Iranian President meets Iranian community in Muscat
Muscat: President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian of the Islamic Republic of Iran met at Al Bustan Hotel on Wednesday with the Iranian community residing in the Sultanate of Oman.
The meeting took place within the context of the Iranian President's current official visit to Oman.
During the meeting, President Pezeshkian underlined their role in fostering direct people-to-people ties between the two nations and strengthening civilizational relations between the two countries.

Oman Tender Board mandates Omanisation compliance for contracts
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman's Tender Board has issued Circular No. 2025/2, directing all the ministries and government units under the Tender Law to stop awarding contracts to private sector companies that do not meet the approved Omanisation rates. The General Secretariat of the Tender Board would like to inform all entities subject to the provisions of the Tender Law to take action regarding the complete non-contracting of private sector companies that do not comply with the Omanisation rates approved by the government, by doing the following: 1. Include the clause related to compliance with Omanisation requirements and the employment of the national workforce, according to the attached format, in the tender documents before the tender is issued. 2. Verify that companies meet Omanisation requirements through the data available in the electronic tendering system (Esnad), based on direct connection with the Ministry of Labor, before awarding the tender. 3. Compliance with Omanisation provisions for international companies and institutions not registered in the Sultanate of Oman will be monitored when participating in international tenders after the award and during contract implementation, as part of the local content plan.

Oman triumphs at Diplomatic Club's Tennis Tournament
Muscat: Team Oman emerged victorious in a thrilling finale against Team India at the International Tennis Team Championship 2025, hosted at the Diplomatic Club's tennis courts. The high-energy tournament was organized by the Diplomatic Club of Muscat, drawing 15 teams and around 55 players representing over 15 nationalities. In the championship match, Oman's Abdul Malik Al-Oufi defeated India's Hassan Haider 9/4 in the opening singles. India responded with a 9/5 win in doubles, with Hassan and Sivan Govind overcoming Abdullah Al-Yahuaey and Muneer Al-Rawahi. The deciding singles saw Muneer Al-Rawahi dominate Vikram Gokhale 9/0, securing a 2-1 victory for Oman. Participating teams included four from Oman, two from India, and others from Italy, the UK, Indonesia, Lebanon, the Netherlands, the Commonwealth, and three teams from the Rest of the World. The tournament featured a round-robin format across four groups, followed by semi-finals and a grand finale. Each team clash consisted of three pro-set matches: singles, doubles, and a second singles match. The event was honored by the presence of: • H.E.
