CTV News14-07-2025
Police in Langley, B.C., are investigating after a woman sustained serious burns in what investigators believe was a targeted assault over the weekend.
Officers with the Langley RCMP responded to a report of a woman in distress in the 20300 block of the Fraser Highway at approximately 6:35 p.m. Saturday.
Police found the 33-year-old victim 'suffering from severe burns,' according to a news release from the detachment Monday.
The woman was transported to hospital for urgent treatment of her injuries.
'This does not appear to be a random act,' said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, in the release.
'We believe the victim was deliberately exposed to an unknown substance, resulting in serious burns consistent with an intentional act.'
Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact investigators
Anyone with video from the area at the time of the attack is also asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
