New version of Peace Child musical to premiere in Llangollen
The concert, Uniting Nations: One World, will also include composer and conductor Sir Karl Jenkins.
The revamped Peace Child musical will start the evening and have a climate emergency theme.
It imagines how young people from China, France, Russia, the UK, and the USA might change the UN to create a peaceful, sustainable world.
The story was developed at the Perth and Hay Literary Festivals.
North Wales singer Shea Ferron, winner of the International Voice of Musical Theatre at the 2024 Llangollen International Eisteddfod, will play a key role in the production.
David Woollcombe, president of Peace Child International, said: "This is an audacious undertaking in turbulent times, but for over 40 years, young people have never failed to offer compelling solutions where leaders have faltered.
"I am confident that our talented cast will rise to the challenge and deliver once again in Llangollen.
"I am so thrilled that we shall be bringing young people from Russia, China, the United States, Britain, and France, the P5 as they are known, to perform a new version of Peace Child in the Eisteddfod's Uniting Nations Concert."
After its premiere, Peace Child will go to the Ljubljana Festival in Slovenia on August 23, before ending with a gala performance at the United Nations in New York on October 24, 2025, to mark UN Day.
The second half of the concert features Welsh composer Sir Karl Jenkins conducting his choral work One World, performed by a global choir and orchestra.
This piece calls for peace, justice, and unity.
This concert is expected to be a major highlight of the 2025 Llangollen International Eisteddfod.

The Block host Scott Cam explodes at contestant after she accused the show of staging drama for the cameras
Scott Cam blew up at a contestant during Wednesday's episode of The Block after she accused the show of staging drama for the cameras. Han, one half of the Perth duo with her partner Can, furiously clashed with Foreman Dan during Tuesday's episode, accusing him of 'stitching her up.' Unhappy with her comments, Scott faced off with Han on Wednesday. 'Han, I heard some other people saying that you're accusing us of stitch ups and doing stuff just for camera, which I've told you many many times, we never set you up to fail and we never stitch you up,' he said. 'We help you along the way. You're making decisions that are affecting you. You made those decisions, not us,' he continued. 'We made changes to your laundry and your pantry waste, we let you cut some concrete for one waste but we didn't approve and we won't approve the second one. 'You're not a builder so don't make decisions that are going to affect your build and don't accuse us of stitching you up and doing things for camera because we don't do that.' Scott then demanded: 'I'm going to ask you really nicely to readjust your attitude on the show to the crew and to Dan and to me and everyone around you.' Han was not entertained, exploding as she told her building team: ''I don't give a f**k, honestly!' Later, however, she softened and apologised to Scott. 'I didn't mean to disrespect anyone,' she admitted, before the pair shared a friendly hug. On Tuesday, Han and Dan came to blows over changes to the bathroom, that left a concrete slab sitting in a doorway - and Dan did not approve. Han argued that she'd gotten the go-ahead from the on-site plumber, but Dan insisted that wasn't good enough. 'He's just a plumber, he doesn't design anything,' Dan argued with the frustrated Blockhead. 'You're not cutting any structural slab, no way,' he added. Han admitted she was 'angry and frustrated,' adding, 'From where I'm standing, I've done everything right.' She then blew up at the unsuspecting foreman. 'I'm sorry, but this is absolute horses**t. This is all for the camera, this is absolute bulls**t,' she ranted. 'It's an absolute stitch-up Dan. I'm trying to do my best job and really go by the process,' she continued, raging. 'It's like pick on the good guy, pick on the person that's doing it by the book. And I'm sick of it.' Her words were not enough to change Dan's mind, who continued to insist the team go by the book.

The million-dollar squatters: Couple accused of moving into abandoned $2m Perth home and renovating it - as furious owner fights back
A 'well-off, Christian' couple have been accused of squatting rent-free in a ritzy home worth millions after their bid to buy it was snubbed - but they just moved in anyway. Schoolteacher Jeremy Hubbard and his singer/songwriter wife Rachel Savage reportedly occupied the 107-year-old home in Perth 's Shenton Park two years ago. They told local community newspaper The Post that they had been renting the $2million Keightley Road home from its elderly owner, Marilyn Watson, 81. They had even tastefully renovated the property at their own expense, they said, with Google Street View images charting its fall into disrepair before the couple restored it. But Ms Watson and her nephew Greg Preston have dismissed the couple's claim to be living there lawfully, and said Ms Watson has never even met them. She said there had never been any rental agreement and didn't want them in the house - but the couple had been refusing to leave, despite the owner's requests. 'She hasn't authorised anybody to live there at any time and she certainly would never sign a lease for anybody to live there,' said Mr Preston. He said the home in Perth's wealthy 'golden triangle' had been vacant since 2010 after it was damaged in a hailstorm and his aunt moved to a new home in Mandurah. The elderly owner of this Shenton Park home - seen in 2010 (left), in 2022 after lying empty and abandoned with hail damage for almost 12 years (centre), and in 2024 (right) after the repairs - says the young couple were squatting when they moved in two years ago Mr Preston said he had found a card to his aunt from Ms Savage in 2022, calling the detached home beautiful and asking to purchase it. But he insisted his aunt had not wanted to sell the house and did not want anyone else living there. Ms Savage is a musician who has performed in Nashville and Los Angeles, while Mr Hubbard teaches at Kings College in Perth's southern suburbs. The couple have since deleted their social media accounts following the dispute, and could not be reached by the Daily Mail. Perth media has since filmed removal vans apparently clearing out the property, with Ms Savage and Mr Hubbard seemingly having moved out. Locals have now questioned why the apparent model neighbours invested in renovating a home they apparently had no legal right to occupy. 'I don't agree with squatting but at least give them the option to pay rent, especially considering they have made improvements to the clearly derelict condition it was in,' said one. 'I don't understand why the owner won't rent the property out. To have a perfectly good house sitting empty, and was clearly rotting away, is terrible in a housing crisis.' Another local revealed the couple were from well-off families and enjoyed regular overseas holidays and drove luxury cars. 'This is not a sad case of a poor family with a baby needing a roof over their heads,' they said. 'Their wedding was quite a luxury event. They are both affiliated with large Christian churches and he is a regular golfer. 'This is about taking what's not theirs. That couple have no right to live in this house.' In Western Australia, squatters' rights allow a person to claim legal ownership of land they have occupied without the owner's permission if they have occupied the property for at least 12 years. Jordan van den Lamb, a lawyer who is better known online as PurplePingers for his S*** Rentals website, publicly advocates for squatting in vacant properties. He argues that homes should be lived in rather than kept as financial investments.

