Denver weather: Pinpoint Weather Alert Day issued Monday evening for storms
DENVER (KDVR) — A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for Monday evening as scattered thunderstorms could become strong to severe, producing damaging wind gusts and large hail.

While a few showers and thunderstorms are in the Denver weather forecast through the evening, the main threat will be in northeastern Colorado.
Denver is in a marginal risk, which is level one on a scale of one to five, for strong to severe storms that could produce strong wind gusts and hail.
The risk increases to slight, or level two, in east and especially northeastern Colorado for strong storms that could produce large hail, damaging wind gusts and in some cases rotation that could lead to a tornado.
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued in eastern and northeastern Colorado through 8 p.m. During this time, storms could become strong to severe, producing damaging wind gusts and hail.
Rain will pick up late Monday night and will be heavy at times after midnight as low temperatures fall to the 40s.

Rain showers will linger into early Tuesday morning. As showers wrap up, clouds will linger and limit high temperatures to around 60 degrees, which is nearly 20 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year.
By Tuesday evening, a few showers and thunderstorms will develop.
The chance for showers and afternoon thunderstorms lingers in the forecast through the weekend and into next week.
Wednesday will start off mainly cloudy, then as high temperatures climb toward 70 degrees, afternoon showers and thunderstorms will build in. Showers and thunderstorms will be more widespread on Thursday, and will aid in limiting high temperatures to the 60s.
Showers and thunderstorms will become more spotty with the heat of the afternoon Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This will allow for a warming trend heading into the weekend. High temperatures will reach the 70s on Friday, then seasonal levels around 80 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.

Windsor sets mosquito traps around town as part of summer management program
DENVER (KDVR) — The Town of Windsor says it set up 14 mosquito traps in 'various locations' around town as part of its 'high-performing' comprehensive mosquito control program this summer. The town is partnering with Vector Disease Control International for the program, which includes adult mosquito surveillance, field inspections and control applications, Windsor said Wednesday.
