Look: Marshawn Lynch shows up to Pete Carroll's first Raiders press conference

Pete Carroll is starting a new chapter in his coaching career as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, and right there to support him on Day 1 was one of his former players: the beloved Marshawn Lynch.
Lynch attended Carroll's introductory press conference with the Raiders on Monday, watching his former head coach take on his new role in Las Vegas. Carroll and Lynch have a great relationship so it's hardly surprising to see Beastmode in attendance, but it's still cool, nonetheless.
Below is a quick shot of Lynch at the press conference, standing in the back with Maxx Crosby and others.

During his career, Lynch played seven years with the Seahawks and two with the Raiders, peaking during his time in Seattle when Carroll was the head coach. He made four straight Pro Bowls with the Seahawks, winning one Super Bowl and reaching another where Seattle lost to the Patriots.

Former Cowboys HC shows up at Commanders' first day of minicamp

Former Cowboys HC shows up at Commanders' first day of minicamp Mini-camp, Day 1. That's Jason Garrett in blue. — Ben Standig (@BenStandig) June 10, 2025 The Cowboys weren't the only NFC East team to kick off their minicamp on Tuesday. The division rival Commanders also opened up the mandatory portion of their offseason program, and they hosted a very familiar face as one of their Day 1 guests. Former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett was in attendance in Ashburn, Va., at the invitation of current Washington head coach Dan Quinn. It's the second straight year that Quinn has welcomed Garrett to town during minicamp, according to Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports. Quinn "gets the benefit of veteran coaching perspective to check his blind spots," she noted on X, "Garrett gets perspective for his NBC broadcasts. Win-win." Garrett is now over five years removed from his tenure as Cowboys coach, having posted a 87-70 mark in the regular season and playoffs combined in nine-plus seasons in Dallas. He had also been the team's offensive coordinator for four years and played quarterback in the silver and blue for eight more. Yes, his visit with Quinn on Tuesday was much more in keeping with his current job as an NBC analyst, but it still must have been strange for Commanders players to look over during their practice and see the longtime enemy standing there wearing Cowboys colors. Most Washington players, anyway. A few will remember him from their own time in Dallas; Garrett coached Commanders wide receivers Noah Brown and Michael Gallup for multiple seasons, as well as defensive end Dorance Armstrong. And Garrett was a Cowboys teammate of Washington's current linebackers coach, Ken Norton, Jr., for the 1993 season that ended with both men earning a Super Bowl ring. Recent grad has life-changing $270,000 bet riding on Oilers, Thunder championships