The Block drama explodes as two teams are shut down and snub sparks feud between contestants
The Block has officially entered Week Four - and it's already shaping up to be the most dramatic one yet. Foreman Dan was forced to shut down two building sites after contestants failed to follow crucial rules, while tensions reached boiling point as Mat and Alicia hit out at co-stars Han and Can over an 'awkward snub' that left contestants fuming. The episode kicked off in the aftermath of Sunday's Room Reveal, with Sonny and Alicia inviting everyone - except Han and Can - to join them in their caravan for a wholesome team dinner. While the Perth girls were invited, they opted out, choosing instead to do their own thing. 'The others are a little sad about this, feeling like the Perth duo need to slow down and enjoy the process a little more,' the voiceover explained. But things only got worse for the duo the next morning when Han's phone went flat and she slept through her alarm - missing the mandatory pre-start meeting. The Block has officially entered Week Four - and it's already shaping up to be the most dramatic one yet Foreman Dan (pictured) was forced to shut down two building sites after contestants failed to follow crucial rules, while tensions reached boiling point as Mat and Alicia hit out at co-stars Han and Can over an 'awkward snub' that left contestants fuming As punishment, Foreman Dan shut down their site for two hours. Over in House 5, Robby and Mat were scrambling to rein in their budget amid growing concerns they may not be able to afford the extravagant wine cellar planned for their backyard. Foreman Dan voiced his fears that their builders wouldn't get paid, prompting Robby to snap back: 'I haven't got a crystal ball to rub and predict everything.' Dan wasn't amused, responding, 'If Robby and Mat can't pay for this wine cellar, we're just going to stop works midway. How's he going to sell a house like that?' Mat appeared rattled by the exchange and stressed the importance of keeping their finances in check. 'Fair enough, no one wants an empty hole in their yard! Tighten those purses, lads!' From this point forward, Mat took charge of the budget - starting with a group shopping trip with the girls. Foreman Dan was in a far better mood when he visited House 3 and admired Taz's impressive insulation work, calling it 'bloody beautiful.' The episode kicked off in the aftermath of Sunday's Room Reveal, with Sonny and Alicia inviting everyone - except Han and Can (pictured) - to join them in their caravan for a wholesome team dinner They made a bet: if Taz could finish it in three hours, Dan would jump into Daylesford Lake - which is a chilly seven degrees. Taz flew through the job, but Dan was determined to win - delivering snacks, staging musical interludes, and throwing in extra smoko breaks to slow him down. The cheeky sabotage paid off, with Dan declared the winner by 'one tiny sliver of missing insulation.' 'We hope Taz brought a wetsuit,' the voiceover quipped. Winners Han and Can were off enjoying their MG Getaway at Sky High in Daylesford after last week's big win - but their absence didn't go unnoticed. At a team dinner back at HQ, Sonny revealed that former Blockhead Tommy Calleja had phoned him to express disappointment that the girls hadn't even called him following their win - despite him stepping in to help while Han was unwell. 'The other teams are pretty outraged by this,' the voiceover said. 'That doesn't fly well with me,' Mat said bluntly, labelling the move 'poor taste'. Over in House 5, Robby and Mat (pictured) were scrambling to rein in their budget amid growing concerns they may not be able to afford the extravagant wine cellar planned for their backyard The drama didn't stop there. Emma and Ben were the next to feel Dan's wrath after accidentally sleeping in and missing pre-start. Dan handed down another two-hour site shutdown - their second of the week. But there was a silver lining: the pair were awarded $5,000 for impressing on-site baristas Tina and Shayla with their standout feature - a curved shower wall. With budgets spiralling, feuds flaring and multiple site shutdowns already on the board, it's clear Week Four of The Block is going to be anything but smooth sailing.
