Astro Bot is getting five new (and free) levels this July
Team Asobi is releasing five new levels for Astro Bot , and you can get all of them for free. The developer has announced that the brand new levels will drop on July 10 at 9AM Eastern time. Like the speedrun levels and the previous levels the developer released at no cost, the new ones will be part of the Vicious Void Galaxy. Four of the new levels are called Twin-Frog Trouble, Suck It Up, Handhold Havoc and High Inflation, but Team Asobi is keeping the last one a secret. Each one will come with its own Special Bot, including a "revengeful newcomer." The developer also hinted that finishing all five levels will lead to "something really cool."
Astro Bot is a 3D platformer, wherein you control a small robot named Astro across levels set in different galaxies and planets. It features unique and creative uses of the DualSense controller, such as having to hold down the analog triggers and physically tilting the device in order to move Astro's spaceship. Team Asobi has released several free levels before these new ones since the game launched in late 2024, and so far, Astro Bot has over 90 levels that you can play.
In addition to announcing the freebies at PlayStation State of Play, Team Asobi has also revealed that it's launching an updated version of the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller later this year. The developer promised more details in the future, but for now, you can see that the controller will come with Astro's smiling eyes on its touchpad.

X users were glued to the Musk v. Trump blowup. Could this be good for the platform?
Related : Advertisement 'X operates as a personality-driven platform, and Musk's high-profile conflicts can fuel engagement at least in the short term,' said Sarah Kreps, director of Cornell University's Tech Policy Institute. 'The platform has leaned into spectacle as a growth strategy, and controversy often drives traffic.' Get Starting Point A guide through the most important stories of the morning, delivered Monday through Friday. Enter Email Sign Up President Donald Trump, of course, posted through the breakup on his own personal platform, Truth Social with three updates targeting Musk directly on Thursday. But Truth Social's audience is just a fraction of X's, and social media experts at this stage don't see it siphoning the former Twitter's user base as a result of the feud. Trump was banned from Twitter in 2021 following the Jan. 6 riots on the Capitol and he returned more than 2.5 years later after Musk reinstated his account. On X, he has nearly 106 million followers — compared with less than 10 million on Truth Social, where he's continued to post following the feud — at least 10 times on Friday. Advertisement 'It's a niche platform with limited reach outside Trump's core base,' Kreps said. 'That said, if Trump were to fully re-engage there and disengage from X entirely, it could fragment the right-wing audience somewhat. But barring major user migration, X still dominates in political discourse.' Trump hasn't indicated that he'd leave X — and Musk hasn't said he'd consider banning him — but the president has not posted on the site since June 3, although the official White House account has continued to send updates. According to Mobile app analytics firm Sensor Tower, X and Truth Social both saw mobile app usage skyrocket on Thursday as the Musk-Trump blowup played out on the two men's respective social platforms. U.S. mobile app active users on X between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern were up 54%, while Truth Social saw a fivefold increase. Overall, Sensor Tower estimates that X's audience is about 100 times larger than Truth Social's. On BlueSky, meanwhile, many users seemed to delight in watching the drama unfold on the platform they (mostly) left behind, posting screenshots from X, Truth Social as well as their own share of memes and commentary. But the site, which has welcomed users disillusioned with Musk's politics and policies on X, is unlikely to become a huge draw for Trump die-hards. 'It's too early to measure any long-term shifts in user behavior, but political audiences on X have tended to be resilient, even in the face of controversy,' Kreps said. 'Trump supporters are unlikely to abandon the platform en masse unless there's sustained antagonism or a perceived shift in content moderation policy. Right now, this looks more like a personality clash than an ideological break so user migration feels speculative at this stage.' Advertisement As for X's advertising business, Emarketer analyst Jasmine Enberg said she doubts the feud will have a material effect. 'Advertisers who were spending small sums on the platform due to Musk's proximity to Trump may rethink their commitments,' she said. 'At the same time, the breakup between Musk and Trump hasn't eliminated the threat of legal or business repercussions given the FTC investigation into the alleged ad boycott, so there's still incentive for those brands to stay.' According to The New York Times, which cited unnamed sources, the Federal Trade Commission is investigating whether roughly a dozen advertising and advocacy groups violated antitrust law by coordinating boycotts among advertisers that didn't want their brands to appear next to hateful or other objectionable content. In the end, Musk 'remains a divisive figure, regardless of his position in the White House,' Enberg said, and any efforts by X to make the platform less divisive — such as a recent program designed to elevate content that people agree on —'can only go so far with brands and consumers if he continues to use X as his own personal megaphone to amplify controversial content.'

