NASCAR In-Season Challenge bracket: Drivers, seedings, matchups, races, dates
The In-Season Challenge, which will run for five weeks, is actually a series of individual races within five larger races. The drivers will not only be competing to win the weekly race as they normally would, but they will also be facing off in head-to-head matchups with the goal of finishing better than their opponent in the race and advancing to the next round.
The drivers were seeded based on their finishes at three previous races – at Michigan, Mexico City and Pocono – with the bracket placing the top two seeds on opposite halves of the draw. That means if the tournament holds to form, the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds would not meet up until the final, presuming they both advanced through each round.
The winner of the inaugural In-Season Challenge will take home $1 million.
The first round begins Saturday, June 28 at Echo Park Speedway (formerly Atlanta Motor Speedway) and features 16 head-to-head matchups among the 32 drivers. Beat your head-to-head opponent and you advance to the second round. Sixteen drivers will be eliminated after the first round.
Does that sound complicated? If so, we have you covered with the list of seeds, how the rounds work, every first-round matchup and where and when each of the five In-Season Challenge races will take place.

NASCAR Veteran Believes Only a 'Conspiracy' Can Beat Shane van Gisbergen
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. NASCAR Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin has stated that only a "conspiracy" can end Shane van Gisbergen's dominance on road and street courses. The statement arrives after van Gisbergen's recent victory at Watkins Glen International. The 36-year-old driver has proven that his performance remains unmatched, as he secured four consecutive race wins in his rookie Cup year, joining Chase Elliott and NASCAR Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon as the only drivers who won four road or street courses in a row. His win at Watkins Glen backs his recent multi-year contract extension with his team, Trackhouse Racing. Given his winning spree, Hamlin noted that van Gisbergen has only failed to win a race when he was taken out by another car as a result of an error. He jokingly stated on his Actions Detrimental podcast that only a conspiracy can prevent van Gisbergen from winning. He said: "There's going to be a race that something happens that's gonna take him out. Like, he got taken out of Chicago. Remember, in the wet somebody made a mistake. Shane Van Gisbergen, driver of the #88 WeatherTech Chevrolet, celebrates after winning the NASCAR Cup Series Go Bowling at The Glen at Watkins Glen International on August 10, 2025 in Watkins Glen, New York Shane Van Gisbergen, driver of the #88 WeatherTech Chevrolet, celebrates after winning the NASCAR Cup Series Go Bowling at The Glen at Watkins Glen International on August 10, 2025 in Watkins Glen, New York"Like, he definitely is able to be vulnerable to someone else making a mistake. He's not going to make it on his own. It's going to be into Turn 1. Somebody ping-pongs into someone else, and it knocks him into Shane after he just pitted. Like, that's what we need. We need a conspiracy." Hamlin also took aim at NASCAR in the podcast for making "horrible" business decisions that reportedly backfired, such as reducing the horsepower on the Next Gen car, which has allegedly made overtaking more difficult. He said: "I think that we have a fundamental car problem. It is no doubt a problem. Everyone that has ever driven it has said it's a problem. I believe that the Next Gen car is reaching hate levels of the COT (Car of Tomorrow) with the wing. From fans — I think they're starting to dislike this car as much as the drivers that have to drive it. "We've just steadily progressed our way back and back and back and back and taken horsepower away more and more and more. These are 10th floor decisions and let's just say us drivers are on the third floor. No business is immune to bad decisions. I think that the NASCAR business has made some horrible decisions over the last given amount of time and eventually, it catches up." Hamlin added that NASCAR is going to have to pay for those bad decisions. He said: "You can't just say, 'This is the direction I wanna go.' 'Well, why?' 'Well, this is the direction I wanna go,' and not eventually have to pay for that. You're going to have to pay for your bad decisions at some point. And this could be said for lots of things that have happened in those offices. We'll just see how it goes."

PSG Beats Tottenham on Penalties To Win UEFA Super Cup After Late Comeback
UEFA Super Cup PSG Beats Tottenham on Penalties To Win UEFA Super Cup After Late Comeback Updated Aug. 13, 2025 5:54 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link Paris Saint-Germain beat Tottenham 4-3 on penalties to win the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, completing a remarkable rally after scoring two late goals to take the match to a shootout. It secured a fifth trophy of 2025 for the French club. Lee Kang-in scored in the 85th for PSG and fellow substitute Gonçalo Ramos grabbed an equalizer in the fourth minute of stoppage time to make it 2-2 in regulation. Nuno Mendes converted the clinching penalty in the shootout for PSG. The Super Cup is an annual early-season match between the most recent winners of the Champions League (PSG) and Europa League (Tottenham), and it was hardly going to script when the English club took a 2-0 lead early in the second half. Defenders popped up with Spurs' goals, with Micky van de Ven showing quick reactions to prod home the opener in the 39th minute after new PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier tipped Joao Palhinha's shot onto the crossbar. Chevalier — playing ahead of Gianluigi Donnarumma, who announced Tuesday he was leaving PSG — might have been unlucky with the first goal but was to blame for the second after failing to keep out a header from newly appointed Tottenham captain Cristian Romero in the 48th. ADVERTISEMENT Tottenham is further along in its preparations for the new campaign than PSG, whose players have only just returned to training after being involved in the Club World Cup until mid-July, and looked much sharper at Stadio Friuli. PSG finished strongly, though, and hit Tottenham with late goals as Lee smashed in a low shot from the edge of the area and Ramos headed home Ousmane Dembélé's right-wing cross. In the shootout, Vitinha missed PSG's first attempt, but the French team then converted four in a row. Van de Ven and Mathys Tel failed to score for Tottenham, whose manager, Thomas Frank, was taking charge of his first competitive match with the Premier League team. Frank took over in the offseason following the firing of Ange Postecoglou, who led Tottenham to its first trophy in 17 years with a victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final in May. PSG completed the Champions League-Ligue 1-Coupe de France treble last season, also winning the Trophee des Champions in January. The team lost the Club World Cup final to Chelsea.
