Limestone-Athens Robotics team qualifies for world championship, but needs help making it there
ATHENS, Ala (WHNT) — To many, robotics can be detail overload or confusing, but to the students of Team 34, it's a passion.
Logan Rilling is one of the 27 Limestone County and Athens City students who make up Team 34.

'My favorite part of robotics is getting to test and watching the results of my hard work show,' Rilling said. 'Like, most people say it's about the journey, not the destination…for me, it's about the destination, not the journey. I work hard and I like to see the fruits of that labor, and doing that gives me passion.
After receiving the Engineering Inspiration Award at the Rocket City Regional in Huntsville, they qualified for a big milestone.
'We also qualified for the world championship in Houston, Texas,' Team 34 Sponsor Monica Hobson said.
As part of the competition, the team has to design and build a robot that can complete certain specified tasks in just six weeks.

Although, getting the team and their bot to Texas isn't cheap.
'We need funding for our travel,' she said. 'The competition is in Houston, and bus and hotel costs are very expensive.'
Registration alone is over $5,000. That's why they can use some help.
'We have a GoFundMe set up on our website, which is team34rockets.com.'
You can also help by supporting their various fundraisers throughout the next few weeks. One of those is a Boston butt pork sale.
They say that every little bit of support works like a gear, helping keep the team moving, and hopefully propel them to victory.
If you would like to donate to the team directly, they have a GoFundMe as well.