The Week in AI: Mary Meeker Drops 340 Slides on the Revolution
Today's article and video will focus on just one-fifth of what you'll get in our new X Space around noon Eastern every Friday. I'll share that link further rapid-fire show, co-hosted by my colleague Ethan Feller, is where we each give you our Top Six events, reveals, and innovations of the AI revolution -- from just the past few days! That's how fast things are moving right Meeker's Monster Slide DeckThe bulk of the video that accompanies this article goes over a dozen graphs and datapoints produced by the infamous Bond Capital research team in their annual Trends report.I rely primarily on a great X thread by Jason Lemkin, founder of SaaStr, which summarizes his "Top 10 Points for B2B and enterprise founders." He can be found on X @jasonlk and SaaStr is the world's largest community of SaaS (software as a service) executives, founders, and wrote "Mary Meeker has been doing extremely well researched, deep analyses of internet trends since the earliest days the web took off. First at Morgan Stanley, then at Kleiner Perkins, and since then, at her own growth VC fund, Bond Capital."In the video, I run through Jason's top 10 picks and I also highlight another excellent thread by a VC at Menlo Ventures, who goes by Deedy @deedydas on pulls out 20 graphs and datapoints from the Meeker/Bond report and the bottom line is that these two guys make it easy: they read the report we probably never would have and give us useful intel from it at our Week in AI is Live on X, But Also RecordedIf you come live or catch the recording of our X Space -- Friday's at NOON Eastern -- you'll also see me put all these links in the comments section of the Space so you can easily access them.I keep a separate Bookmarks folder for this show, but it's getting so full I might have to make a separate one for each of full, all of our brains are overloaded with news and noise about stocks and technology, that it's easy to lose sight of the big trends and the I also do a cool thought experiment at the end of today's Would You Put on the Mount Rushmore of Physics?First, I review my February info-graphic that explains why I believe we are 5 years into the 5th Industrial I share an X post where a physicist created a beautiful AI rendition of Mt. Rushmore with four great physicists: Galileo, Newton, Einstein, and he also asks us if we would do it any different. I had to chime in, and as much I dig me some Feynman, he had to step down for someone who even Einstein would probably vote for: James Clerk Maxwell, who did key research and calculus on electromagnetism and its wave functions in the point of this thought experiment is to get us to think about the AI revolution in the same way the electrical one changed the world five generations AI is transforming the world even faster, it's the big trend and signal we want to stay focused on. It's why I've taught my fellow investors in TAZR Trader to always hold, and never sell, our NVIDIA NVDA shares that we last purchased at $12.50 in late I just wrote an article about the European industrial company ABB ABBNY which is making plans to spin-off its robotics division. In that article, I share "big trend" insights from Marc Andreessen about the robotics revolution because he's closer to it than I thought as an investor in Tesla's TSLA Optimus platform.I suggest that the ABB spin-off next year will "chart a path" for the dozens of start-up humanoid robot companies all vying for funding and sure to watch the video above and try to join us in the X Space today, or at least catch the replay which is available immediately. I'll be addressing one skeptic's views of the "AI hype" that make him sound like the detractors of automobiles and airplanes at the turn of the 20th Want the latest recommendations from Zacks Investment Research? The Trump-Musk feud has been great for X, which jumped up the App Store charts
The feud between Elon Musk and President Donald Trump may be bad for the MAGA camp, but it's proven to be beneficial for X, which has seen engagement soaring over the past 24 hours. According to new data from Sensor Tower, the app formerly known as Twitter skyrocketed up the U.S. App Store's top charts, landing at the 23rd overall spot on June 5 — up from an average rank of No. 68 over the last 30 days. X also saw an average rank of No. 58 over the past six months. The ranking changes could be influenced by increased downloads and engagements with the X application. Meanwhile, X's ranking on Google Play in the U.S. climbed as well, up around 20 spots from the prior seven-day average and up 16 spots from the average over the past 30 days. Sensor Tower estimates that total U.S. mobile app active users on X on June 5 increased by 6%, likely as a result of the Trump-Musk breakup, which captured the internet's interest. Specifically, the firm found that U.S. mobile app active users on X between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern time on June 5 were up by 54% compared to the last seven days. Trump's own social network, Truth Social, benefited from the feud as well, as the president shared his thoughts about Musk with his followers. Compared with the last seven days, U.S. mobile app active users on Truth Social increased by more than 400%, Sensor Tower's proprietary panel indicates. However, X is still much larger than Truth Social, Sensor Tower notes, as it has 100x more U.S. mobile app users than Trump's social network. Across both apps, the number of U.S. mobile app active users between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern reached a 90-day high. X is continuing to grow its rank in the wake of the Trump-Musk breakup. As of the time of writing, the app is the 19th top free iPhone app on the U.S. App Store. Truth Social is No. 14 in the Social Networking category, but is ranked below No. 150 overall on the free iPhone apps chart on the U.S. App Store. Why are Elon Musk and Donald Trump fighting?
