Israeli military intercepts suspected drone from Yemen

Shafaq News – Tel Aviv Israel's military said on Wednesday it had intercepted a drone believed to have been launched from Yemen, without it entering Israeli airspace or triggering alarms. 🔴اعترض سلاح الجو قبل قليل طائرة مسيرة أطلقت كما يبدو من اليمن. المسيرة لم تخترق الاجواء الاسرائيلية ولم يتم تفعيل انذارات — افيخاي ادرعي (@AvichayAdraee) June 25, 2025 Israeli Channel 12 also reported the interception, confirming the drone originated from Yemen and was heading toward Israel. The announcement came a day after Adel Rajeh, a member of the Executive Committee of Anti-Aggression Parties affiliated with the Houthis (Ansarallah), reiterated Yemen's stance in support of Gaza. Rajeh said Yemen's commitment to what he described as resisting "ongoing American and Israeli aggression" would persist. 'The support pathway is ongoing. The air and sea blockade remains in place,' he said, adding that 'the coming days will witness an escalation in military operations until the aggression on Gaza ends and the siege is fully lifted.' Since October 2023, Yemen's Houthi forces have launched several military operations targeting Israel, positioning them as part of a broader regional campaign in solidarity with Gaza.

Iranian Government praises national unity following Conflict with Israel

Shafaq News – Tehran On Wednesday, the Iranian government thanked the public for their 'resilience and unity' during the recent 12-day conflict with Israel, framing the outcome as a 'historic victory' achieved through national solidarity and military strength. In a statement, addressed directly to the Iranian people, the cabinet praised what it described as an 'unbreakable front' formed by civilians, the armed forces, intelligence agencies, law enforcement, and government institutions. 'You created a heroic stand and formed an impenetrable barrier against the enemy's intentions,' the statement read. According to the government, the conflict ended with Israel proposing a ceasefire, which it described as a result of military resistance and the steadfast support of the Iranian people. It also credited the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the coordinated efforts of the diplomatic corps, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for helping shape the outcome. The government acknowledged that it had been pursuing indirect negotiations with the United States when Israel launched what it called a 'brutal aggression,' resulting in civilian and military casualties. While reiterating that Iran does not initiate hostilities, the statement said the country is committed to ending any aggression decisively. 'The recent aggression showed that when the homeland is at stake, all citizens — regardless of their differences — stand together in defense of the nation,' the statement said. 'No externally backed regime can undermine Iran's national unity or its deterrent strength.' 'We have always been one nation — and we remain one nation.'

Oman reinforces role as key mediator in US-Iran nuclear talks, Analyst says

Shafaq News – Muscat Oman continues to play a discreet yet influential role in complex regional affairs, particularly the Iranian nuclear file, political analyst and Gulf affairs specialist Mohammed al-Araimi told Shafaq News on Wednesday. Al-Araimi pointed out that Muscat's role in facilitating secret talks between Tehran and Washington in 2013 — which led to the 2015 nuclear deal — was not an exception but part of a long-standing strategy in Omani foreign policy. 'The return of tensions between Iran and the West has reactivated Oman's role, reaffirming its status as a trusted mediator capable of breaking political deadlock,' al-Araimi said. Al-Araimi noted that Oman's foreign policy is rooted in respect for sovereignty, non-interference, and rejection of polarization, allowing it to provide a rare neutral platform for dialogue in a region often shaped by rival blocs. Asked about the potential expansion of Oman's role into broader Gulf security arrangements, he said the Sultanate possesses the capacity to contribute, especially as maritime security, energy flows, and non-traditional threats grow more pressing. However, 'success would depend on regional openness and international consensus, and could face resistance from actors who view such initiatives as threats to their influence.' On the current state of Oman's diplomacy, al-Araimi observed that both Washington and Tehran approach Muscat with cautious flexibility. 'Iran sees Oman as a credible backchannel, while the US views it as a capable diplomatic partner — especially with direct communication channels largely closed,' he explained. Still, he cautioned that Oman's success depends on complex domestic and foreign factors, including US political calculations, internal pressure in Iran, and Israel's position. Oman has hosted multiple rounds of indirect talks between the US and Iran in recent months. A sixth round was reportedly scheduled but canceled following the outbreak of the Iran–Israel conflict.