New York sports bettor Drew Hirschman graduated college last month, but that hasn't been on his mind over the past few weeks. Hirschman bet $13 last year on a long-shot five-leg parlay that is now very close to cashing in for more than $270,000. The 24-year-old already hit on the Dodgers to win the World Series (+300), Liberty to win the WNBA Finals (+190) and Eagles to win the Super Bowl (+1700). His two remaining legs are the Thunder to win the NBA Finals (+850) and Oilers to win the Stanley Cup (+850), putting him six wins away — three from each — from a $270,761.40 payday. 3 Meet Drew Hirschman, the college graduate who has a chance at $270k if the Oilers and Thunder win titles. NY Post But now comes the hard part for Hirschman, who received his computer engineering degree from Binghamton University in May: solving the complicated math problem of finding the right way to cash in. 'He's been fielding some offers and also looking at hedge opportunities,' Wager Wire CEO Travis Greiger told The Post. Hirschman said he's not a 'huge' bettor and described this chain of events as 'pure luck.' 'I got home from work and I saw Saquon [Barkley] went to the Eagles and I'm a Giants fan and I was like, 'This guy is too talented, this team is too good, I can't imagine they don't go on a deep run.' So, I did some crafting and came up with this,' Hirschman told The Post. 'I am currently unemployed, looking for jobs. Living with my parents in Suffern (N.Y.). This gives me a little gap where I don't have to feel too pressured.' 3 The Oilers are in a 2-1 hole. AP Hirschman has hedged a bit at Caesars Sportsbook with the help of his father — a 'math guy' who has been financing his hedge combinations. He said he's hedged more than $50,000, which leaves his ceiling just shy of $210,000. 'I definitely emptied my bank accounts,' Hirschman said. 'I'm very lucky to have a good support system. My dad is an actuary, he's a math guy, he knows what he's doing here. We put together (a plan) that) we thought is secure that will give us a good outcome. He's definitely been very helpful with the funds here as well. I'm not going to sit here and pretend I have over $50 grand to splash.' 3 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is trying to lead the Thunder to a title. AP If he wins, the new college graduate has a clear goal of 'don't blow it.' 'Going to max out the 401K, max out the Roth. Add to the emergency fund. Going to have a little fun. Maybe a little vacation. Bring the boys out to dinner. Bring my family out to dinner,' Hirschman said. 'I actually planned a little Vegas trip but not going to get too crazy. I also think property is a cool way to do it.' Hirschman has been offered between $105,000-$115,000 for the ticket, although he's rejected those opportunities to date. He received an intriguing $135,000 offer for the ticket which was nearly the exact value, according to WagerWire's true value calculator, but that offer was pulled before a deal could be pursued. His cash out value was more than $80,000 at DraftKings prior to the Oilers' 6-1 Game 3 loss to the Panthers. Hirschman was flown out by Bleacher Report (@Br_Betting on X) to produce content for the game on social media. 'I feel like a mini-celebrity right now, which is pretty cool,' Hirschman said. 'I'm in the works of getting to Edmonton for Game 5 and going to do a little North American tour.' Betting on the NBA? The Oilers' Game 3 loss, which put them in a 2-1 series deficit, was a tough pill to swallow for both this bettor and the team. Edmonton dropped from -105 to +205 odds to win the Stanley Cup after getting smashed, while the Thunder are massive -525 NBA Finals favorite entering Wednesday's Game 3 with that series even at a game apiece. Hirschman is still a winner here regardless of the series' winners thanks to some math work, but he is still willing to sell the ticket. With the Game 3 loss, the ticket is worth $72,203 according to the true value calculator. Jarrian Jones, the Jaguars player Saquon Barkley hurdled, reacts to 'Madden 26' cover: 'I don't give a damn'

When you're on the wrong end of a legendary sports play, it can be hard to shake that reputation. Leon Lett is remembered for his Super Bowl fumble, Earnest Byner is known for causing "The Drive," and Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones will be immortalized for being the victim of Saquon Barkley's backward hurdle. Jones isn't a household name on the same level as Lett or Byner just yet, but it could just be a matter of time after that play was featured on the "Madden 26" cover. The video game cover art features Barkley hurdling a defender in a clear homage to that play. It's not an actual photo of the play, so Jones isn't featured on the cover, but it's a constant reminder of one of his most embarrassing moments on an NFL field. Advertisement That's not how Jones views it, though. Jones was asked about the "Madden 26" cover during minicamp Tuesday and gave a refreshing answer. Jones opted to praise Barkley for making an awesome play. Jones added he would happily be featured on the cover if it meant he got some money from EA Sports. Video contains some NSFW language. "I seen it and I was like 'damn, they didn't put my number on there?'" Jones continued, "The play was fire, to me. Everybody DM'd me like I was going to be mad or something. I don't give a damn. He made a good play. It is what it is." That's a good perspective from Jones, who is aiming to improve after a solid rookie season in 2024. Jones, a third round pick by the Jaguars in the 2024 NFL Draft, racked up 40 combined tackles, two sacks and an interception as a rookie. Bigger things are expected from Jones this season. After starting four games as a rookie, Jones could see a much bigger workload in Year 2. While he might never fully shake being the player Barkley hurdled, he has plenty of opportunities to post excellent highlights of his own if he can keep building on an encouraging rookie season.
