DAVENPORT, Fla. - Three Osceola High School students are recovering following a shooting in Davenport, according to school officials.
The principal with Osceola High School released a statement on Facebook regarding a "tragic" incident involving Osceola HS students over the weekend.
The post read:
"Principal Kennedy here.
You may have become aware of a tragic incident that happened involving three of our students over the weekend.
First and foremost, our hearts and thoughts are with the students and families involved. I am extremely thankful that all three students survived.
Second, I want to assure you that we will have additional counseling personnel on campus tomorrow to support any student who needs to talk with someone. We have very limited details and can not release any information at this time.
We will, however, provide the utmost care for our students as we come together to process the impact on our Kowboy family.
Any student who would like to talk to someone on the counseling team tomorrow morning is encouraged to let an administrator know as they arrive on campus. If, at any time, in the morning a student would like to talk to someone, they should tell their teacher and make their way to the media center.
We are mindful that tomorrow begins both state and Advanced Placement testing, so please reach out to administration if your student has been affected by the events that took place so we can seek to make arrangements to ensure they are also supported academically by our team.
As we lean on each other, I want our students to know that they are not alone—our Kowboy family stands united in compassion and strength. Together, we will find hope, healing, and the resilience to move forward."
A spokesperson with Osceola County Schools confirmed the incident was connected to a shooting in Davenport.
It is not clear if this shooting is connected to an early morning shooting that took place around 3:30 a.m. Sunday on Famagusta Drive. Officials with the Polk County Sheriff's Office said the victims in that shooting sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Counseling will be made available at the school on Monday, according to the post.

County law enforcement association responds to protests against ICE raids
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Law enforcement leaders in San Diego County issued a statement on Tuesday as civil unrest continues in Los Angeles and other cities, stemming from immigration-related raids conducted by federal agents. Protesters have clashed with federal agents and law enforcement for the fifth straight day in L.A., influencing a movement in other major cities such as Chicago, Dallas and New York. Raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have happened locally as well, including on May 30 at Buona Forchetta and its sister restaurant in South Park. (Above: Immigration enforcement operation at Buona Forchetta in San Diego's South Park neighborhood on May 30, 2025) Chula Vista Police Chief Roxana Kennedy, in her position as president of the San Diego County Chiefs and Sheriff's Association, issued a statement about the raids and protests on behalf of the organization, which is comprised of other city police chiefs and law enforcement personnel across the county. The statement said the association is aware of the immigration-related enforcement operations happening across the region and the nation, and it continued to say the departments are committed to 'uphold(ing) justice, preserv(ing) peace and protect(ing) the rights' of the community. Dozens of people have been arrested in L.A. during the protests. Meanwhile, hundreds of Marines and thousands of National Guard members were deployed under the direction of President Donald Trump, including troops based in San Diego. National Guard troops directed to LA ICE protests from San Diego: Bonta 'We understand that recent federal immigration actions have prompted strong emotions and public concern,' Chief Kennedy said in her statement. 'While we support the public's right to free speech and lawful protest, we urge that these expressions remain peaceful,' she added. Local agencies in California, including those represented under the association, do not enforce federal immigration law or question people about their immigration status in accordance with Senate Bill 54, the statement said. Kennedy's statement also went on to say assaults on law enforcement or acts such as looting, vandalism or arson 'will not be tolerated.' 'Should federal authorities request our assistance due to safety concerns, local law enforcement will respond as necessary to ensure the protection of all involved—officers, agents, and members of the public alike,' the statement read. 'This support is strictly for safety and security purposes and does not reflect participation in immigration enforcement.' Other agencies that are part of the San Diego County Chiefs and Sheriff's Association include California Highway Patrol, city police departments, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and others. Louisiana senators push FEMA to halt Risk Rating 2.0 program
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Sens. Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy ask the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to stop the Risk Rating 2.0 program. According to FEMA, Risk Rating 2.0 was created under the Biden administration as a new approach to flood risk assessment through new data. The system checks factors such as flood frequency, flood types, and proximity to flood sources. Cassidy, Kennedy, and other Republicans are asking that the program end due to the increase in premiums under the National Flood Insurance Program. 'Since the Biden Administration's rollout of Risk Rating 2.0, premiums under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) increased in every state. By FEMA's own estimates, 77 percent of all NFIP policies now pay more than under the old system,' the senators wrote. The letter states that Louisiana saw a 234% increase in premiums in 2023, forcing over 52,000 residents out of the program. Other states impacted include Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, and West Virginia. 'Each month that Risk Rating 2.0 continues unchecked, more families are forced to abandon their insurance coverage, neighborhoods face economic strain, and entire communities risk collapse after the next disaster,' the lawmakers added. In March 2025, Cassidy and Kennedy introduced legislation to extend the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) through Dec. 31, 2026, which would give homeowners long-term stability.
