Tesonet invests in Lithuanian SportsTech startup FPRO
A made-in-Lithuania solution for the global football market
FPRO is a SportsTech startup that is developing innovative football training solutions for children. Working in collaboration with UEFA-certified coaches and experts in sports science, FPRO has devised a unique interactive app for children ages 6 through 12. The app is designed to improve their technique, coordination and ball control skills.
Having founded the Football Pro Academy back in 2018, founders Ernestas Pilypas, Darius Jankauskas, and Vilius Petkevičius were forced to move operations online during the pandemic. This was the impetus behind the development of their digital product, which was released in 2022. The platform's user base currently consists of 140,000+ children from the UK, Germany, the US, and other countries. Most of the company's revenue comes from sales outside of their home market.
'Football is the most popular sport in the world, but the market is currently short on qualified coaches. We wanted to create a solution that would be accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial means or location. FPRO fills this gap by offering young athletes an accessible, tech-driven method geared towards raising their physical fitness and developing their personalities in a comprehensive way. It helps to build their self-confidence, discipline, and passion for football through a focused and personalised coaching process. We see Tesonet's investment as confirmation that we're on the right track,' said Vilius Petkevičius, co-founder of FPRO.
Ambitious partnership for innovation in children's sports
'The sports technology market has enormous potential, and football unites billions of people worldwide. Given our substantial experience with SportsTech, the latest investment reflects our strategy to expand the sports innovation ecosystem while strengthening the community both in Lithuania and globally. This is a profitable and growing startup with a broad user base, an unstoppable team, and founders who are experts in their field. It's a perfect combination, and one that mirrors our own values,' commented Tomas Okmanas, co-founder of Tesonet.
Tesonet co-founder Eimantas Sabaliauskas added: 'When making a decision to invest, we consider not only market potential, but also a given team's vision and ability to solve real problems on a global scale. FPRO has created a strong product, and our goal as investors is to help them not just financially but also in terms of strategy. We see clear synergies where our contribution could help them optimise business processes, develop new revenue streams, expand their user base, and further accelerate growth internationally.'
Another SportsTech investment in Tesonet's portfolio
This is not our first venture in the sports vertical. In 2022, we acquired shares in BC Žalgiris Kaunas, helping the basketball club with its digital transformation and commercial expansion. Then in 2024, we invested in basketball club BC London Lions, aiming to promote the development of young talent and bolster the club's competitiveness internationally.

This Anker 3-in-1 wireless charging station is 30 percent off right now
Anker makes some of our favorite charging gear, and now you can save on a bunch of wireless power accessories from the brand. Whether you're going back to school soon or want a new charging station that can power up a few devices at once, there are discounts here worth considering. One of the best is this 3-in-1 MagSafe charging station, on sale for a record low price of $63. The Qi2-certified charger wirelessly charges your compatible iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods on one compact and convenient dock. Qi2 boasts 15W of power, so you can take advantage of fast charging on compatible devices. This means the station can charge an iPhone 16 Pro Max to 20 percent in just 20 minutes and an Apple Watch Series 10 from zero to 100 percent in just over an hour. The magnetic stand for your iPhone is adjustable with 45 degrees of vertical rotation and 360 degrees of horizontal rotation, so you can always find the perfect angle for your phone while charging. Being able to wirelessly charge these three daily devices at once might remind you of Apple's wireless charging pad that never was, but Anker's 3-in-1 charging station offers an elegant solution. We tend to like Anker's charging products, and we've found they make some of the best charging stations on the market. Anker's products can be a bit pricey, though, which is why the best time to pick them up is during these sales. The company actually has a slew of its charging products on sale right now. Its 3-in-1 wireless charging cube is 31 percent off right now, and its foldable 3-in-1 travel wireless charger is 22 percent off. If your iPhone is Qi2 compatible, then you might also look at Anker's simple Qi2 charging pad, which is 35 percent off for a two-pack right now. How CAS ruling will affect Crystal Palace in the transfer window
Crystal Palace's hopes of competing in the Europa League this season are over, and the news could have a seismic impact on the club. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) turned down their appeal against UEFA's decision to demote them to the Europa Conference League (BBC). The decision has several implications for Palace. Not only will Nottingham Forest now take their place in the Europa League, but the Eagles may have to draw up a new plan on how to navigate the transfer window. Palace qualified for the Europa League after beating Manchester City to win the FA Cup last season. However, UEFA's multi-club rules forbid clubs under the same ownership from competing in the same tournament. Former shareholder John Textor had a stake in both Palace and Olympique Lyon, who finished sixth in Ligue 1 to qualify for Europe. Textor eventually sold his Palace shares in a desperate attempt to keep them in the Europa League, but the deadline to prove compliance expired back in March. The club took it up with CAS, but they made it clear that the Eagles breached the rules and failed to make the necessary adjustments in time. How the ruling affects Palace's transfer strategy Dropping down to the Europa Conference League is undeniably a massive blow to Palace. On the plus side, they have a better chance at winning the trophy. But the implications go far beyond their chances. The competition is far less prestigious and financially rewarding than the Europa League. The demotion could cost Palace around £20 million in lost revenue. That could have made a world of difference for the Eagles in the transfer market. Without Europa League football, Palace may struggle to attract their key targets as they now have less bargaining power to fend off competition. The verdict also couldn't have come at a worse time for the club. The Eagles are fighting to keep their star players at Selhurst Park, with Eberechi Eze and captain Marc Guehi drawing interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, respectively. There was never any guarantee that the promise of Europa League football would be enough to convince them to stay. Playing in the Europa Conference League holds no weight, considering that a move guarantees them Champions League football.
