Hyderabad: Congress leaders and delegates from 100 countries who participated in the two-day Bharat Summit-2025 here on Saturday collectively adopted the
Hyderabad Resolution
, a 44-point agenda under the theme 'delivering
global justice
'.
The Hyderabad Resolution unanimously condemned
terrorism
in all forms, including by nations that support terrorism. It further stated that far-right leaders and autocratic govts were derailing
democracy
and limiting freedoms by undermining institutions, disregarding multilateral agreements, spreading lies, fuelling division, and attacking progress, especially on gender equality and civil rights.

"These actions deepen inequalities, roll back developmental gains, and further fuel climate emergencies. We stand with progressive movements around the world that are being silenced. Autocratic govts are misusing the law to target critics. Social and traditional media are being manipulated, and intrusive surveillance is employed against activists and dissenters. Undermining the rule of law and public accountability fosters an environment ripe for unchecked power and corruption. These mounting assaults on democracy, and the concentration of power by conservative and far-right forces, pose grave threats to the international order. We recognize persistent injustices—particularly those affecting the Global South—and commit to reshaping a world order that is equitable, inclusive, and responsive," were among the resolutions adopted at the summit.

The resolution reaffirms a shared commitment to the values of freedom, equality, justice, and solidarity, uniting social-democratic, socialist, and labour movements from around the world.
The key agenda items include reshaping the economic paradigm, advancing environmental justice, striving for gender equality and social inclusion, defending democracy and social justice, working for peace and human security, and reforming global institutions.
Over 450 international delegates who attended the two-day summit provided the right platform to exchange ideas on global justice and peace, in alignment with Rahul Gandhi's vision of Nyay Patra. "We will uphold the global consensus on tackling climate change despite emerging disagreements. We stand together to forge partnerships to espouse global justice as an underlying imperative in these trying times," the resolutions said.

Telangana Govt to digitise Cabinet meeting files henceforth

Telangana government has taken another leap towards IT administration deciding to digitise the Cabinet meeting files henceforth. Until now, cabinet agendas and supporting documents were shared with ministers in the paper form, handled confidentially by the General Administration Department (GAD). From now onwards, all cabinet-related files will be digitally filed and stored, enhancing security, confidentiality, and ease of access. Chief Secretary A. Ramakrishna Rao has been tasked with overseeing the creation of a robust digital filing system. The government is examining models adopted in other States that have already implemented similar digital initiatives, according to a senior official in the Chief Minister's Office (CMO). 'Only a handful of States in India have adopted digital storage of cabinet files so far, making Telangana one of the pioneers in this regard,' he said. Reviewing of Action Taken Reports (ATRs) of decisions made in previous meetings Additionally, as part of the reforms, the State cabinet will convene a status review meeting every three months. This special session will focus on reviewing the Action Taken Reports (ATRs) of decisions made in previous meetings. These reviews will involve not just the ministers but also principal secretaries and secretaries of all departments, ensuring collective accountability and administrative support. The [Chief Minister] Revanth Reddy government wants to position Telangana as a model State for governance and digital administration. As a part of the governance reforms introduced in the last couple of months, the State cabinet will now meet twice every month, with a fixed schedule. This is to eliminate delays in decision-making and expedite review of ongoing government programmes. 'The ministers have been informed well in advance that the next cabinet meeting will be held on July 10, a practice that will now become a norm,' an official explained. 98 cabinet meetings from 2014 After the formation of Telangana, 98 cabinet meetings have been held of which 18 meetings have been conducted under the current Congress-led government, which assumed office in December 2023. Officials explain that the latest decision to digitise the Cabinet files reflect a decisive shift towards institutional discipline, transparency, and responsiveness in State administration.

India finds out about decisions important to it from White House: Cong's dig on trade deal

With US President Donald Trump announcing that a 'very big' trade deal is on the cards with India, the Congress on Friday took a swipe at the government and said it seems that India gets to know decisions of great importance to it from the White House. The opposition party's swipe at the government came after President Donald Trump said a 'very big' trade deal is on the cards with India, hinting at significant progress in the negotiation process of a long-awaited bilateral trade agreement between the two countries. 'We are having some great deals. We have one coming up, maybe with India. Very big one. Where we're going to open up India,' said Trump while speaking at the 'Big Beautiful Bill' event at the White House. Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh said that 'after repeating 16 times' that he used a trade deal as an instrument to bring about a ceasefire between India & Pakistan, Trump has now announced that the India-US trade agreement is going to be signed in the next few days. 'He calls it a 'very big deal.' It better be – given that it led to the abrupt end of Operation Sindoor,' Ramesh said on X. 'As is now becoming evident, India has to get to know decisions of great importance to it from the White House in Washington DC,' the Congress leader said. Trump's remarks come as an Indian team headed by chief negotiator Rajesh Agarwal on Thursday arrived in Washington for the next round of trade talks with the US. Both countries are engaged in negotiations for an interim trade deal and are trying to finalise the pact before July 9. The high tariffs announced by the US on April 2 were suspended by the Trump administration till July 9. The agriculture and dairy sectors are difficult and challenging areas for India to give duty concessions to the US. India has not opened up dairy in any of its free trade pacts signed so far. The US wants duty concessions on certain industrial goods, automobiles – especially electric vehicles, wines, petrochemical products, dairy, and agricultural items like apples, tree nuts, and genetically modified crops. India is seeking duty concessions for labour-intensive sectors like textiles, gems and jewellery, leather goods, garments, plastics, chemicals, shrimp, oil seeds, grapes, and bananas in the proposed trade pact.
