Wanted Upstate man arrested in Gainesville for fatal hit-and-run: OCSO
OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Deputies announced that a Westminster man who was wanted for a fatal hit-and-run in Oconee County, was found and arrested on Thursday, in Gainesville, Georgia.
According to the Oconee County Sheriff's Office, 43-year-old William Barney Drummond was arrested by the Gainesville Police Department and had changed his appearance. A gun was also discovered on Drummond when police searched him, deputies said.
Drummond was charged by deputies this week with the death of Devon James Turner, 34.
According to deputies, Drummond was operating a black, 2016 Chevrolet Silverado when he struck Turner on S. Highway 11 near E. Spearman Road, on Monday.
