rolling into 2025. Analyst Carter Bahns said of the Tigers: "Dabo Swinney is nearly seven years removed from his second national championship, but after a long stretch that saw his Clemson program slip from its pedestal, he has a behemoth of a 2025 roster that could get back to the mountaintop. Cade Klubnik might be college football's top quarterback after he improved throughout last season, and his stacked receiving corps will only help him reach the next level as a Heisman contender. Expected improvements on defense with Tom Allen taking over the unit will make the Tigers as well-rounded as anyone." Swinney brought in Allen to run the defense after heading up a Penn State unit that went 11-1 in the regular season and reached the semifinal round of the College Football Playoff in 2024. Allen will be tasked to improve a Clemson defense that, under Wes Goodwin, gave up an average of 374 yards per game (69th nationally). The Tigers went 10-4 last year and defeated SMU, 34-31, in a thrilling ACC Championship Game on a walk-off 56-yard Nolan Hauser field goal as time expired. They made the College Football Playoff for the first time in four years and were ranked No. 11 in the final US LBM Coaches Poll. Clemson's season opener against LSU will be in prime time at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ABC.
