Road raging driver tries to run man down after crash on Brooklyn expressway
A driver who rear-ended another car on a Brooklyn expressway went into a road-rage frenzy when the victim tried to take a photo, attempting to run him over before speeding off with the victim clinging to the hood, police said Tuesday.
The chaos unfolded on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway near the Tillary St. exit just after 1:40 p.m. Sunday, when Jacob Angstadt, 27, behind the wheel of a Toyota Matrix, slammed into the back of a 34-year-old man's car, cops said.
When the victim got out to take a photo of the driver, Angstadt became enraged, hit the gas pedal and sped toward him, police said.
Desperate to avoid being mowed down, the victim leapt onto the hood and clung on for nearly 330 feet until he was thrown from the car and onto the pavement.
He landed on the roadway, suffering serious injuries to his hands, arms and body as Angstadt sped away, according to cops.
Medics took the victim to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
Police on Tuesday identified Angstadt as the driver and released his photo in the hope the public could assist in locating him.

Armed crooks posing as Amazon deliverymen tie up, rob Queens family
Two armed crooks posing as Amazon deliverymen raided a Queens home, terrorizing a family of five including two small children, police said Tuesday. Cops from the 109th Precinct released surveillance images of the two suspects and asked the public's help identifying them and tracking them down. One of the robbers was wearing a yellow reflective vest when the pair approached the single-family home on 152nd St. and 12th Ave. in Whitestone about 6:30 a.m. Monday. The second man was carrying a large Amazon box. The two barged into the home, pulled guns and ordered the family — a 43-year-old father, 39-year-old mom, 18-year-old daughter, 10-year-old boy and 5-year-old girl — into the basement where they were zip-tied and had their mouths sealed with duct tape. The two crooks then went through the home, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry. They fled in the victims' Chrysler, which was later found abandoned four blocks away from the victims' home, cops said. The family was not hurt. A few minutes after the robbers left, the father was able to free himself and ran outside for help, neighbors said. 'I just see this man come running out of his house with duct tape on him,' one neighbor told CBS News New York. 'He was definitely disheveled. He was definitely scared and he probably didn't know what just happened himself.' Neighbors were stunned by the brazen robbery, which happened across the street from a local public school. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Couple wanted for questioning by NYPD in fatal Bronx stabbing
Cops want to question a man and a woman they believe have pivotal information about the fatal stabbing of a 39-year-old man outside a historic former Bronx NYPD stationhouse earlier this month, officials said Tuesday. Cops released surveillance footage of the couple in the hopes that someone recognizes them. They want to quiz the pair as they continue to look for the man who fatally stabbed Shamel Parnell in the neck and chest on Bathgate Ave. near E. Tremont Ave. about 12:20 a.m. on June 2. Police last week released a surveillance image of the suspected stabber, who fled the scene in a cab. Parnell got into an argument with his killer before being stabbed. Medics rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died about 25 minutes later, officials said. The stabber fled in a dark-colored cab last seen heading west on E. 179th St., police said. Cops recovered a knife at the scene. The victim's mother, Sherri Parnell, 61, hadn't seen her son for more than a decade when he was killed. 'When the officers came yesterday, they showed me a picture and it was him,' she said after the slaying. 'I haven't seen him in some years, many years really. Approximately 12 years. But that's still my son. 'He stayed with me a little when I lived in another part of the Bronx but he'd always be going out, coming in,' she added. 'I didn't know what he was doing.' The building Parnell was stabbed in front of housed the NYPD's 48th Precinct for decades but is now home to a Head Start program. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 for its notable architecture. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
