Aldi selling £9.99 garden ornament that makes you feel like you're on holiday – and it's under half price of B&Q version

The Sun28-04-2025

ALDI is selling a stunning garden ornament for just under a tenner that makes you feel like you're on holiday.
The decorative item also comes under half the price of the B&Q version.
Although Aldi is known mostly as a food retailer, they do sell other items from time to time.
As spring arrives and summer approaches and the UK is hit with a spell of warm weather, Brits may be looking to spruce up their garden.
Now, the discount supermarket chain seeks to provide the perfect answer.
Aldi is now selling a Moroccan-style garden light, called the 'Solar Marrakesh Lantern'.
It comes with one white LED light per lantern and it boasts a generous size, with a height of 23cm and a width of 22cm.
The detailed ornament is also available in two colours to suit different tastes or colour schemes.
It's also obtainable in either a copper or gold colour to give homeowners a sense of North African opulence.
The supermarket has set the price tag for an affordable £9.99 and it could be perfect for setting an intimate night-time ambience.
With round handles at the top of the decoration, it could be possible to even hang the light.
B&Q have a similar item which is available to buy from their online shop.
Aldi's $4.99 Gardenline Plant Supports: Affordable Spring Gardening Must-Have!
But its version - titled the Marrakech Solar Powered Garden Lantern - costs far more.
Although it's similar in size, with a height of 23.5cm and a width of 22.5cm, the item is only available in one bronze colour.
The homeware shop chain is advertising the light to be either a standing or hanging decoration.
However, B&Q is selling the decoration at over double the price of the Aldi version, at £24.95.

Shoppers race to Aldi to get their hands on winter must-have item: 'Run, don't walk!'

Customers are rushing to Aldi Australia to grab a range of winter essentials before stock sells out. The German supermarket giant quietly relaunched knitwear tops and jumpers which have been popular among shoppers in recent years. Alex Hourigan, who cohosts the Two Broke Chicks podcast, spotted the latest buys at her local Aldi and boasted about the products online. The knitwear is made from a blend of merino wool and cashmere which retails for no more than $49.99, which is incredibly affordable compared to alternative brands. 'Literally run to Aldi because they've just dropped some wool and cashmere winter basics that are an absolute steal,' Alex said in a TikTok video. The selection includes Wool Cashmere Blend Tops ($39.99), Wool Cashmere Blend Knitwear ($49.99) and Merino Wool Knit Tops ($29.99). All products are available in a range of different shades, including black, cream and grey. Customers were overjoyed with the news of the recent release and shared their excitement in the comments. The German supermarket giant quietly relaunched its knitwear range which has been popular among shoppers in recent years 'They do them every year. Great staples for winter,' one wrote. 'Love!' another added. 'OMG obsessed,' a third wrote. Shoppers are encouraged to act swiftly as products are only available while stocks last in stores. Last month the discount supermarket released a delicious Biscoff mousse as part of a new Autumn range. The tasty dessert is made with a Biscoff crumb base, middle layer of Biscoff mousse and topped with a thick layer of Biscoff spread. Melbourne foodie Nectro Vlangos, better known as Nectorious Papi online, described the latest offering as a 'Biscoff overload from bottom to top'. 'It's heaven in a cup,' he said. Sydney vlogger Samantha Khater also raved about the buy on TikTok and dubbed it 10/10 as it's 'full of flavour'. On Facebook hundreds praised the buy and recommended it as a 'must', but some claimed it was 'too sweet'. 'So good but very sickly by the end,' one wrote. 'Just like with our Special Buys range, we always look to surprise and delight our customers when we add deliciousness to our Limited Time Only range,' ALDI Shopping Expert, Kylie Warnke, said. 'This selection is all about treating your friends, family and yourself with quality meals, tasty treats and desserts without breaking the budget.' In addition to the Food Envy Mousse with Biscoff Spread, Aldi has also released more than 250 other items this month including Sweet Haven Apple Pie Spring Rolls ($4.99), Toblerone Lava Cakes ($4.99) Ready, Set.. Cook! Beef Stir Fry Meal Kit ($13.99). In March Aldi brought back its popular cast-iron cookware range that's been compared to high-end French brand Le Creuset. Aldi's famous Crofton cookware collection will return to the 'Special Buys' middle aisle from March 12, while stock lasts. The range features a 24cm frypan ($9.99), 40cm frypan ($12.99) mini pots and pans ($4.99), containers ($9.99) and kitchen utensils ($1.99). The budget retailer caused a frenzy among shoppers when the range sold out previously - and it's likely to happen again. The affordable products have been likened to the look and quality of Le Creuset, which costs hundreds of dollars. The $4.99 mini pan looks similar to the $410 Le Creuset Signature Cast Iron Saucepan while the $9.99 frypan resembles the $320 Le Creuset Signature Cast Iron Frying Pan. The cookware range will be available in red, green and blue, and the containers and utensils are dishwasher safe.

Shoppers race to popular supermarket as bargain Fairy pods for 100 washes spotted on shelves

LAUNDRY HACK Shoppers race to popular supermarket as bargain Fairy pods for 100 washes spotted on shelves Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) SHOPPERS are rushing to a popular chain with over 300 stores across the UK after spotting a cracking deal on a household essential. Farmfoods is selling Fairy laundry pods offering 100 washes - yet priced at less than £20. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Farmfoods is a Scottish frozen food and grocery supermarket chain with 341 stores Credit: Getty 2 Farmfoods is selling bargain Fairy laundry pods, shoppers claim Credit: Getty One savvy shopper took to social media to share their cheap find, writing: "100 washes are back in Farmfoods £19,99." This is a bargain compared to Amazon, where the same Fairy Platinum Non Bio Pods pack currently goes for £25.99. Farmfoods is a Scottish frozen food and grocery supermarket chain with 341 stores across the UK. Founded in 1955, Farmfoods is headquartered in Cumbernauld, Scotland, with a strong presence across Scotland, Northern England and Wales. While Farmfoods specialises in frozen foods, the chain also sells a range of groceries and household essentials. It comes as shoppers spotted Farmfoods is selling a limited edition chocolate that is a twist on a classic for just 49p. Fry's Turkish Delight Orange, which is a citrus twist on the classic floral tasting chocolate, was first picked up in stores last summer. Meanwhile, Tom Church, co-founder of discount code website shared with The Sun today the best times to shop at retailers like B&M and Poundland to save money. He advised that Wednesday mornings are the best time to visit B&M, as "this is when most of the new reductions are dropped". Cleaning fan reveals the cheap, easy way to get clothes smelling 'beautiful' without shelling out on pricey dryer sheets Similarly, for Home Bargains, Tom recommends shopping first thing in the morning, as larger stores typically receive deliveries around 7.30am each day. He also suggests taking a careful look around as you enter the store, explaining, 'Often, Home Bargains keeps the best deals at the front to lure you in. "You don't want to walk straight past them on the way in!' Superdrug often offers promotions and shopping incentives. Tom says the best time to shop there depends on "what you're buying, and timing your shop to coincide with a relevant offer". For example, the store often runs 3-for-2 deals on beauty products, so if you're restocking your makeup bag, it may be worth waiting for that offer to return. Aldi is well known for its middle aisle Special Buys, selling everything from air fryers to dupes for Dyson hairstylers. These deals drop on Thursdays and Sundays, so arriving early on those days gives you the best chance to grab the bargains. The store also has red stickers to point out an item has been reduced. Tom said: "If you get there early, you have a better chance of bagging them. Just look out for red stickers.'
